Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku smiled a little and nodded, then taking the time to put more food in his mouth. Serah looked genuinely happy, and even though they just met, he was glad to see it. Someone deserved happiness these days.

Serah shifted her gaze to Lightning, who was subtly listening into the conversation. "You'll help with the preparations, right Lightning?" She did have a choice in the matter, but she hoped her sister said yes. "I want you to be a part of this."

Light lowered her fork to the plate, looking up at her little sister. "I wouldn't know what to do," she said honestly. She never helped with a wedding before, and she knew her sister literally wanted her in the wedding. She still needed to go dress shopping for that. Crap.

Riku had never even attended a wedding, so he had nothing to add in. Like Lightning, he didn't know what any of that stuff consisted of. If he were in her shoes, he would have been stuck too.

"Just plan to take off a few days in the near future," Serah advised with a smile. "We're going shopping. And Riku..." She shifted her gaze to him. "You'll have to come too, to get some formal clothes." Of course he was going to come to her wedding, and hopefully as Lightning's date.
Riku coughed slightly, bringing a fist to his chest as he fought to stop choking. He swallowed his food and looked up at Serah, surprise in his eyes. "What?" he said dumbly. Why would he need any clothes like that?

Serah chuckled at Riku's reaction, surprised he even had to ask. He was like Lightning in that way, missing such an obvious point. "You'll be coming to the wedding, won't you?" she asked. "As Lightning's date?"

That's it! Light thought in anger. She pushed her chair away from the table and walked away abruptly, steaming. Don't I have any say in whether or not Riku and I will be back together in that time? Stop trying to force me to be with him!

Riku's wide eyes narrowed, the boy watching Lightning go. "Uh..." he said softly, once she was a good distance away. He glanced over at Serah before looking back to the woman he used to call his girlfriend. "...Guess not."

Lightning opened the front door, walked out, and then slammed it behind her, letting Serah know that she pushed her too far this time. She didn't bother worrying about shoes; she ran around barefoot a lot. And running was what she started to do, despite her tiredness earlier. She was going to the beach.

Serah followed Lightning with her eyes, letting her go. "She'll soften up to the idea eventually," she said softly. Her sister loved Riku; that was why she was fighting so hard not to get back together with him. She was afraid of love.

"Doubt it," Riku said, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms as he looked toward the living room. "She hates me." He wasn't sure what he did to make her break up with him, but it was obviously something he shouldn't have done. And now she barely spoke to him or looked at him unless she was forced to. Maybe this was a mistake.

"Riku," Serah said with a sigh, pushing her plate aside and leaning on the table as she looked at her sister's ex. "Trust me, she wouldn't be this worked up if she hated you." It was obvious to her that Lightning loved Riku, more than she ever loved any other friend that came into her life. This was meant to be.
Riku lifted an eyebrow in question. "You're sure about that?" he asked, finding it hard to believe. Light was uptight about a lot of things, and now he was one of them.
  • Author
"Of course," Serah said without hesitation. "She just...doesn't want her heart to get broken. That's why she ended it. She got scared." That was unusual for Lightning in battle, but relationship wise, she wasn't so surprised. Light lost a lot of friends in her life. It was hard for her to let people in.
Riku lowered his gaze to the table then, his eyebrows furrowing deeply. "She knows me..." he said softly. "I wouldn't do that." He would never break her heart. He couldn't imagine doing such a thing.
  • Author
"...Not on purpose," Serah agreed softly after a moment. But Lightning had told her about how she felt like she couldn't match up to Riku's friends, and in a way, that broke a part of her heart. Riku probably didn't know about that, or see it that way.
Riku kept his eyes lowered, taking in the way Serah said what she did, and why she said it. "What'd I do?" he asked her, closing his eyes. He must have done something. Something offensive. But...he didn't know. He hadn't meant to...

"That's something you'll have to ask Light," Serah responded softly. She already said too much; it wasn't her place to reveal everything to Riku. The rest he would have to hear from Lightning.
Riku sighed softly, but nodded nonetheless. Alright then, he thought. He would have to go talk to Light...but he'd give her some time alone. He was around her all day.

"It'll be alright," Serah assured Riku soothingly. He obviously believed he and Lightning were meant to be, or else he wouldn't have been here in Cocoon. As long as he didn't give up on her, they'd be fine.
Riku nodded again, opening his eyes to look across the table at Light's sister. "Thanks, Serah," he said. They just met yesterday, but she was already being good to him. He appreciated her help.
  • Author
"Mm," Serah hummed with a nod and a small smile. It was no big deal; Lightning was her sister, and the two sisters always watched out for each other. Serah wouldn't let Light throw away the best thing that ever happened to her.
Riku smiled weakly before he sat up in his chair, allowing himself to finish the dinner Serah made. After all, he was still hungry. Light's behavior hurt, but it wasn't enough to make him lose his appetite.

Light collapsed on the beach once she reached it, sitting down in the sand. The sun was close to setting, and she wanted to see it go down. She wanted to see this day come to an end. But the sand and the waves and the sun...it all reminded her of the sunsets she watched with Riku on his beach. In his arms. And it made her sad.

The next day

Riku sat in a wide room on base, the boy's arms crossed over his chest as he watched a cadet walk over to join his mentor. They were all being assigned their own today, with Lieutenant Amador's own special announcements. He was curious as to who would be his, though it could have been anybody.

"Steven will be with Officer Harper," Lieutenant Amador continued, motioning to the man who would be the soldier's mentor. Harper was a good, intelligent man. In fact, all of these recruits had great potential, so they had great mentors. Officer Farron, who was standing at the end of the line of officers, would be a mentor for the first time. He couldn't wait to see how well she did.

The cadet joined his mentor as well, and Riku could tell how nervous the guy was. Officer Harper was a pretty big guy, but he looked nice enough, especially by the friendly nod and smile he offered his newest student. Riku glanced down at the end of the line, since there were a few more mentors to be given students. Light was there, though he hadn't expected her to be a mentor. He didn't know Officers were required to be any.
