Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"You were upset, and I couldn't do anything about it," Riku replied gently, his eyes still resting on Lightning. "So...I just held onto you. It was the only thing I felt like I could do right then." He was being honest, because waking her up...Riku wasn't sure if that would have been the right thing to do.

That was...real, Lightning thought, still looking down towards the ground. She always was a light sleeper, so Riku's actions permeated her dreams without her even realizing it. But, did that mean..."Did you...talk to me, when I was sleeping?" she asked quietly.
Riku blinked at the question, but his eyebrows remained furrowed a little. "Yeah," he answered with a small nod. "I did." He told her she wouldn't be alone anymore, no matter what she did. He would be there.

Light felt her blush increase, her embarrassment also rising. "...This is humiliating," she murmured. She never cried, ever. She was weak last night, and Riku caught her when her mask was down. She thought she would still be composed in her sleep, but she wasn't.
Riku shook his head a little, disagreeing with that. He didn't speak, though; what could he say? He knew that if he was caught in that position, he could possibly think the same thing. But he loved Lightning, and she loved him. They were comfortable with each other...right?

"Sorry," Light mumbled, furrowing her eyebrows slightly as she looked down at the ground. "I was too weak." She wasn't just referring to the crying, but to something else he didn't know about, unless she talked in her sleep. She failed to save his world, which would probably mean she would fail to change the future so it was brighter.
"No you weren't," Riku disagreed, shaking his head again. Lightning was one of the strongest people he knew. Even after all she went through, she was still strong, and still good at heart. He admired it.

"Yes, I was," Light said, furrowing slightly as she still looked at the ground. Still am, she added mentally. She was wearing a mask still so she didn't show Riku what was really bugging her. He hadn't seen through her act completely, had he? He probably did.
"Stop putting yourself down, Light," Riku said. He lifted his hand, setting his fingers under her chin so she would look at him. He loved her, didn't she see that? Regardless of her insecurities or flaws.

Light put up the mask a little bit once more, feeling like she had no other option when her eyes met Riku's. She trusted him, a lot, she just...didn't like being vulnerable. Or getting sympathy she didn't deserve.
"You say you're weak, but everyone experiences vulnerability," Riku said, his eyes on Lightning's pale blue ones. "Do you remember how vulnerable I was in front of you in the past?" With Maleficent being around, and how complicated their relationship was, and how he couldn't get over his past. She was there for him through it all.

"You didn't cry," Light mumbled. She cried in front of him more than once, and she got more physical wounds than he did. She must have appeared so vulnerable to him all the time.
"It doesn't matter," Riku said with a small shake of his head. He moved his hand from her chin to the lower side of her face, his fingers resting on her neck a little as well. "You were there for me through all of it, anyway."

Light shook her head softly, though that shouldn't have affected Riku's hand. "Because you were worthy of it," she said softly. Riku had such a great heart. He loved his friends and was very selfless most of the time. He was strong and brave and way too good for her.
Riku smiled weakly, but not only because of the comment; he was thinking something that made him smile as well. "You are too," he told Lightning softly. She always would be.
  • Author
Though Riku smiled, Light did not. "No," she disagreed softly. She wasn't worthy of Riku's love or his faithfulness. He had a heart of gold, but she didn't. She was broken.
"Yes," Riku countered instantly, his smile fading a little. Lightning was worthy of his care and his support. He wouldn't have it any other way. But why was she so against it?

Light shook her head softly, lifting a hand to take Riku's away from her face. "No," she repeated quietly, diverting her gaze. Just...no. She was so screwed up. She had a messed up past and she was messed up now because she couldn't forgive herself for disappointing Riku, even if he didn't know it. She failed the person she loved.
Riku glanced at his hand when Light's moved it away, but his eyes immediately went back to her face. "...Why?" he asked softly. Why wasn't she worthy of something so good, something he was willing to give her?
  • Author
Light released Riku's hand when his and hers were both down, her gaze on the ground. Why? There were a few reasons. "I'm not good enough for you," she said softly. He had a heart of gold, and she was just...messed up. She didn't know any other way to describe it.
Riku blinked at that, though his eyebrows immediately furrowed over his eyes. "What?" he asked in disbelief. That was...ridiculous! Of all the worlds he'd been to, nobody caught his eye like Lightning did. That had to mean something.

Light kept her gaze down, hearing Riku's tone. "You're selfless, devoted to your friends, confident, and...incredible," she explained quietly. And you're not a screw up, she added mentally.
Riku shook his head a little, confused. "Light..." he said softly, though he didn't have anything to continue with. Was she saying that this was it? She wanted to end it, right here and now? She told him she wasn't good enough for him, but Riku didn't see it that way at all.
  • Author
"You deserve someone better," Light concluded softly when Riku trailed off. She wanted Riku, because she loved him, but she just...couldn't. Because if she did, wouldn't she dragging Riku down with her? She didn't want that, ever.
Riku looked away at that, his hands tensing into fists. "I..." he started, trying to assemble his scattered thoughts. He loved her, and Light was just walking away. At least, that was what it felt like. "...I don't want anyone else."
