Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku let out a weak laugh, glancing down at the ground. "Don't look at me like that," he asked of Light softly, feeling shyness erupt within his heart again. Didn't she see that he was referring to her? And their relationship? It may not have been as strong as Sora's with Kairi, but he was alright with that. They just started.

Light felt herself smile at Riku's shyness, and then she understood what he was saying. "Well, I guess one perk for me would be that you'll come rescue me from witches if I get in over my head," she said, not speaking Maleficent's name aloud. It still hurt to.
"It's the least I can do, given the sacrifice that could be made." Riku lifted his eyes to Lightning briefly, his amusement gone for the most part. She sacrificed her life for him, her freedom. Nobody had ever done that before. She cared...didn't she?

"But you went out of your way, and you could have gotten yourself killed," Light said, faintly shaking her head as she was serious. Riku sneaked into Maleficent's castle at night and then kidnapped her to get her out of there. And when the witch came to the island, even after hearing about Lightning's betrayal, he still fought to protect her. That was more than she could have ever expected.
"I've put myself in harm's way for people I care about before," Riku said, pushing himself off the wall. "You're no exception." He recognized that the aura was going from light to serious, and he wasn't sure what to expect. But he was going to be honest with Light. She deserved it.

"Riku...I betrayed you all," Lightning said, furrowing her eyebrows faintly at the confession. "My work brought back some of your worst enemies." Wasn't he at least a little mad about that?
Riku actually frowned at the reminder, not saying anything. His expression could be seen as enough of an answer. Yeah, some unpleasant memories popped up with what happened, but he would deal. He always had. Life had never exactly been easy for Riku.

"I even fought your friends to the point where I hurt them enough to knock them unconscious and carry them home," Lightning continued. When she was causing trouble, the other Keyblade wielders fulfilled their duty by trying to stop her. But when she always won the fight, she wouldn't kill them; she would take them back here. That had been extremely difficult, since she didn't want to run into anybody on the Islands. Fortunately, she hadn't.
"Like what you did with me," Riku added quietly. She knocked him out when he was in Maleficent's castle, just after she gave away her freedom. She brought him back home, which he had been unhappy about.

"Like what I did with you," Light repeated softly. That was exactly it. But she had knocked Riku out to get him out of Maleficent's castle before he did anything rash to try and save her, or before Maleficent decided to kill him. Both were motivation for her.
Riku leaned against the wall again, sighing as his eyes fell to the floor. So what was Lightning saying? That he shouldn't have forgiven her? He hadn't believed in forgiveness for crimes as severe as the ones she committed, but...there was something about her that made him feel the way he did; that made him forgive her without actually hearing an apology.

"Any logical person would hold a grudge for what I did, but you and your friends haven't done anything like that," Light said, furrowing her eyebrows slightly as she looked up at Riku. While she appreciated the forgiveness, she found it hard to believe that they were so ready to forgive her after all she did.
"Then consider us illogical," Riku said lowly, keeping his eyes on the tile floor. He and his friends weren't exactly normal, but that really wasn't an excuse. They were just different from everyone else, and saw the good in people. Especially his friends. Riku was the one to hold grudges, not his friends.

"You shouldn't be, though," Lightning said, faintly shaking her head. "I don't understand it. You've all seen the Darkness in the worlds and the wicked people out there, and yet you still see the good in everyone. Even your enemies." It didn't make sense.
"You're not an enemy, Lightning," Riku said, lifting his head to look at her across from him. She wasn't, especially to Ventus. Or him, really. They cared too much to consider her that.
  • Author
"Well, not anymore," Light mumbled, looking down to the ground. She wasn't any enemy to Riku and his friends any longer because she wasn't doing Maleficent's dirty work anymore.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at that, and he could only stare at Lightning. Why was she being like this? So hard on herself? She was forced to do that stuff against her will. Would she have rathered them kill her off instead of live her life freely, after defeating Maleficent?

"What you did was completely reckless, and it could have cost you your life," Lightning said without looking up to meet Riku's stare. "It would have undone everything that I did to save your life." And that would have...broken her heart, because she did care about Riku. A lot.
"I was trying to save yours," Riku said, his tone hard in defense. Why was that so bad? "Did you want to die?" She could have, if she stayed in Maleficent's hold any longer.
  • Author
Lightning blinked at the question, thinking that it was absurd. "No," she said. She didn't want to die, she just...didn't know. She wanted things to be solved somehow without Riku putting himself in danger. Or Ven putting himself in danger. She supposed that those were unrealistic expectations.
"I didn't want you to either, which is why I came after you," Riku said, restating something he'd obviously pointed out before. He cared about Lightning, more than he probably should have at this point. But he did.
  • Author
"You cared about my life more than your own, Riku," Lightning said, furrowing her eyebrows at the truth. "Did you even think about how devastated your friends would have been if you died when you carried me out of Maleficent's castle that night?"
"...No," Riku admitted lowly, looking away. He hadn't thought about it at all. He just...left. He hadn't thought of what Sora or Kairi would have felt, or anyone else. He just thought of himself, and Lightning.
  • Author
"It's unwise for you to...care so much," Light said, faintly shaking her head. "You put your own life in jeopardy because of your emotions, and if things didn't turn out the way they did, you could have died. Your friends can't survive without you around, Riku."
"My friends don't need me," Riku said tightly, though he kept his eyes lowered to the ground. "That was why I chose to stay in the Darkness after Sora woke up. He was strong enough without me, and could protect Kairi."
