Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku sat down on the floor and lay on his back, staring up at the ceiling as he sighed. "That should help," he said, voice low in the dim room. He glanced behind him, toward the couch and the girl he had been with for so long. He couldn't really imagine her leaving. It would be...lonely.

Light hummed softly in response without looking over at Riku, her chin resting on her knees. The fire and candles would help light up the room, and she could tell there was a difference even because of the smallest candles. It was the small things that made a difference.
Riku blinked once before he looked back to the ceiling, linking his hands behind his head. He heard the crackle of the fire mix with the sound of the storm, and he found it rather soothing. Would this be how things were now that a lot of the Darkness was gone? Easy-going and quiet?

Light turned her head so her cheek rested on her knees, her gaze on the window. She saw lightning flash in the sky, and that served as a reminder of why she gave herself Lightning as her new name. Lightning...It flashes bright, then fades away.
Riku stared up at the ceiling in silence, not knowing if there was anything to say. Something in the air told him he needed to say something, or it at least felt that way. But he wasn't going to do it until he was sure.

"Hey...Riku?" Light asked softly, lifting her head and just gazing at the window. She had a question that she had to ask, though she wasn't sure how Riku would respond to it. But she needed to know.
"Yeah?" Riku asked, tilting his head back a little to look at Light. She seemed a little...hesitant, but maybe that was just a mistake on his part.

"...Why would you pick me to stay over your best friend?" Light kept her gaze on the window when she spoke, this question not being the real one she wanted to ask. Was what Maleficent said true? Do you really...long for me?
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the question, and he looked back up at the ceiling. "...Sora would have been able to fight back," he said, remembering the look his best friend gave him. "You weren't in any shape." She was a wreck, and still was. Sora could handle the Darkness those villains threw at him; he had before.

Light shook her head faintly, looking over at Riku. "The four of them would have killed him off pretty easily," she said bluntly. If Lightning had gone along, they would have kept her alive, because she was obedient to them. But Sora was their worst enemy, so even if he did fight back, he would have died.
Riku frowned at the words. "Don't say that," he said lowly. "Sora's stronger than you think." He knew as well as anyone how strong his best friend was, rivaling Kairi on the subject. Even if there might have been the possibility, he didn't like to think about it.

"Four against one, Riku," Lightning said, furrowing her eyebrows as she looked at him. "No matter how strong a person is, it's hard to take on four super villains at once."
Riku didn't respond, swallowing at the words. He knew that, but he didn't want to admit Lightning was right. That would bring the possibility closer to the truth.
  • Author
"You know it's true, but you were about to send him into that anyway," Light said, eyebrows furrowed in seriousness. "You should told Maleficent to leave him behind." She knew Riku didn't want to think about it, but she couldn't get over the fact that he chose her over his childhood best friend.
Riku closed his eyes, his eyebrows still furrowed. "What's your point?" he asked stiffly. He knew that Sora would have had a disadvantage, and could have lost his life, but...he cared a lot for Lightning too. It was a terrible situation.

I should think it's obvious, Light thought, looking towards the window. "...Don't you ever choose saving me over saving your best friend ever again," she said. That wasn't fair to Sora.
"In case you didn't catch it," Riku said lowly, "he was the one that told me to. He knew I couldn't make that kind of decision myself." And he couldn't. Making him choose between two people important to him was his weakness. His friends were his weakness. Or were they his strength? It didn't really matter, not right now.
  • Author
"That doesn't matter," Light said, shaking her head faintly. "Listen to what I'm telling you. Sora's been your best friend since childhood. You guys always have each other's backs. ...Don't you ever let somebody else get in the way of that." Meaning, herself. Why would Riku even choose her over somebody he was so close to. Was what Maleficent said true?
Riku's jaw flexed as he kept his mouth shut, not wanting to say anything harsh to someone so vulnerable. He pushed himself up and propped his knee up as he stared at the fire, one arm resting on it. He tried focusing on that, though he knew Lightning was right.

Lightning looked down towards the floor, realizing then how tense her body was with this talk. But she tried to ignore that, her arms staying around her legs. She was...upset. If Sora would have died, it would have been her fault. She didn't know Sora well, but she wasn't alright with his death.
Riku gazed at the flames licking at the wood, his body still tense with the words that were said. "...I couldn't lose you, alright?" he said stiffly, confessions hard for him. "It would kill me to lose either of you. I just...needed help. Sora gave me that, but at the cost of his own freedom...and probably his life." His hand balled into a fist. "I understand that now, okay? I just..." Riku sighed, closing his eyes. He had been stuck. Really stuck.

Light looked up at Riku, eyes softening at his words. It would kill him to lose either of them...It would kill him to lose her? How could Riku possibly put her at the same level as his best friend? She noticed a few months ago that not even all of his friends were at as important to him as Sora was. They were all important, but still, Sora would always have priority. She could easily label their relationship as one like brothers. And now Riku was saying that Lightning was as important to him as his brother figure?
"Maleficent found my weakness," Riku admitted, opening his eyes to stare at his lap. "My friends...people I care for. They're my strength and my weakness. At least, that's how it seems." He didn't like it, but it felt that way to him, unfortunately.

"...They're the people you fight for," Light said softly, lowering her gaze to the ground. "And the people who can cause you the most vulnerability." She knew from experience. She loved her sister Serah, but when she was kidnapped and Lightning raced to save her, she was turned into a l'cie herself. She acted irrationally because of how upset she was about her sister. Her care for her made her vulnerable.
"Right," Riku said, nodding a little. That was exactly how it was. He cared for Sora like a brother, which was why he was so scared for him sometimes. But he cared for Lightning like...like what?
