Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku felt the bed give in to her light weight, but he still didn't move, though he fought the urge to. He wondered what she wanted, since he clearly hurt Light's feelings when he called her by her real name. He hardly expected her to come up here, in his room.

Light looked down at Riku, though she looked at his chest instead of his face. "...I gave you permission to use that name," she finally said. "I overreacted by walking away." That was what she wanted to believe, for Riku's sake. She didn't want him feeling bad about this.
"I used it for the wrong reason. The apology still stands," Riku said, not uncovering his face with his arm. He didn't want any trouble, but with stupid comments like that, he asked for it. The anger was well-deserved.

Light nodded faintly, lifting her hand and placing it on Riku's chest with little pressure. "Alright," she said softly. "Apology accepted." He just said it because she was getting under his skin; she knew he didn't mean it, even if it did hurt.
Riku swallowed at the gentle touch, but still responded in the same low tone. "You sure about that? I'm not one that usually expects forgiveness so quickly," he said softly. After all he'd done, sometimes he didn't expect forgiveness at all. But people surprised him.

Lightning looked down at her hand, nodding faintly even if Riku couldn't see her. "You only said it because I was getting under your skin," she said softly. "I have a rough past too, remember? I know the stupid things you do to keep people from digging too deep into it."
"Yeah?" Riku asked, letting his arm fall. His eyes opened to find Lightning, seeing how close she was. "Like what?" What did she do besides put on a mask, which he somehow got through?

"Like walking away," Lightning said softly, looking up to Riku's face. "Pretending it doesn't affect you. Acting sure in what you believe even when you're in doubt. And wearing a mask so nobody knows a problem exists at all."
Riku didn't say anything at that, just gazing up at Lightning as he lay on his bed. She was right about that, a lot of it. He'd done some of those things, but not every one. She obviously had more experience in this category.

"You're the one who told me not to run away," Light said softly, referring to her problems, "but you weren't following your own advice, were you Riku? You're still trying to get away from your past." Her voice was gentle with him, and knowledgeable.
Riku looked away, turning his head to gaze out the window. "...It's haunting," he said softly. He saw it every day, and felt it and smelled it. The Darkness was everywhere.
  • Author
"I know," Lightning replied, her voice still gentle. Riku had a right to be upset; he had a terrible past, and he had to live with it every day. Lightning was the same. Every time she saw Ven, or a fire in a fireplace, or anything that reminded her of her parents, it was like she was experiencing that horrible day all over again. It was impossible to forget or ignore.
"Don't tell Sora..." Riku requested, bringing his hand up to Lightning's arm and feeling her hand still against his chest. Sora couldn't know, or Kairi. They would be worried.
  • Author
"Riku..." Light said softly. "...You can't hide this from them forever." They were his best friends; they had a right to know about what was going on with Riku. Maybe they could help him.
Riku turned his head to Lightning, his eyebrows furrowing. "If they find out, they'll worry about me," he told her. "They've done enough of that lately." He didn't need them worrying over him because he couldn't forget his past. That was stupid. He was the one who needed to deal with it. Alone.
  • Author
"It seems like they have a right to worry about this," Lightning stated gently. "You're still sensitive about it, after all this time." From what she understood, Riku first had trouble with the Darkness a few years ago. And yet it still haunted him badly enough that he was acting like this.
Riku moved his hand down Light's arm a little, his eyes on her. "Just...don't, okay?" he said softly. "At least for now." He'd get over it soon, and it wouldn't bother him for a while. It was Maleficent that stirred this all up again.

Light looked down at Riku's hand on her arm, considering it. "...For now," she agreed with a faint nod. She wouldn't say anything unless Riku got really bad, and she would be able to tell if he did. She knew the signs like she knew the back of her hand.
Riku nodded, his eyes staying on Lightning's pale-blue ones. "Thanks," he said with a small sigh. He just didn't want his friends to worry. True, he hadn't seen them in a few days, but he usually took time to himself after battles.

Light nodded faintly, looking back up to Riku's face. She hoped she made the right decision concerning this; she did care about Riku, so she wanted what was best for him. But maybe alone time was what he needed. As long as she could be alone with him, then she was fine with that.
Riku let his hand remain on Lightning's arm, just gazing at her. He was scared of someone seeing him so vulnerable, especially her. He usually didn't care what people thought about him, but she was an exception on yet another level.

Light gazed at Riku's face for a few moments, her hand remaining on his chest. She guessed they were alright now, which was good. "I told you we'd still bicker," she said with a weak smile, trying to lighten the mood. Even as a couple, they still fought.
Riku smiled weakly at that. "Unfortunately," he agreed quietly, running his hand over Light's arm once. He hoped it didn't get too bad; he didn't want any more trouble, especially with Light. He felt closer to her.

"At least none of our fights have gotten too bad," Light said with a weak smile. They always seemed to make up soon afterward, no matter what the case was. Neither of them wanted to hold a grudge against each other.
Riku's small smile fell a little at that, the boy thinking back to Agrabah briefly. He nodded a little, his grip tightening slightly on Light's arm. "I don't wanna argue," he admitted. He'd done enough fighting for now; he just wanted peace.
