Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"You don't know what it's like to have younger siblings," Lightning repeated calmly, staring at Jasmine. Riku was an only child, so he couldn't understand her selfless devotion to Ventus. There was no stronger bond.
"No, I don't," Riku said lowly, opening his eyes to stare at the ground. That was why he was thinking this way, putting the victim before others. Or was there more to this than that?

He'll never understand, Lightning thought. It was just how things were when you were with family; you provided them with whatever they needed, especially when they were all you had left. But you have Riku, she thought randomly, surprising herself.
Riku pushed himself away from the doorway, looking up at Lightning. "You need to get back to bed," he said in the silence, walking toward the couch. There was no point in her staying down here.

"I'm fine here," Lightning argued back, though not harshly. She focused on Jasmine again, the dog gazing at her with big brown eyes. She liked this dog, a lot. She was surprisingly lovable.
"But you would be better upstairs," Riku retorted, his eyes stern as he stood his ground against Lightning. He was her caretaker for now, and he knew that she needed to be comfortable and have as much rest as possible.

"It's not going to make that much of a difference," Lightning argued. Why was Riku telling her what to do? She wasn't completely helpless. Even when she was kidnapped by Maleficent, she wasn't helpless.
Riku stopped beside Jasmine, standing in front of Lightning now. "It does to me," he said lowly, looking down at her. Couldn't she just do as he asked? It wasn't that difficult.

"How so?" Lightning retorted, looking up at Riku now. She could sleep on the couch, unless Riku desperately wanted the TV or something. Even then, she could sleep just fine.
Riku met Lightning's gaze for a moment, frowning before he brought his hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose, his eyes falling closed. He sighed, exhausted and overly-aggravated. He lost his temper more easily when he was tired, and Light wasn't helping.

"If anything, you're the one who needs to go to bed," Light said, her voice less argumentative than before as she looked to the dog. Riku was clearly exhausted, and though he didn't say anything, she knew it was over her. If she was that much of a burden, why didn't he ask her to leave? Was he just too polite?
Riku didn't say anything, hearing Jasmine whimper before she licked at his hand closest to her. He opened his eyes then, lowering his hand from his face as he looked down at her. He scratched the top of her head briefly for a moment before he stepped over, collapsing on the couch in the space Lightning left open. He was exhausted, true, but he wasn't leaving Lightning by herself downstairs.

"You don't strike me as the type who gets exhausted often," Lightning said, eyebrows furrowing slightly as she turned onto her back and carefully pushed herself up to lean against the corner of the couch so she could look at Riku.
"That's 'cause I'm not," Riku said, rubbing at his eyes, his elbow against the arm of the couch. "As a Keyblader, you get used to little sleep and uncomfortable safe havens." But when he was home these last few days, he just couldn't sleep. It was like something was on his mind, keeping him awake.

"So what's different now?" Lightning asked with an arched brow. Riku was clearly worn out, and even though he had fought a few times lately, she didn't think that was why he was exhausted. There was something else, wasn't there?
Riku shook his head, his arm coming down to rest on the couch. "I dunno," he answered lowly, staring down at his lap. He had a guess, but that was bizarre. That couldn't be it.

"...Is it because I'm here?" Lightning asked after a few moments. She got that Riku thought she was totally helpless and all that, so maybe he was stressing because he felt like he had to protect her.
"Yup," Riku answered, leaning his head back against the couch. "You're annoying me, Light." He turned his head and gave her a look, showing that he was just being stupid. She wasn't a burden. He was just...worried.

Light caught Riku's look, and while he was amused, she stayed somber. That wasn't too surprising, since she always was this way. "I'm serious," she said. Was she a problem?
Riku rolled his eyes and turned his head against the couch so he was staring up at the ceiling. He sighed a little and thought about how to answer her question, since she meant it. "...I'm just stressed," Riku finally admitted, his eyes staying on the white ceiling above him.
  • Author
Light stayed silent, keeping her gaze on Riku. Okay, he was stressed. But that still didn't answer her question. It was a simple question, one that only needed a "yes" or a "no". Why wasn't he giving her either?
Riku heard the silence and felt Light's gaze on him, but he didn't react to it, too tired to. He stared blankly up at the ceiling, in thought. He wasn't sure he wanted to admit that he was, well, worried. It wasn't something he normally did.
  • Author
"I can stay with somebody else if I'm causing you that much hassle," Light finally said. If he wasn't answering, then he probably was losing sleep because she was here. She could take the hint, and she already had. But...she actually didn't want to leave. That surprised her, since she and Riku were only friends. But he was a friend she felt safe with.
"I'm the only one that can help you, Lightning," Riku said, keeping his gaze on the ceiling. And to convince her of staying, he would say one more thing. "Besides...I don't want you to leave." He turned his head against the couch, his tired aqua eyes finding her face.
  • Author
Light glanced away after a moment, actually feeling...shy? That was a rare feeling for her. Why would Riku want her to stay? "You have to take care of yourself before anybody else," she told him. He was only hurting himself by acting the way he was right now, which was...overly protective.
