Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Sora rubbed Kairi's back lightly, the teen looking at what he could see of her from his position. "I'll try to come back," he said optimistically, his voice soft and gentle at the same time. The letter didn't say he couldn't stay away from home during this whole thing. "That is, if you want me to," he added quickly. As nice as it would be to see each other, he knew that the goodbyes would be hard.
Kairi thought about what Sora said, about if she would want him to return to the Islands. And the answer was a no-brainer. "...I'll want to see you," she told him quietly. "To know that you're okay." They couldn't communicate from world to world with their hearts, unfortunately. The only way she could really be sure he was alright was if she saw him with her own two eyes.

"Kai, I'll be fine," Sora promised softly. This journey hopefully wouldn't be too dangerous in the first place, and if things ever got out of hand, he had Riku to back him up. There was no way that he was going to get hurt this time around...he was sure of it.
Kairi nodded faintly against Sora's neck, knowing he was right. But still...she couldn't help but be worried. Her soulmate was leaving her to go take on another dangerous task, full of Darkness. That was never comforting to know, but what could she do? Nothing. That's what.

"I'm strong enough to face this," Sora assured Kairi softly, thinking that she was pondering over his recent experiences in the Darkness. He had been...vulnerable a lot during that time. Not in battle, but with his heart. The Darkness had been eating at him then, affecting his emotions and judgment from time to time. On this journey, things would be different.
"I know," Kairi whispered in a hushed tone. Even if that was true, she was glad that Riku was going along for the trip. He would look out for Sora, just as Sora would surely look out for him. That was why they were best friends, and that was why she loved them--each in a different way, of course.

Sora shut his eyes at Kairi's response, his hand running over Kairi's back once more before it stopped. There wasn't much else he could say here...He was leaving tomorrow, and so he needed to get a lot of things done before he left. He needed to make sure Kairi was alright first, then take care of his parents, and then make preparations for the trip.
"Sora," Kairi said softly after a small moment of silence. "I...know you're upset with Riku for going with you." She could tell by the looks on his face earlier, and the things she felt in her heart back on the islet. He wasn't happy about somebody else going, but still, she had her reasons for bringing it up.

Sora nodded slightly, his eyes remaining shut. "Yes, I am," he said simply, not denying it. Riku had no reason to go in the first place; this was a solo mission. Did he not believe that Sora could take care of himself? He was so sick of Riku acting like he needed to be protected all the time.
Kairi opened her eyes then, staring at what she could see of the water nearby. "And I know that you don't want him to leave when we just got back, but..." She tightened her grasp on Sora's shirt before continuing. "I don't think he wants you to leave either, so he wants to go with you so you don't have to do this alone." That was how she saw things anyway, other than Riku wants to look out for him. They were like brothers, so it made sense to her.

Sora waited for a few moments, listening to the waves as he compiled his thoughts. There was another reason he had wanted Riku to stay behind; one that he hadn't said to anybody earlier. "...If he stayed back, you could deal with this more easily, couldn't you?" he asked softly. Kairi was losing her boyfriend and her best-friend over this, and he had figured it would be easier for her to cope if Riku stayed behind.
Kairi hesitated a moment before replying, trying to figure that out herself. "...I don't know," she answered softly. Would she? She honestly didn't think so. Would she rather have Sora go alone, or lose Riku too so he could go with Sora? Maybe the latter would be better, because then they would have double the strength and power to fight. And besides, if Riku stayed, he would be pacing around for days out of the need to leave. It wouldn't be right...

Sora opened his eyes, staring down at the ground. He knew that the question came out of nowhere, so he would stay silent and let Kairi think things over before she answered more completely. After all, today they had time; as far as he knew, they had planned to spend the whole day together.
Instead of directly answering the question, Kairi had one of her own. "Do you think he has the right to go with you?" she asked quietly, truly curious. From what she understood, Sora didn't want Riku to go because he wanted him to have the chance to stay home and live life normally. But Riku also proved a point in saying that he wouldn't have a normal life as long as he had the Keyblade. So...what did Sora think now about everything?
  • Author
"...It's his call to make, not mine," Sora said aloud, realizing that he was unfortunately correct. He wished he could make this decision for Riku, but he couldn't do it. Riku was older than he was, and he had always been antsy to get away from Destiny Islands. The brunet supposed that neither of them were really wired for a normal life, and they had been that way ever since they received their Keyblades.
"Mm." Kairi didn't really know what else to say other than that. She never liked there to be tension between Sora and Riku, but she guessed that there was a good reason for there to be some now. This was an extremely important mission, because it dealt with three people's lives. And all three could hold the Keyblade. This would be life-changing, which scared Kairi a little bit. And with that thought in mind... "I think you'll need him, Sora."
  • Author
Sora looked down at Kairi, his embrace around her loosening a little bit in surprise. "Why?" he asked, wondering how she reached that conclusion. This mission would involve fighting, yes, but he had been fighting by himself for a while when he was in the Darkness. And he had done it while protecting Kairi, too, which made the fighting harder. Didn't she think he was strong enough?
Upon feeling Sora's hold on her loosen up, Kairi pulled back a little. She kept her grip on his shirt with both of her hands, but she moved her head so she could look him in the eye. "I know what you're thinking...and I don't believe that it's really about strength," she told him gently. "I think it's more that he doesn't like to be left out of things."
  • Author
Sora diverted his gaze to the ground, having a feeling that Kairi was right. Riku never said no to anything that involved excitement, and that frustrated Sora. Couldn't he at least pretend to have a normal life for a little while? "He's so stubborn," he muttered without thought, recalling how his argument with Riku had gone earlier that day.
"That may be," Kairi agreed with a small nod. "But I do think he's right..." If Sora wanted to know what she meant, she would gladly tell him. She had her reasons for believing Riku should go, and it was more than strength in numbers.
  • Author
Sora heard Kairi trail off, and he figured that she would eventually find her voice again and say her thoughts. That was why he remained silent, his eyes finding her and silently prompting her to continue speaking.
"None of you, including Roxas, will ever really be normal," Kairi continued, her eyes gazing into the ones she loved. But then she lowered her gaze to her hands against him. "And...as sad as that is to admit, you can't play pretend. You have to let those who have your responsibilities take them on alongside you." Kairi finally lifted her eyes to meet Sora's again. "What I'm trying to say is that Riku should go with you, because he needs to. If there are three other warriors who need your help, would it be that bad to have your best friend with you through it all?"
  • Author
Sora looked down at the ground, being silent. Dang it, why did Kairi have to have so much wisdom when it came to this kind of stuff? Unfortunately, he knew that she was right...Riku was coming along because he saw it as his responsibility to help. He had a choice, and he was choosing to be responsible not only for the sakes of the three missing Keybladers, but also for Sora's sake. It would have been really hard and stressful to do it by himself...
"So...even though it'll be really hard to see both of you go," Kairi continued after a second, her eyes still on Sora's face, "it's your duty as Keyblade Masters. I can't keep you from that..." They had to go, both of them, whether she liked it or not. Whether Sora liked it or not. It was just how things were.

This is so unfair, Sora thought silently, keeping his feelings to himself. Obviously it wasn't fair, but he had to find Terra, Aqua, and Ventus. And for some reason, it was really important for him to find out more about all of them. It almost felt as if he knew them, but he felt like that wasn't possible. He just felt close to them because they all wielded Keyblades; that must have been it.
