Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning's arched brow stayed raised, the girl looking from the letter to Riku's face. "I'm not following," she said, lightly shaking her head. She didn't understand what he was saying. Was she really tired, or was he just being unclear?
Riku smiled a little, knowing he would have to come right out and say it. "He told me you did it for me too," he said softly. For his future, so it was better than the one he had then.

Light's eyes softened, her eyebrow lowering once Riku put it out there. "Yes," she said quietly. "I did." And she wasn't ashamed of that. Honestly, that had been her focus the whole time, not the worlds. She knew that the worlds being in Darkness would correct itself when she went back, so she wasn't overly concerned with it.
"But...why?" Riku asked, his smile fading as he looked back to the letter in his hands. "Why was my future so important, over everything else?" What about everyone else's lives? Why was he so special?

Light found herself smiling, her gaze going back down to the letter in his hands. "Because I love you," she answered quietly. Wasn't it obvious? And it helped she did see his state in the future, and she felt somewhat responsible. But mostly, it was because she loved him.
Riku swallowed at the confession, feeling his cheeks warm a little. "I still gotta get used to that," he admitted softly, turning his head in the opposite direction so Lightning wouldn't see his blushing cheeks.

Light smirked slightly, though it wasn't necessarily at what Riku said. "Your older self didn't blush when I told him I loved him," she said. "He smirked and said 'I know'." It was so cocky, but sweet. Lightning supposed she already showed she loved him through her actions.
Riku shook his head as he laughed, though his blush remained since Lightning pointed it out. "...Guess I still got some growing up to do," he thought aloud. The older version of him probably was grown up enough to not feel shy or insecure about anything.

Light lowered her legs, leaning forward slightly and setting a hand closer to Riku's knee. "You've got time," she said, giving him a pat. There was no rush for him to grow up.
Riku nodded slightly with a small hum, turning his head to look at Lightning. "Right," he agreed softly. Time... It would be on their side now that Warp was gone, wouldn't it? Maybe then he could be with Light every day, and get to work on becoming stronger for her.

Lightning took back her hand, leaning into the back of the couch as she sat beside Riku. "You grew up well, despite your circumstances," she said softly. She was proud of him.
Riku smiled weakly, his eyes resting on Lightning's pale blue ones. "Let's hope things turn out well for this future too." The last one was obviously rough on him, but maybe that was a good thing. To make him stronger in the long run.

Light smiled weakly, looking down towards the ground. "You'll turn out fine, I'm sure," she said. "Things couldn't have gotten much worse than they had for that future." She knew he'd be alright...Whether she was in his future or not. He would turn out to be a great person.
"I'll take your word for it," Riku said with a small nod. Light knew him pretty well, even a part of him he didn't know existed until today. But he knew things in his life could be unpredictable, because of the Keyblade. Hopefully nothing too harsh occurred.

Light nodded slightly, though her expression started turning somber. In the future, she and Riku discussed whether it was fate for her to stay in that time or not, or if they were meant to send her back. They chose the latter, especially after things turned fatal for those around them. But...what if that was meant to happen? What if fate forced it to occur some other way? What if...she wasn't meant to be in Riku's life? If that was the case, she would probably have to be killed to be taken away from him. Unless their relationship took a turn for the worst.
Riku set the letter to the side, his content expression changing into one of confusion and worry when he saw the look on Lightning's face. "...What's wrong?" he asked softly, leaning a little closer to her. Was she thinking about everything, and how sad it was? He could imagine; that future was awful, and Light had to see it firsthand.

Lightning didn't really want to answer, but she knew Riku would prod her until she spilled. "It's just...I know all of you live for at least the next five years; it's fate," she said softly. "But I don't know if I survive. Or if I'm even meant to." She vanished for five years, after all. Maybe that was Fate trying to tell her she wasn't meant to be alive, or something.
Riku's eyebrows pulled together, the boy blinking at the confession. "...What?" he said quietly, not able to believe that. Why would Lightning think such a thing? She just survived something horrible, and now she was already questioning the new future?

Light didn't look up at Riku, staring at the letter he still held. "I was taken out of your life for five years," she stated softly. "What if that was Fate? If I wasn't meant to come back from that time, then Fate will take me away some other time."
Riku lifted his hand and grasped Lightning's, holding it tightly. "Don't say that," he said. Fate wasn't that cruel. It couldn't tear them apart.

Light didn't bother saying anything, able to tell Riku didn't want to consider the possibility. She hadn't wanted to either, just like she didn't want him dying on her in the future. But some things, she had to face. Like this.
Riku leaned closer to Light, tilting his head as he looked at her. "Lightning...you're finally back, and we're together," he said softly. "Why would you let something like that get to you?" Now, of all times?
  • Author
"Sorry," Lightning said softly, not looking up. "I have a lot going on in my head right now." She couldn't help but dwell on almost everything that happened in that future, however unpleasant it was.
Riku lowered his gaze to his hand on top of Light's. "Right," he said softly. While it was seconds for him, it was weeks for her. This was a big deal. A really big deal.
  • Author
Lightning nodded ever so slightly, her gaze shifting to her hand under Riku's. She wanted to be with him, but what if she wasn't meant to be there with him? Fate had been cruel to her before with her Focus; anything could happen. Tragedy surrounded her wherever she went most of the time.
