Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku focused on his fingers gliding through Lightning's hair, though he did feel Light's gaze on him. "...I just want to make sure everything turns out alright," he said softly. He didn't want the future to be a bad one, especially for her. She deserved so much better than what she went through.

Light shook her head softly, though that shouldn't have interrupted Riku's gesture. "You shouldn't worry about it," she said softly. "Things should come naturally enough for you." He didn't know much about the future, so it didn't affect him much. But since Lightning knew so much more, it was that much more of a burden.
"Let's hope so," Riku said, running his fingers through Light's hair one more time. He then let his hand rest against the back of the bench, his eyes going to her. She didn't seem so happy anymore, and he wanted to make sure that things turned around for her in the future. Their future.

"...Even if things are rough, you'll turn out alright," Lightning stated quietly. The future she went to, Riku went through terrible circumstances, and yet he turned into a great young man. That would be the case this time around too, if worst came to worst.
"Mm," Riku hummed softly, his eyes on Lightning's. "What about you?" If he turned out alright, she had to be there beside him. Right?

Light looked away this time, though Riku was looking at her. "There's no way to know," she stated softly. She hadn't existed in the future she went to, so she couldn't see how she grew up. She hoped she would turn out good.
Riku nodded a little, though his eyebrows furrowed as he gazed at the one he loved. There wasn't any way to know, she was right about that. But Riku would make sure to keep Lightning in his life. He didn't think he could survive losing her.

Forget about turning out "good", Light thought. She wasn't even sure she was meant to make it five years into the future. There was no way to know that, either.
Riku lifted his hand from his lap and put it on Light's face opposite him, gently turning her head so he could see her better. He read that expression, and he knew she wasn't thinking optimistically.

Light hummed, looking over to see Riku's face. She could tell by his expression that he was reading her, and she realized she hadn't tried to put up a mask to hide her emotions. She wasn't sure if that was good or bad, but oh well. Too late now.
"Tell me what you're thinking," Riku requested softly, his hand on Light's cheek as he looked at her, his face just inches from hers now as he studied her. He wanted to know. Right now wasn't a good time to be negative, but if it was how things were right now, he would try to help.

Light shook her head softly, her eyes on Riku's now. "Nothing," she muttered. She and Riku talked about this before a few times, or at least once that she could recall. There was no way to take away these concerns of hers.
Riku frowned a little, keeping his hand on Light's cheek. "It's not 'nothing'," he said softly. It never was. Whatever she was worried about, he wanted to know. He loved her, and because of that, he wanted to help carry what weight was on her shoulders.

"It's nothing new," Light corrected herself softly. "Just wondering what my place is in the grand scheme of things." That was all. And, like she told herself, there was no way to know that.
Riku furrowed his eyebrows at that, letting his hand fall from Light's cheek at that. "...It's right next to me," he said softly. Or so he thought. He didn't want to sound like a sap, but that was really what he thought.

"I hope you're right," Lightning responded quietly. Because there was really no other place that she wanted to be. Riku was very important to her now, as close to her as she was with the people she considered her "family".
"I am," Riku said softly. He would make sure that Light had a place beside him. If she didn't, he felt that he wouldn't really be...complete.

Light nodded ever so slightly, not wanting to argue with Riku. There was no way for him to know for sure, but she was positive he would do everything he could to stay with her. They weren't going to give up on each other.
Riku leaned back a little, allowing some space between him and Light. He tore his eyes from her face and instead looked up at the stars, not knowing what to expect. He knew Hades was going to be difficult; he managed to freeze the Islands, after all. But they had to do it, no matter what. They needed their home back.

Light turned to face forward on the bench, slouching a little as she moved her head to sit on Riku's shoulder. She rested it there and gazed out at the area in front of them, exhaling a soft breath.
Riku felt warmth within his heart, something only Light could provide. Everything would be alright. He just knew it. If not, he would make it happen. He wasn't about to lose what grip on happiness he had.

I wonder...if he will propose, Light pondered, the randomness of the stray thought surprising her. It was true she passed on that message, but the Riku in the future was a lot more romantic than this Riku. Surely the Riku beside her wouldn't easily follow that advice.
We need to head back, Riku thought. Even if they just sat down, they weren't exactly engaging any kind of conversation or activity. But, maybe that was all they needed: the silence. He liked just being with Lightning, but now...he felt a little odd.

Lightning shut her eyes, listening to the soft sounds of the night. This may have been her childhood home, but she didn't consider it home now. Where was home? ...She didn't know. Maybe after this, if Destiny Islands couldn't be saved, she would go to Cocoon. But what would Riku do?
Riku kept his eyes on the stars, though he moved his hand closest to Lightning to her thigh. He ran his thumb over her skin as his hand rested there, but he didn't say anything. He didn't need to.
