Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Are you kidding me?" Lightning said in disbelief, looking up at Riku now. "If it wasn't for you, Sora wouldn't have woken up in the first place. Or done as well as he had with the Organization. He said you planted clues along the way and led him down the right path. And now you're saying your work wasn't needed?"
"Once the clues were set in place and Sora figured it out, he was fine," Riku said, closing his eyes for a moment. "He was strong enough and angry enough to take down Xemnas. Even when Kairi tried telling him who I was, I wanted to get away. At that point, I was just a castaway. All I was was Darkness." He shook his head, opening his eyes to glare at the ground. "I couldn't keep myself close to them."

"If you were just Darkness, then you wouldn't have had the power to do anything good," Lightning said realistically. "And your friends loved you; that's why they wouldn't let you leave." Full of Darkness or not, he was still Riku.
Riku glanced up at Lightning, but then looked away. "We're...we're not talking about this," he weakly stated, pushing himself away from the wall and starting out of the bathroom. He was still a mess over what he did in his past; he didn't want to start talking about it again. But he wouldn't be surprised if Lightning followed him and continued on with the conversation.

Light furrowed her eyebrows, starting after Riku once he walked out of the bathroom. "Why not?" she challenged. "Because you know I'm right, and that your friends would be lost without you? Why is it so hard for you to admit your life is worth something, Riku?"
"Just...stop talking," Riku said firmly, still walking away, his footsteps echoing against the wood floor. He didn't want to discuss this, at all.

Light reached out and grasped Riku's wrist when he was still walking, hoping to stop him. "Not until you answer my questions," she said. She wouldn't back down from this painful subject; Riku forced her to talk about her past a while ago, and now it was his turn.
Riku stopped, but turned around a little to look back at Lightning. "Let go," he said, his eyes hard as he tried to fight his emotions. He didn't want her to see his vulnerability; it was never something that set well with him.

"No," Lightning said, lifting her eyes to Riku's hard ones. She knew that look, because when she looked in the mirror, she saw it in her own eyes. It was a mask meant to keep people out.
Riku's jaw flexed in frustration. "Let go, Claire," he said, his voice firm. He didn't feel like opening up, not today. But that probably didn't matter to Lightning; she seemed persistent.

Light blinked when Riku used her real name, and the surprise was enough that she loosened her grasp on his wrist a little bit. He said that he didn't plan on using her old name, but he just had. She wasn't sure what to make of that.
Riku felt Lightning's grip loosen, and he pulled his hand away. "...Sorry," he said softly, looking away. He apologized for using her real name, knowing how sensitive she was about that. It slipped.

Light nodded slightly, looking away. But after a second, she walked past Riku and started further down the hall. This talk was over now; she didn't feel like prying information out of Riku after he just sank as low as to use her real name to get her to back off.
Riku lifted his hand to his face and exhaled a heavy breath. Stupid, he silently cursed himself. It was like a game of tag. One minute she was in pain, then he was, and then Lightning was again. Will this ever stop?!

Lightning went for the front door and softly made her exit, stepping outside. But she didn't go far, just going over to the porch swing. She silently sat down and stared off at the area in front of her, almost wishing to go back to Cocoon where she had a simple life.
Jasmine came up and licked Riku's fingertips, and he took his hand away. "No, Jazz," he said. He didn't want to play. The boy walked a few feet forward before grabbing onto the banister, going upstairs.

There were a lot of benefits about living on Cocoon. Lightning had friends there, and maybe she could get her job back. Serah was there, but...Ven wasn't. Even if he aggravated her sometimes, she knew she had to stick around to develop the relationship she always wanted with him. And Riku...she cared about him, which was why she was so offended by him calling her that name.
Riku went upstairs and approached his room, though he didn't bother closing the door. He approached his bed and collapsed on it, staring up at the ceiling once he turned over on his back. He messed everything up. That was what he was good at.

But Lightning had given him permission to use that name. She just hadn't expected it to be used in that context. He technically hadn't done anything wrong, it was just...hard for her to be called Claire. Because she believed she was a different person now. Lightning.
"Maybe I should just fade into the Darkness," Riku thought aloud, staring at the ceiling. All he did was bring Darkness upon people's lives. Like Sora and Kairi, when he opened the door to the Islands and let the Darkness in. And now Lightning was affected too. He wouldn't forget that.

Lightning pushed herself up from the seat, softly going back inside the house. She had been wrong to walk away; she had given him permission to use that name, so she had no reason to walk out. Right? She peaked her head into the living room to look for him, but only Jasmine was there. The dog saw her but then ran past her, going into the hall and to the stairs. Light followed her there, arching a brow. What, was Riku upstairs?
Riku lifted an arm and covered his eyes with it, sighing. Sora would kill him for thinking like that, though Kairi wouldn't be as harsh; she would smack him in the arm and scold him for saying such a thing. But it was what he believed in sometimes, when things were bad and out of place.

Jasmine ran up the stairs, so Lightning followed her. The hall was empty and all the doors were open, but Jazzy ran to one doorway in particular. Riku's bedroom. The girl stepped forward, though she stopped in the doorway when she saw Riku's position. This only confirmed that she shouldn't have walked away.
Riku sensed Darkness nearby, recognizing that particular scent by now. "...I can smell you," he said softly, his voice low in the quiet room. He kept his position, unmoving just because he didn't seek the energy.
  • Author
Light shouldn't have been surprised when Riku said that he could smell her, but she was. She thought her l'Cie brand kept him from smelling her too much. But whatever. She started forward and sat on the edge of the bed next to Riku, eyes on him.
