Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light frowned and clasped her hands behind her back, glancing down at the ground after that. She wasn't upset with Riku; how could she be when he was just trying to protect her? She was just worked up over the situation. Seeing everyone older reminded her of how much she really didn't belong in this time period.
"...Look," Riku finally said after a moment, his hand resting on the back of his silver head. "I know you're perfectly capable of protecting yourself, but...I just don't feel comfortable with this. I don't want you to get hurt. There's always that chance." He was just thinking logically, right? Or was it something else?

"There is," Light agreed with a faint nod. She always knew that there was a chance she'd get hurt. She almost expected it with every situation. "But there's also a chance this is the only way to set things right." She needed to go back to the past and be with Riku so he wasn't so alone anymore.
"I know, but..." Riku tried, but then he shook his head, sighing. "...I don't like it. The thought of you getting hurt..." It tore him up inside. He'd seen her hurt before, and he hated it. He didn't want the same fate for her again.

Light's eyes softened as she looked down at the ground. "The end will justify the pain," she said quietly. Even if she did get hurt, even severely wounded, it didn't matter. Just as long as she survived this and went back to the past.
Riku didn't say anything, just lifting his head to look at her again. He lowered his hand from his head to his side and stood there, silent. What could he say to that? It was true that once she traveled through the vortex, none of this would have ever happened. But, he still didn't want her to get hurt. Her pain was his pain...because he loved her.

"...Whatever happens here, it's only temporary for you," Lightning said, lifting her gaze to Riku. "You won't remember any of this, because to you it will have never happened." But Light would never forget any of this. Ever.
"That doesn't seem fair," Riku said softly. He wanted to remember at least some of this, like the day he saw Light again. That had been one of the happiest moments in his life. What he wanted to forget was the rest, especially Warp and his goons.

"It's just how things are," Light stated softly. "There's no way you'd possibly remember a future that never happened." Lightning would be the only person able to recall any of this when she went back to her own time. This future would vanish once she went back.
Riku looked away, instead gazing up at the castle. "...I guess this future isn't as bright as I'd thought it would be a few years ago," he admitted, and somewhat bitterly. He had planned on being happy, and hopefully being with Light. But that hadn't happened. Instead, he was the opposite: unhappy and lonely.

"It'll be brighter once I go back," Lightning said, furrowing her eyebrows slightly and looking off to the side. At least, she hoped it would be. Her name itself reflected brightness, whether she was called Lightning or simply Light. But the former, it flashed bright then faded away. The latter remained. Always.
Riku nodded slightly and looked back to Lightning. "When you go back, tell me what my life was like without you...that way I don't let you go," he said, eyes showing his sincerity. Life without Lightning was darker than it normally was, and boring, and all around awful. He had to remember that, even in the past.

Light smiled weakly, though she was touched by what Riku said. She didn't quite know how to respond to it, so she cracked a joke. "You might be too stubborn to listen to me," she joked softly. Riku was awfully stubborn.
"After seeing you disappear through a portal and not knowing what came of you," Riku started, tilting his head slightly, "I think I'll listen." He smiled ever so slightly, believing he was right. He remembered screaming her name when she disappeared through the portal, and how scared he was. He was sure his past self would listen, after making sure she was alright, of course.

"Right," Light said, her weak smile fading away. She remembered that day clearly, probably more clearly than Riku could. But she hadn't heard the holler, or anything else after that. She was already in the vortex by then.
Riku's smile faded away when he saw Light's do that same thing, the twenty-three year old just gazing at her. He wasn't sure what to say now, since the topic wasn't a pleasant one. I just got her back, and now I have to say goodbye?

"I can't wait to see the look on your face when I go back," Light said, her weak smile returning as she looked up at Riku. Of course, she was talking about the Riku in the past, who wasn't sure what became of her. She wondered what his reaction would be when she returned alone soon after she vanished.
Riku lifted an eyebrow slightly, taking a small step forward without thought. "What're you expecting?" he asked. He was curious, since he never actually saw his face when strange things happened, or surprising events took place; he was always facing it and needing to overcome it.
  • Author
"I dunno," Light responded honestly, shrugging faintly. She just...wanted to see the old Riku, because then she'd know she would be able to set things right. But of course, she liked this Riku too, very much so. He was extraordinary, in the past and the present.
Riku smiled warmly at that, though he wasn't sure why. "I would tell you to expect the same one I wore when I saw you this time, but...you can't exactly remember," he said. He'd been wearing his mask after all; she hadn't been able to see his face.

Light arched a brow, though she understood what Riku was saying. "Try recreating the expression now," she challenged. Then she'd be able to compare it to what she saw when she returned.
Riku's smile grew a little, and he shook his head, his sight dropping to the ground. "Uh...I don't think so," he disagreed softly, lifting his sight to Light as he peeked under his lashes. He wasn't about to make a fool of himself.
  • Author
"Aw, c'mon," Light encouraged, feeling surprisingly lighthearted. She wanted to see it pretty badly; she wasn't sure why, but she really, really did.
"Nah, I'll pass," Riku said, dismissing the request with a wave of his hand as he moved back to focus on the ship just behind him. He didn't think he could do it right, anyway. He'd just make Lightning laugh. As amazing as it was to hear her laughter, he didn't think he could really do it.
  • Author
Lightning walked up to Riku quickly, getting between him and the ship before he could get into it. "Nope," she said, smirking slightly and lifting her arms to keep him from getting past. He was going to show her the expression; she wouldn't let it drop now.
