Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light exhaled a soft breath, looking down when Riku sat down next to her. She was taking too long to get over this Darkness. She didn't know if it was normal for things to take this long, but she hated being weak. She wanted to be back up on her feet and normal again by tomorrow, but at this rate, she would be lucky to be alright in a week.
"...I haven't asked in a while," Riku started softly, his eyes on a palm tree not too far off. "How you feeling?" Lightning got out here on her own. Did that mean she was gaining her strength back?

"I'm alright," Lightning responded automatically, her voice soft to match Riku's. Even if she wasn't alright, she would say that. It was humiliating for a warrior like her to be so weak.
"You know something," Riku began, crossing his arms over his chest. "You've been saying that a lot lately. I ask you if you need anything--'I'm alright'. I ask if you're comfortable--'I'm alright'. I ask if you're doing okay--'I'm alright'." Riku turned his head, looking over at the girl next to him. "Got anything new? Or are you stuck on repeat?"

Light shrugged, her hands in her lap. Riku caught her. "Yeah, I'm stuck on repeat," she said, that option being better than the former. She really didn't have anything new to say, because she was keeping herself from depending on Riku. By saying she was alright, she never really answered his questions, either.
"Anything I can do to change that?" Riku asked, his eyes resting on Light's face. He felt like she was...keeping to herself more than she should have been. She needed help, and he was willingly providing it. Was that a problem?
  • Author
"No," Lightning said. Riku couldn't change it, and he wasn't meant to. He wasn't supposed to be in the position of taking care of her, and she was already too vulnerable in front of him. She wouldn't be needy too.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at that, not believing it. There wasn't one single little thing he could do to help out? At all? He wouldn't believe that. He couldn't.

Lightning furrowed her eyebrows slightly, looking down at her hands in her lap. Riku didn't believe her, did he? He was persistent, too, so he wouldn't drop this conversation until he was satisfied. Any second now, he'd start speaking again. She just knew it.
"You're a bad liar," Riku said with a frown, his serious eyes on Lightning even if she wouldn't look at him. There had to be something. Why was she being so stubborn? He wanted to help. He was the only one that could.

"You're bad at dropping touchy subjects," Lightning said in response, looking across the porch again. Wasn't it obvious by now that she didn't like talking about her condition? She was weak and vulnerable, and Riku constantly pointed it out by asking if she needed anything.
"You don't talk much," Riku said, his expression remaining the same. "How am I supposed to know what's touchy and what's not?" It was like Lightning was always wearing a mask...
  • Author
"You're smarter than that, Riku," Lightning said without looking over. "Think about the situation. If you were in my place, you'd act the same." She wouldn't accept help because she was too stubborn to admit she needed it. Riku would react the same way, or so she thought.
Riku looked away at that, closing his eyes. "You're right. I would," he answered honestly. "But Sora would never let me try to take on things by myself, and neither would Kairi. That's why they're upset with me, for what I did with you the other day." He left, and it cost him. It cost Lightning.

Light looked down, tensing a little. She had been thinking about that. "...Maleficent's the one who did the real damage," she said. "Not you." He left and allowed her to be vulnerable, but Maleficent was the one who started this. It was her fault.
"I left you unprotected...when you were vulnerable, Light," Riku said strictly, frowning at his previous behavior. "It nearly cost you your life. I'm not gonna make the same mistake again." That was why he was glued to her side all the time. He was trying to protect her.
  • Author
"I shouldn't have been so vulnerable in the first place," Light responded, curling her hands into fists. She didn't care if she was poisoned by Darkness; she was supposed to be stronger than that. She overcame things that Riku couldn't even imagine, and yet the Darkness nearly killed her? It was ridiculous.
"...Doesn't matter. You are what you are, and there's nothing you can do about it." Riku opened his eyes then, staring down at his lap. He was Darkness, and always would be. He'd accepted it, but it was still hard to live with. Even so, Lightning needed to accept that she was vulnerable, for now. She would get her strength back.

Nothing at all? Lightning wanted to challenge. She was doing what she could to change that; she believed by moving around and trying to do things, she was making herself recovery more quickly. But Riku seemed to believe the opposite; her inability to sit still was making things worse.
"Just...stop being stubborn," Riku said, glancing at Lightning out of the corner of his eye before pushing himself up from the swing. If she didn't, things would only be more difficult.
  • Author
"Not gonna happen," Lightning said simply, glancing up at Riku. She was always stubborn, and that wasn't going to change anytime soon. Unless Riku did something to change that, which she doubted would happen.
Riku smirked once without humor, standing still in front of the swing. He then turned around, getting in front of Lightning before he leaned down and put his arms on the back of the swing, boxing her in. "Try me," he said, his aqua eyes on her pale blue.
  • Author
"Hmph," Lightning hummed, arching a brow at Riku. Alright, she would test him, since he told her to. "You really think you can change who I am?" she asked, though the answer was obvious. No, he couldn't change her. I am what I am.
"Doubt it," Riku said, his eyes on Lightning's face as he kept his position. "You're too hardheaded to change. But...don't knock it till you try it, I guess." He would try. He knew there was a more lenient side to her underneath, somewhere.
  • Author
"Don't waste your time," Lightning said, glancing towards Riku's chest instead of looking at his eyes. "I am what I am, remember?" He had said that just a minute ago, and though he was talking about her vulnerability, it could be repeated in this context.
