Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku stiffened slightly at Lightning's close proximity, his eyes going down to her. "Are you even well enough to go alone?" he asked, then swallowing the nerves he suddenly felt arise within him. He couldn't focus on them now, concerned more for Lightning's shape.

"I have to be," Lightning said, swallowing down some pain and starting to recover. She knew the world, and she wasn't going to invite any of Ven's friends to that place. They didn't know how to fight the monsters there, and if they ran into a Fal'cie, they could suffer the same fate as her. She wasn't going to allow that to happen.
Riku looked away after a moment, his hand remaining on Lightning's side and shoulder as he stared at the sand. "...You're gonna get worse," he assumed. The pain was coming more quickly now, wasn't it? Would she even be able to hold her own when it came to battle?

"Only if I despair," Lightning answered. "I won't make that mistake." She once told somebody that when she and her friends couldn't find hope, they kept searching until they found some. That was how she lived her life now, and how she would always live it if she were to remain herself.
"Right," Riku said, nodding slightly as he returned his gaze to Lightning's pale pink hair. Then she would come back, for Ven. After just being reunited, he didn't think fate would be cruel enough to tear them apart.

Lightning took her forehead off Riku's shoulder after a moment, stable enough now to regain some composure. She nodded slightly to him in thanks for his support, her grip loosening on his shoulder.
Riku's aquamarine eyes found Lightning's face when she pulled away, and he wordlessly let his hands leave her form. He hoped she would be alright, for more than one reason.

Lightning took her hand off Riku's shoulder, shifting her gaze to the sky. It was sunset. "The day's almost over," she said. "I'll rest for a few hours and then go during the night." It was the only way she'd be able to leave without Ven asking questions that she couldn't answer.
Riku hummed softly, nodding. "I'll expect to see you in a week," he told her. He found it hard to believe that somebody as determined and intelligent as Lightning would lose themselves to some Fal'cie.

"Right," Lightning said with a nod. "See you in a week." She waited a second before she turned and started walking like she had been before, heading home.
Riku watched Lightning go in silence, only the waves registering to him now. He felt Jasmine nudge at his fingertips, and he scratched the top of her head without taking his eyes off Lightning, knowing that this could be the last time he saw her. Ever.

A week later

Ven sat on the dock on the mainland, aimlessly kicking his feet as he stared off at the island. He was confused, and worried. Riku said that Lightning left for a few days to check on Serah, but that she'd be back within a week. The week was up, so where was she?

Riku walked down the beach, spotting Ven not too far off. He'd been pretty quiet this last week, even with Terra and Aqua. Riku wasn't really surprised, given that his sister left a few days back. And her week was up, which made Riku nervous. Lightning should have been back by now.

Ven didn't sense anybody else on the beach, still thinking. He felt like he should go look for Lightning. She said a while ago it was her job to protect him and not the other way around, but he didn't agree. He wasn't helpless, and he would prove that to her.
Riku approached Ven's position silently, knowing that Lightning wasn't back for a reason. He hated the fact that her unfortunate hunch had been correct, because not only was she gone, but he had to tell Ven the truth. "Hey, Ven," he called.
  • Author
Ven automatically sat up, his eyes wandering over to the person who called him. Riku? "What's up?" he asked, stopping kicking through the air and focusing on his friend.
Riku stopped by the dock, though he still stood on the beach. He felt the water lick at his shoes, but he only shoved his hands into his pockets. "There's something I need to share with you," he revealed, "about Lightning."

Ven arched a brow in confusion, not understanding. Since when were she and Riku all buddy-buddy? He just figured they tolerated each other, but if Riku had to say something Ven didn't know, then those two were closer than he thought. "Okay...?"
Riku's eyes narrowed in disappointment and seriousness combined. "She's not coming back," he confessed lowly. "She can't." Not with the way she had to be now.
  • Author
Ven felt completely confused then, but also worried. "What do you mean?" he asked in concern, turning so his legs dangled off the side of the dock and he faced Riku. Lightning wasn't coming back? Couldn't come back? How come?
"She's cursed, Ven," Riku explained, hating that he had to be the one to say this. But Lightning trusted him with the information. There was nothing more to do but do as she asked. "From her world, there's this thing called a Fal'cie that brands people to fulfill tasks, also known as focuses. Those people are called l'Cie, and Lightning was one of them when she found you."
  • Author
Ventus furrowed his eyebrows, taking this in. "So she left to fulfill her focus?" he asked. "Why can't she come back once she's done with it?" A focus couldn't be that hard, could it?
"It's not that easy," Riku said, shaking his head. "If she manages to complete her focus, then she's turned to crystal and granted eternal life." He then furrowed his eyebrows. "If not, she turns into a Cie'th, the enemy of Cocoon, where she's from."
  • Author
Ven hated how Riku wasn't giving him any good news, but Ven was more optimistic than that. "Why's it so bad that she'd be an enemy of Cocoon?" he asked. "She lives with us now." She didn't have to worry about being an enemy of her home too much...
"Because, Ven," Riku said, starting to feel a little impatient with him. "She's there now, and the Cie'th are mindless monsters. Your sister won't be herself if her focus goes uncompleted. You understand?" She would be dead.
