Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"...Did she try taking advantage of that weakness in the past?" Light asked without looking at Riku, gaze lowered to the floor. She heard about his past from Sora, and while Kairi could be used as an example for Maleficent preying on Riku's weakness, she felt like it was different. It was more like she was taking advantage of his lust for power than anything else.
"...She knew I would do anything to save Kairi, so she convinced me that Sora was playing around with his 'new friends'," Riku said with distaste, putting his hand to his hair at the memory. "She said I was being replaced...and I believed her. I almost killed Sora because of that." He would never forgive himself, even if Sora did. Sometimes, he thought his friend was just too forgiving.

"I knew that," Light pointed out gently. "Sora told me, remember?" He told her a long time ago, before any of the real drama unfolded. Back when her brand was still active. How long ago was that? Time flew so quickly since then.
Riku smiled, though a tad bitterly. "I forget Sora has a big mouth sometimes," he said softly, staring at the fire as he held his head up. Sometimes he didn't want people to know of his past, and considering the circumstances, Lightning was one of them. It just wasn't something he wanted people to know about him.

Light shrugged faintly, arms still wrapped around her legs. "You probably would have told me by now anyway," she guessed softly. Since she and Riku were at least friends, she assumed that he would have filled her in on everything sooner or later. Sora just beat him to the punch.
Riku's brow furrowed a little at that, something coming to mind. "You can't avoid the truth for too long," he stated softly. That was all too real for him, given his past. The truth caught up with him in more ways than one.

"Right," Lightning said quietly in agreement, looking down at her knees. But she was thinking of another truth now...or another lie. What Maleficent said about Riku caring for her, longing for her. Was that truth, or was that a lie?
Riku let the crackle of the fire set in, as well as the rain that was still pouring on his house. Was there any more to say than that? He didn't think so, unless something changed his mind.

...Should I bring it up? Light wondered. She wasn't sure; Riku seemed to be upset about something still. "...You okay?" she asked, saying that question instead of one of her other ones. She knew he was okay physically, but how was he emotionally?
"Honestly?" Riku asked, keeping his sight on the fire. "...No." He was a wreck. Maleficent was dead, and that was a relief, but it left him feeling...different. Was he happy? Yeah, but there was something else too. It felt like a lot of weight was taken off his shoulders, a lot of Darkness. But, there was more than just that.

Light pushed herself up wordlessly at Riku's answer, the couch creaking softly with the movement. She sat down beside Riku by the fire and let her legs rest to the side of her, the girl glancing at the fire before she looked back to Riku. She didn't know what to say to that answer.
Riku's eyes stayed on the fire, though his eyebrows lowered more when Light sat beside him. Was she going to offer sympathy? Because he wasn't really sure he wanted it. He'd gone long enough without it, and if he got it now... Well, he didn't want to seem more vulnerable than he already was.

"...What's wrong?" Light asked, looking over at Riku even when he wouldn't look at her. Maleficent was gone; everything should have been fine now. Unless he was worried about the other guys, which she doubted was the case.
Riku didn't answer at first, trying to ignore the concern he could practically feel coming from Lightning as she looked at him. He let his aqua eyes stay on the fire, the heat warming him even if he still felt a little cold. "Dunno," he finally said, frowning. "Something just feels...different."

Light shifted her gaze to the fire, hearing a soft rumble of thunder outside. She didn't know what Riku mean, but she had a feeling that even if she asked him to elaborate, he wouldn't. What did he mean by "different"? It seemed like a bad different, whatever it was.
"Sorry," Riku apologized automatically, not able to help himself with that. "There's not much more to say about it than that. I don't really know." He shrugged a little, lowering his gaze to his hand that was still in a fist. He flexed it. "The fact that she's gone... It must just be messing with my heart." That was the only explanation he could come up with.

Light hummed softly, feeling chills at that last sentence. She knew how Riku was feeling; she felt really off since Maleficent was killed. She had been trying to ignore it, though. Maybe she wasn't cold because of the weather, but because of how Maleficent was gone. What if the witch put some kind of spell on her that was still affecting her?
Riku let his eyes find Light then, noticing how close she was sitting now that he saw her. "Don't tell Sora and Kairi," he requested softly. "I don't want them to worry about it." He could handle it.

If the mood wasn't so heavy, Light would have brought up her joke from earlier. Riku was telling her what to do again? She ignored that thought and nodded faintly while gazing at the ground. "Alright," she said softly.
Riku nodded his thanks, turning his gaze back to the fire as silence surrounded him and Light again. There was a dull rumble of thunder, causing a small vibration throughout the house, but Riku didn't really pay attention.

Light changed positions, her legs in front of her and knees up in front of her. But they weren't close enough for her to wrap her arms around them, not that she would stay sitting up anyway. She laid on her back and folded her arms over her chest, looking up at the ceiling.
"...Are you okay?" Riku asked after a few minutes, looking back at Lightning. He may have asked her when he came in the door, but he thought it might have come across that he wanted a deeper answer this time. If she could give him one, that is.
  • Author
Light hummed, keeping her gaze up at the ceiling. But the hum wasn't really an answer either way, so she said something else. "Define 'okay'," she said softly. If he meant was she alright physically, then she was alright except for how tired and drained she was. Emotionally...she didn't know.
"Emotionally," Riku stated, elaborating more. "Does this have you all screwed up too?" He wasn't sure if it was his head, his heart, or both, but he was a mess. Was she the same?

"Heh," Light laughed without humor, shutting her eyes. "You have no idea." She was trying hard to keep it together right now, but at least she was actually talking now. Before the confrontation with Maleficent, she was hardly speaking at all.
