Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku heard that soft breath, and it made him open his mouth to speak. But no words came out, so he pressed his lips together and furrowed his eyebrows, continuing to stare up at the ceiling.

Light fell asleep a few minutes later, her thoughts not hindering her from getting the rest she needed. She was a soldier, trained to push her emotions aside so she could function. That was what she was doing now.
Riku closed his eyes after a little time passed, listening to Lightning's even breathing. That was how he knew she was asleep, and it was good that she was; she needed some peace. Everyone did. What Jafar and Hades were stirring up was hard to deal with day after day, but they would figure out something eventually. Just like he and Light would figure things out between them.

Light slept for a few hours, sleeping peacefully until a little after one in the morning. She furrowed her eyebrows slightly in her sleep, her dream haunting her. It was Destiny Islands, whether in the future or in the present. It was frozen all the same, and the sight horrified her. I was supposed to change this...
By this time, Riku had his hand tucked under the pillow his head was resting on, his body facing the woman he loved. He slept lightly, as he always did, though his exhaustion was becoming relieved at what sleep he was getting.

Lightning stared at the monster that froze Destiny Islands, until she heard somebody call out to her. When she turned around to face him, she unknowingly rolled over on the bed so she was facing Riku. And that was exactly who she saw in her dream, only it wasn't the Riku she expected to see. It was the future Riku, and she felt her face twist with sorrow when she saw him. She failed him.
Because Riku was such a light sleeper, that small movement was enough to wake him slightly. That, and he heard the crickets outside the cracked window. Riku took in a soft breath, wanting to get some more rest, but knowing that it was probably no use.

Light stayed where she was, though she noticed the world around her change so that she and Riku were the only things that remained the same. They were in his bedroom in the Land of Departure now, and despite how everything around them changed, they still stared at each other. Light looked at him through moist eyes, not saying anything. How could she, when Riku had expected so much out of her and she gave so little?
Riku exhaled a small breath and opened his eyes, first noticing the moonlight coming through one of the windows in the room. But his gaze was on the person right in front of him, on the other side of the bed. And the look on her face... "Light?" Riku said softly. She looked so...sad. But why?

Light shut her eyes in sorrow, hearing how Riku said her name. She was unaware that he really spoke to her in reality, not just in the dream she felt was so real. I'm so sorry, she wanted to say. But no words could make up for anything. Riku sent her back to her time because he believed she would make a difference, but she didn't. His world still got frozen, and he was still miserable. It was all her fault.
Riku furrowed his eyebrows a little when he didn't get a response, and by the saddened look on Lightning's face, she was clearly still dreaming. Or having a nightmare. Riku lifted his hand that wasn't under the pillow to her face, gently brushing some of her pink hair away from her cheek. What was wrong?

Light felt the urge to cry when Riku came over and brushed his fingers over her cheek, her eyes staying shut. How could he possibly show affection like this towards her? He knew she failed in her goal. Somehow, she was face to face with him now, in his future. And from what she could tell, everything was the same. She hadn't made a difference at all.
"Lightning..." Riku called softly, pulling his hand away a little to sit on her cheek lightly. She was having a nightmare, that much he could tell. He didn't want her to suffer through that, so it would be best to have her wake up.

"I'm so sorry," Light said pathetically, feeling Riku set his hand on her cheek. She wished so badly that she could have changed this, but she was powerless to do anything. She was weak and unreliable.
Riku bit on his bottom lip for a second before he scooted over a little, closer to Lightning. He kept his hand on her cheek, though he was closer to her face now, his just inches from hers. He ran his thumb over her cheek, his eyes on her. What was she dreaming about that was so awful?

"Y-you expected me to fix this," Light said, eyebrows furrowing slightly as fought the moisture behind her eyes. Riku was being silent, though his actions spoke louder than words ever could. How could he want to be close to her after she disappointed him?
"...Light," Riku called again, his voice still soft with her. He didn't say anything more than that, simply because he didn't know what to say. Lightning was still asleep, and he wanted her to wake up; the look on her face was killing him inside.

Light shook her head softly, that action not occurring in the real world. "You shouldn't have depended on me. I'm not...strong enough." She cried several times in the future, something she rarely did, and she was about to start crying now. She was such a failure.
Riku moved a little closer to Light, lifting his arm from her face to her back. He gently and carefully brought her closer to him, her head now in his chest slightly. He looked down at her, his other arm out from under the pillow and lifted to the back of her head.

Light felt her defenses go down when Riku embraced her, her eyes staying shut as she leaned her forehead against his warm chest. She started crying softly in sorrow, feeling pathetic. What she didn't know, though, was that all her emotions from the dream were also shown in real life. Even the tears.
Riku looked down at Lightning, and because of the moonlight coming through the window, he thought he saw tears. He tightened his hold on Light at the sight, the boy lowering his lips to the top of her head, his hand on the back of her head going over her pink hair.

Light cried softly, Riku's embrace too gentle for her to handle. "I don't deserve this," she said mournfully. "You shouldn't...comfort me." And he shouldn't have loved her. She wasn't good enough for him.
Riku kissed the top of Lightning's head, listening to her softly cry and seeing the tears fall. Her nightmare must have been horrible, because she was never this vulnerable. She hadn't been since something was really wrong, with Maleficent.

Light stayed quiet when Riku didn't respond, her quiet crying continuing for a little while. She just wanted permission to do one thing, and one thing alone: give up, and depend on someone else. Could she do that?
Maybe that was how things were. Lightning was struggling, and Riku failed to notice it until now. He pulled his lips away from her head. "I'm such an idiot," he muttered under his breath. How could he let her suffer like this? He wasn't making things easier.
