Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku glanced away, his hands curling into fists. "I get it," he replied lowly, his voice still tight. "For you, it was..." He didn't finish, but instead switched his thoughts to his own opinion. "None of it was a lie to me. Everything I said was the truth, and everything I heard I believed." He took a small step toward the woman he loved, the person who was slowly breaking his heart. "...I'm not giving up on us that easily."

Light shut her eyes, hands curling into tighter fists by her sides. "Riku..." That was all she could say, her tone holding sadness. He was making this harder than it had to be. Why couldn't he just give up on her already? She wasn't worth the effort.
"You know what, I'll prove it to you," Riku said, determination coming through in both his tone and expression. "I'll prove that we're meant to be together." He would give Lightning the proof that she needed to see that his love wasn't a lie, and neither was hers. "I'll join the Guardian Corps."

Light opened her eyes, her pale blue eyes showing her surprise. "W-what?" How on earth would that prove that they were meant to be together? Was he just trying to prove he'd do something ridiculous and join the army for her?
"You heard me," Riku said with a nod, staying where he was. "I'm not giving up. I've gone through enough alone, and now that I have you, I won't lose you." He took another small step toward her, his voice holding confidence. "I'll be actively involved in your life, with or without the Guardian Corps." He wouldn't let her push him out of her life completely. If this was the way to make sure of it, so be it.

No...this wasn't the way it was meant to go, Light thought. "One problem with that plan," she said, relieved she could think on her feet. "You have no place to live." How did he plan on sticking around if that was the case?
Riku frowned, looking away. He hadn't thought of that. Couldn't he live on-base, if he got in? Yeah...that could work. Maybe.

"Well, obviously he'll live here," Serah said from the doorway. She had been standing there for a few minutes, lunch already prepared. She saw the peeved and startled look Lightning gave her, but she continued. "If he's so bent on staying on this world, then he'll need somebody to help him transition into this life." And that somebody would be Lightning.
Riku glanced over his shoulder at Serah, but then he looked back to Lightning. He saw the look on her face, and he knew she didn't like the idea, but he didn't care. He loved her, and she loved him; they were meant to be together. This would prove it. I can handle your lifestyle, Riku wanted to say. Just give me a chance. You'll see.

Lightning opened her mouth to protest, but Serah cut her off. "And don't say there aren't any spare bedrooms," she said. "You know my room will be available as soon as I move in with Snow." That day would come soon, hopefully. She turned to Riku, speaking to him. "Until then, hopefully you won't mind the couch." She was sure he wouldn't have a problem with that.
Riku shook his head, glancing back at Serah. "Not at all," he said. He'd slept in worse places. "Thanks." He owed her for this. She was helping him out, which he appreciated.

Serah nodded to Riku, shifting her gaze to a startled and annoyed Lightning. "As soon as you're done fuming, you can come get your lunch," she said, her tone almost motherly. She put up with Light's antics before; she knew how to act when stuff like this happened. She turned around and started walking away when she didn't get a response, planning on making a call to Lieutenant Amador for Riku's sake. She had to get him into the Guardian Corps.
Riku looked back to Lightning once Serah was gone, and he saw the look on her face. "Sorry...but I'm not going anywhere," he said softly. He took a step back, having a feeling that Light wanted to be alone. "...Love you, Light." He smiled weakly and then turned around, leaving the room.

...You've got to be kidding me, Light thought after a few moments. Serah seriously was teaming up against her on this? She didn't even know Riku! Regardless, Serah was even more stubborn than Lighting; she couldn't argue against her. She exhaled a heavy breath through her nose, frustrated. She was stuck.

The next day

Riku stood to attention, standing in a line of cadets just like himself. After a phone call to Amador, courtesy of Serah, Riku had to go talk to the Lieutenant about a place in the Guardian Corps. He got in, but he was actually taking this seriously. Dressed in the uniform, which was much different than his usual attire, including a hat, he stared straight ahead. It was time to be given orders.

"S-sir," Lightning said to the Lieutenant, not believing what she was hearing. Lieutenant Amador took her off patrol duty and instead was giving her instructions to train the rookies. And one of those rookies was her ex-boyfriend. But judging by Lieutenant Amador's expression, he didn't want to hear her protests. She nodded slightly and put on a formal expression, holding her arm horizontally across her chest and saluting him.

Lieutenant Amador walked over to the line of new members, looking over all of them. "Today's your first day of training," he said to them. "I leave you in the care of Officer Farron. She'll be teaching you the basics." He waved for her to come forward, and she did, standing right beside him.

Riku kept his hands at his side, though he did glance over at Lightning before looking forward again. Officer Farron? She was just Lightning to him...and he wanted it to stay that way. But, maybe it wouldn't, at least while he was here at the academy for training.

Lightning glanced over and saw the Lieutenant walk away, and she shifted her gaze back to the trainees. Ugh, why did she have to be stuck with this job? It would have been unpleasant enough even without Riku involved. Regardless, she would treat them fairly. "How many of you are familiar with gravity bombs?" She doubted many, if any, would be.
Riku didn't answer, and none of the other cadets did either. Had he ever witnessed Lightning use a gravity bomb before? Probably not. If he did, he would have known what one was. He stayed silent, staring straight ahead.

Lightning furrowed her eyebrows slightly, nodding. "Follow me," she said, turning around and starting to walk. There was a shed nearby, and she would need to get the technology for each cadet. It came in two forms, and they would be practicing both today at different locations. She remembered this from her own training.
Riku, along with the other cadets, followed Lightning as they were told. None of them spoke, and he knew why: they were nervous. He was a little bit too, because this was an environment he'd never been in, especially with Lightning. But altogether he was fine, and would be. Riku had to be, to prove to Light that they were meant to be.

Lightning opened the shed door and stepped inside, reaching for a bag that contained the gravity bombs. She put one of the straps of the bag over her shoulder, the backpack not extremely heavy. She thought about asking one of the cadets to carry it, but she held onto it instead. She stepped outside, glancing at the cadets before seeing a water spring nearby. "It's a long walk where we're going," she said. "Fill up your water bottles and drink it only when you need to. This is the only chance we'll have to fill up today."
Riku was one of the first few to get done filling his water, and when he was done, he turned around and started back toward Light. He spun his water bottle in his hand, smirking at her as he approached. "How's the first day, Officer Farron?" he asked. It felt odd calling her that, but he guessed he had to.

Light folded her arms over her chest, frowning at Riku. "Don't get too casual, cadet," she said. "Any other officer would have tortured you for smirking at somebody of superior rank." And she was being serious.
Riku lifted an eyebrow. "Tortured me how?" he said quietly, holding his water bottle in his grasp. What, would he get fifty lashes?
