A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things ) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

 

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way.

 

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

 

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

 

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

 

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh?

That sounds...depressing, Riku thought in silence, not knowing how to respond. But at least he had Jasmine. The thing was, he wasn't lying in the letter; he and his friends really were separated. And it was probably because of Warp.

"...What else do you want to know?" Lightning asked, lifting her gaze to the boy sitting a few feet away. She didn't know how else to describe Riku without any more prompting questions. But she'd answer any more questions that he had.

Riku stared at the letter, wanting to know a lot of things, but he didn't know how to ask them. There was something he did need to know, however. "What message did you have to give me?" he asked, turning his head to look over at Lightning.

Light blinked at the question, looking away. "Uh..." she said dumbly. She knew what the message was, but how was she supposed to say it? Just be forward with it and say it the same way Riku did to her?

Riku tilted his head a little, curious. "...Is it bad?" he asked. Light was hesitating, so it had to be...right?

"No, it's not bad," Light said, faintly shaking her head. "It's just really, really bold. You can handle that, right?" She looked over at him, a weak smile on her lips. Riku dished out boldness, so he could hopefully take some in return.

Riku smirked a little. Bold? "Yeah," he said with a small nod. He could handle it. He was curious as to what it could be, but he was about to find out.

Light's faint smile grew at Riku's smirk, but she looked back down as she told him what his future self said. "He said...to never let me get away, and propose as soon as you can...because you'll never love anyone as much as you love me." She blushed at the confession, not sure if Riku would notice. They hadn't told each other that they loved each other yet, not in this time.

Riku blinked at that, the words echoing in his head. Propose? Love? He really said those things? The boy lifted his free hand to scratch his cheek, staring out at the water as he felt his face begin to burn. Wow. That was bold.

Light glanced over at Riku, able to tell he didn't know how to take that. "If it helps, I didn't know how to react to that either," she said with a shy smile. It took her a second before she said something not directly related to what he confessed, though it was similar. She told him she loved him.

Riku laughed weakly once, turning his head to look at the girl that he obviously loved in the future. "So you just left?" he asked, trying to lighten the slightly-awkward moment. His face was still on fire from him blushing, something he hardly ever did, so he was glad it was dark out.

"Nah," Lightning said, shaking her head slightly and smiling weakly at Riku. She could tell he felt awkward, but what she was going to say next wouldn't help anything. "I said I loved him too." Because she did. She loved Riku, in the future and the present.

Riku blinked at the words, his gaze instantly dropping to the sand. "Oh..." he said, not knowing how else to react. Wow. Just...whoa. He could feel his face getting hotter with every word Lightning said, but was that good...or bad?

Light smiled in shyness, turning to look forward again to give Riku some privacy. She didn't expect him to say it back, because in this time, they hadn't said it to each other yet. But she just did say it. She loved him. And she didn't regret it.

Riku felt confusion suddenly wash over him as the waves rolled in, his eyes going out to them as he held the letter in his grasp. What did that mean for him and Lightning? Did she love him, or the person he was in the future?

Light's smile faded away as the silence continued, the air not exactly light. "Riku?" she asked softly. He didn't have to say it back, and her voice reflected that, but she was wondering what he was thinking.

"Sorry," Riku said upon hearing the call, shaking his head a little. "I'm just...lost in all this." He was still trying to wrap his mind around all the letter said, and what Light said as well. It was a lot to take in at once.

Light smiled sadly, nodding as well. "I know how that is," she said quietly, though she wasn't sure if that was meant to comfort Riku or if it was said for her own sake. She was still really lost as well. Honestly, it was a little strange being around this Riku again after spending so much time with his older self.

Riku took in a breath and lowered his gaze to the letter in his hand. He started to fold it back up and once that was done, he slipped it into the envelope. Riku stared at it for a moment before he pushed himself up, the sand naturally falling from his clothes. "Tell me something..." he requested then, staring at the moonlight reflecting on the water.

"Mm?" Lightning hummed in question, turning her head to look at Riku as she released her legs and set her hands in the sand. What did he want to know now?

"Ever since you told me the message, I can't stop thinking about what version of me you loved," Riku said, voicing his thoughts softly. "So...is it this me, or the one you confessed your love to?" He lifted the letter, staring at the envelope that had his name written on it. So, was it him? Or the other him?

Light smiled softly, her nerves going away once she heard the question. That was one she could easily answer. "It's both of you," she responded softly. "Who you are now, and who you'll become. I love both of you." And that was the truth.

Riku turned his head, lowering the letter to his side. "...You do?" he asked softly, not knowing how else to respond. Light...loved him? Really?

Lightning's smile weakened, but it remained present a little as she hummed and nodded to Riku. Yes, she did love him. She was sure of it. When she first realized he saved her in Destiny Islands, she was so ecstatic. She would never forget the first time she saw his face then, when she was running low on hope. He was what kept her going throughout that whole thing.

Riku's heart skipped a beat at the nod, and he could only smile. "Light..." he said breathlessly. The older Riku was right... She was his Light, wasn't she? She had been his motivation for so long, and she must have been in the future as well. And he wanted to propose to her? That was...amazing.
