Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light nodded faintly, not overly surprised. She waved for the cadet to come forward, glancing behind him and seeing that the other cadets were going to take him as a leader pretty soon since he stepped up to the plate for things. Either that, or they would call him a teacher's pet.
Riku lowered his hand, walking forward the couple yards that separated him and the other cadets from Lightning. Concentrate. Don't stare. He had to keep reminding himself, that way he didn't tick off Lightning or get himself in trouble with someone of higher power.

Light kept her eyes on Riku, focusing on her role as a teacher and his as a student. She never expected to be teaching him anything, but he set himself up for this. When he stopped in the center of the circle with her, she had already taken off the devices from her fingertips. They sat in the palm of her hand as she lowered her other one and grasped Riku's wrist, lifting it. She held onto it and started placing the two circles on his fingers, her eyes following the motion. "All you need to do to activate them is snap."
Riku swallowed at the way Lightning's touch made him feel, knowing deep down that it probably meant nothing to her. Not anymore. Stop it, he thought. He couldn't think like that, not now. "Mm," he hummed softly, nodding once as he looked at the device. He could do this.

Lightning looked up, seeing the look in Riku's eyes. "Don't do this to yourself," she whispered, sure the other cadets couldn't hear her. Riku was torturing himself by being in her presence. He could still back out of this.
Riku stared at Lightning for a moment, his eyes stuck on hers. "...I want to prove myself," he said just as quietly. He didn't want her thinking he was weak, or that he couldn't handle her lifestyle. He would do this, for her.

Light swallowed, looking away and releasing Riku's wrist. "Turn it off by pressing the two buttons together," she said, getting back on track. "Your momentum controls everything. Remember that."
Riku looked down at the device on his fingertips, nodding once again. Right...the training. He needed to focus. He kept his spot in the middle of the circle, glancing up at Lightning briefly. He was ready.

Lightning silently nodded, glancing up at Riku before she turned and walked away. She exited the circle and stood by the recruits, folding her arms over her chest and looking at Riku. She actually couldn't wait to see how this would go.
Riku stood with his back to the others still, but he turned his head, looking at the targets to his right and left and in front of him. He would focus on the one to his right first. Riku snapped his fingers, feeling the device activate instantly. A blue aura then covered his body, which felt lighter. Okay.

C'mon Riku, Light thought, surprising herself. She did want Riku to succeed, for the sake of the rest of the cadets. She needed to find a leader amongst them, to encourage them to not be frightened by the new challenges. Right now, that person was Riku.
Riku grunted, going for the target to his right. He turned his body in midair and managed to put his feet to the target's chest, his body parallel to the ground. He then lifted his head, seeing the one straight ahead. Pushing himself off the first target, he soared toward the second, but that was where he made a mistake. Riku underestimated the control of the device and his own gravity, which threw off his momentum when he pushed off the second target. His eyes widened when he didn't turn his body in time, instead going back toward the target he hit first. Riku knew instantly what was coming, so he tucked his chin and squeezed his eyes shut. He grunted when his body impacted the target, the boy bouncing off of it and landing roughly on the ground. Ow.

"Hmph." Light muffled a laugh, a smirk starting to form on her lips. It wasn't a rude one; even her cadets could tell that. She was a little disappointed Riku didn't succeed, but he did better than expected. And he could take a hit, so she was sure that he was alright. So, it was alright to be amused.
Riku winced, sucking in a breath as he opened his eyes. The sky was above him, so he knew he really did just fail. Great. He sat himself up with a grunt, seeing that his body was still glowing with the blue aura. He pressed the two pieces of the gadget on his fingers together, making the aura disappear. Riku's eyes lifted then, instantly finding that everyone was still staring at him, even Light. And why was she smirking like that?

"Not so easy, is it cadet?" Lightning asked her student, walking forward to check on him. She started making her smirk vanish, knowing that as an officer, she should have remained serious. But she had seen Riku's confident look before, when he didn't realize just how hard it was to control yourself using this device.
Riku shook his head, setting the hand without the gadget on the ground to push himself up. "Not exactly...Officer Farron," he said in response, making sure to add the last bit because of the other cadets. If it was just him and her, he would have called her what he usually did: Lightning.

Lightning held out her hand to take the devices from Riku. He was done for today; they'd receive more formal training in this area another day. "That's good enough for now," she said to him, lifting her gaze to his face.
Riku slipped the gadget off his fingers, then placing them in Lightning's open hand. He looked from her hand to her face, but he didn't stare long; if he did, it would be obvious to the other cadets. He walked past her, to stand with the group.

After Riku was done, Lightning led the rest of the cadets through the use of the Grav-Con Unit, though none of them did as good as Riku had. It took some time, and after that, she looked up to the sky and saw that it was lunch time. They all had things packed in their bags, and most were smart enough to have at least half their water left. While they ate, Lightning grabbed her own sandwich and sat right by the edge of the cliff, legs dangling over the edge as she stared out at her home town. She had to plan on what they would do the rest of the day.
Riku leaned against a rock, sitting near a few other cadets as he ate an apple. He conversed with them a little bit, and they were good guys, but he couldn't help but think of Sora and Kairi. They probably weren't happy that he didn't mention his stay here on Cocoon, but he would find a way to see them soon.

...I've got it, Light thought after a few moments. She knew this would need to be done eventually, so she could get it done today. This was something she could actually have fun with. Once she had her idea, she started nibbling at her lunch, secretly eavesdropping on the group behind her. They were all boys, and young. They must have been surprised that they had such a young officer, but Lightning was a good soldier. She worked hard to be promoted to this position.
Riku bit into his apple again, the boy lost in his thoughts about his friends. He was so into them that he neglected to notice the few people he was near staring at Lightning and whispering. If he would have been paying attention, he would have known what they were saying, and it involved her skills and looks. Especially the looks.

Light "hmphed" softly to herself, her ears picking up on the boys talking about her. She felt their gazes on her, but there was one gaze she didn't feel on her. That was Riku's. What, was he too busy glaring at the boys who were talking about her?
Riku knew Sora and Kairi would understand. They were his best friends; they wouldn't judge him too harshly for his decision. He was okay with it, because he got to be near Lightning. That was most important, though he had to hide it here, around the other cadets.

Best to ignore it, Lightning thought, hearing the boys keep on talking. She kept eating, subtly listening into the conversations. She was starting to get to know these boys, both by their actions and by their words. It was easy, since it was such a small group.
