Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku furrowed his eyebrows. "Attitudes can change, not hearts," he said softly. "You can change how you act, but not who you are on the inside." He learned that a while ago, and sometimes the person he was within his heart made an appearance every once in a while.

"What's on the inside reflects what's on the outside," Lightning said, furrowing her eyebrows slightly. She wanted to leave this conversation, but he was blocking her way. Didn't he get it? She wasn't a warm, likable person like he was.
"Or you put on a mask to hide who you truly are...'cause you're afraid you'll get hurt," Riku replied lowly, his eyes locked on Light's. "You're afraid the enemy will find your weakness and use it against you." That was it, wasn't it? Why she was so...stoic?
  • Author
"You're making too many assumptions," Lightning said lowly, lifting her gaze to Riku's eyes again. She put on a mask sometimes, but it wasn't to protect herself from enemies. It was to protect herself from getting hurt in another way.
"Assumptions can be proven right sometimes," Riku replied, his eyes gazing into hers. "So tell me something....am I right? About you?" Was she wearing a mask to protect herself?
  • Author
"What's it matter?" Lightning asked, not answering either way. She glared into Riku's eyes defensively, something about his gaze making her feel pressured. Why did he care so much about whether or not she wore a mask?
Riku furrowed his eyebrows, catching onto the glare being thrown at him. "Guess it doesn't," he replied lowly, pushing himself away from her then. If she wasn't going to open up, there was no point in pushing it. Like Lightning said, he'd just be wasting his time.
  • Author
"Yeah, that's what I thought," Lightning said, lowering her feet to the ground once she had room to breathe again. She was perplexed; why did Riku pursue that topic so hard? And why was he so upset she wouldn't give him an answer?
Riku put a hand on his hip, still standing in front of her. "You think you know a lot, don't you?" he asked. About the Darkness, about him, about life in general, about anything... He just didn't understand why.
  • Author
"Yes, because I do know a lot," Light said without flinching. Maybe she was lacking some knowledge about the Darkness, but she knew more about other worlds because of her travels there. She also knew more horror and hardship than anybody else could comprehend.
"Enlighten me then," Riku said, tilting his head a little as he challenged her. "You make me feel like I don't know jack." If that was the case, then he was all ears. He was up for a lesson or two, as long as she shared some kind of story with him.
  • Author
"Enlighten you?" Lightning repeated. "What do you want to know?" She'd tell him what he wanted to know, unless it was something she kept to herself.
"You tell me," Riku replied. "You're the one that makes the calls around here." Or that was how it seemed. She was one of the most stubborn people he'd met, even worse than Kairi, who wasn't even that bad. "After all, I'm just a kid. So spare me any gory details." He was being sarcastic now, getting smart with her.
  • Author
"Just a kid, you say?" Light asked, folding her arms over her chest at Riku's sarcasm. Well, she could play that game. "If that's the case, then I have nothing to say." He said nothing gory, and she included her nightmare of a life in that category. She had nothing "appropriate" to share.
"Heh," Riku laughed once, no humor involved. "Thanks. I owe you one." He turned around then, walking forward a few steps before he let his hand come down to his side. So she really thought he was a kid, even at eighteen. How nice.
  • Author
"You're the one who said nothing gory," Light said, closing her eyes and furrowing her eyebrows in seriousness. "But whether you said it or not, I wouldn't tell you. Some things are too horrible to be spoken." Like the things that shaped her into the cold, stoic person she was today.
"Like what? Being possessed?" Riku said, keeping his back to Lightning as he spoke. "Nearly killing your best friend? Losing yourself to Darkness? Yeah, I know nothing of the sort." His life had been horrible. Awful. She may have heard his story from Sora, but that didn't explain it all. Sora still had no idea how he felt back then. Not at all.
  • Author
"At least you never had to change your name," Lightning said tensely, eyes staying shut. She changed her name to try and escape her past, where so many horrible things happened. But it didn't work. It was impossible to forget or move on after all that terrible stuff.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Riku asked then, glancing out of the corner of his eye as if to look back at her. "Ansem?" He had to take on a new identity completely, changing his physical appearance entirely. She had no idea what that was like.
  • Author
Lightning actually did forget that detail, but the way Riku pointed it out was obnoxious. "That's different," she said simply, glaring at the ground now. He didn't know why he changed her name; not even Ventus knew.
Riku turned around a little, looking over at Lightning. "Doubt it," he said. He did it for his friends, his family. What'd she change her name for?
  • Author
Light didn't look up even when she felt Riku's gaze on her. She heard Sora's story; he said Riku took on the form of Ansem to help him and Kairi. Lightning changed her name for her own selfish reasons. In the end, it was to help her cope with life.
"Well?" Riku prodded, waving an arm at Lightning as a gesture to speak. Was she just going to leave him hanging like that? Or was there something she wanted to share?
  • Author
Light glanced up at Riku before she looked back down, her jaw locking at the memories this conversation was bringing up. "You did it for the sake of you friends," she said. "I did it for myself." That was putting it simply.
Riku furrowed his eyebrows more at that, not understanding. "Why?" he asked, knowing that he was going down a touchy path. But his curiosity was getting the best of him.
