Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lieutenant Amador continued down his list, assigning the rest of the cadets to their mentors. One of the officers couldn't have been there that day, so that cadet had the day off. As that cadet walked out, Lieutenant Amador called out his last pairing. "Riku's mentor will be Officer Farron."

Light remained composed, though she wasn't happy. Seriously, nothing was going her way here. Not only had Lieutenant Amador informed her that the squad of new recruits was hers to train, but she also had to be a mentor to Riku. This would be hard.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed, his eyes darting from Lightning to Lieutenant Amador. He nodded slightly and uncrossed his arms, getting up from his chair. He then approached Lightning, standing beside her but not looking at her; he knew how uncomfortable she would feel, and probably felt now. He could just sense it off of her, if not read it.

"Cadets, respect your mentors," Lieutenant Amador said, looking over all of them. "They have a lot of wisdom that will help you develop your battle skills." He nodded slightly to them, seeing that the officers seemed ready to get to work. "Dismissed."

Lightning lifted an arm across her chest, saluting her Lieutenant. He made this choice based on the scores she gave on Riku's battle skills. But Light had a feeling Fate was messing with her, and that wasn't a pleasant feeling at all.

Riku kept his arm over his chest in salute as well, looking ahead as Lieutenant Amador walked out of the area. He then lowered his arm alongside the others, the teen releasing a small breath. Well, now what?

Lightning lowered her arm once the Lieutenant was out of sight, a soft, slow breath leaving her lips. She glanced along the line and saw other Officers already leading their cadets away, and she knew she had to take care of her own trainee. "Come on," she said to Riku, turning and starting to walk out of the room.
Riku didn't hesitate following Lightning out, the boy looking at the back of her head blankly. After last night, he wasn't sure what to think of things. He'd only been here two days and, well, it wasn't going how he hoped.

Lightning led Riku out, where she already had a few swords waiting. She wanted to see how good he was with various weights and types of weapons. She was even going to let him try her gunblade later. She stopped on the deserted beach, no other people within sight. "I want to see how well you can handle different types of swords," she said, turning and looking at Riku. "We'll get to all of them, but pick whichever one you want to try first."
"Right," Riku said softly, approaching the swords that were set out for him already. He looked them over, recognizing a few based on the design; he'd seen them while he was out traveling the worlds, when he was in Darkness. He'd already experienced with one, which he used the day before in training. It was like his Keyblade, so he already knew he could use that one. He grabbed one that was a bit heavier and wider, holding it up in front of him as he examined it. This one would do.

Light nodded faintly, stepping back and pulling out her gunblade. "This won't be a real match like yesterday," she said. "Just think of it as a spar match. Get a feel for the sword." She wanted to see how naturally it came to Riku, using different weapons.
Riku turned around, twirling the hilt of the sword in his hand. "Got it," he said with a nod, lifting his eyes to Light. Nothing was as comfortable or familiar like his Keyblade, but he would have to get over it.

"Alright," Light said with a small nod, getting into her stance. "Come at me." She was ready for him, and they wouldn't be aiming for each others' bodies anyway. She was only going to be deflecting his attacks.
Riku smirked, though it was in a proud fashion. "If you insist," he said, reaching up with his free hand to take off his hat; it was distracting. Once he threw it on the sand, he tightened his grip on his sword and grunted, taking off into a run. He closed the distance between himself and Lightning quickly, the boy swinging his sword with one arm.

Light smiled before she could stop herself, though the smile faded mostly when she blocked Riku's swing. The weight behind it made it seem stronger than any of the swings yesterday, the force making Light take a step back. But she was ready to block more attacks.
Riku lifted the sword for a horizontal attack, the boy grunting with the swing. This one was heavier than the last, but it wasn't difficult to use. He could handle it.

Lightning and Riku fought it out with that sword for a little while until Light had enough of that. "That's enough," she said, blocking another swing from Riku. Now she wanted to see some action with other weapons.
Riku pulled his sword away from Lightning's, hearing metal slide against metal briefly. He lifted his arm and wiped at the little sweat on his forehead before he turned around, walking away so he could grab the next sword of his choice.

"How do you think you did?" Lightning asked, lifting a hand and pushing her bangs out of her eyes. She wanted to know what he thought before she gave him her opinion.
"Not bad," Riku answered, putting the sword back on the table that had been dragged out here just for his weapons. "It's different than the Keyblade...but I think I did alright." The weight wasn't a major issue on the first weapon.

Light nodded faintly, having some more questions to ask. But these...were out of curiosity, not duty. "How do you feel without magic?" Did he feel more vulnerable, since he was used to combining physical attacks with magic ones?
"...Uncomfortable," Riku admitted, speaking over his shoulder a little before he focused forward again, down on the table. Without using any of his magic, battle felt off to him. He'd always had a combination. But now he couldn't. Riku moved to one of the lighter swords, since they were set up thinnest and lightest to thickest and heaviest. He would switch it up a bit.

"I noticed yesterday you keep a tight grip on your sword," Lightning said, revealing an observation to Riku. "It seems like you've already got it in your head that once you throw a weapon away, it won't come back to you." That was good.
Riku turned around, having a hold of a lighter sword. "These aren't the Keyblade," he said, lifting the sword a little to emphasize his point. He tossed it up and caught it by the hilt, swinging it a little. Yep, much lighter. "They don't hold any magical properties."
  • Author
"Not quite," Light agreed with a faint smirk. The Keyblade...It was an interesting weapon, that was for sure. In a way, she wished that she could hold it or wield it, just because it was so fascinating.
Riku glanced at Lightning, catching that smirk. He stared for a second longer than he probably should have at the sight, it being the first sign of a positive emotion, at least a little, he'd seen since he'd been here. "I'd rather not play fetch, so I'll keep a hold on what I've got," he said with a nod, starting back toward Lightning. Throwing the sword would be pointless, since it wouldn't help him any.

Light's small smirk faded, seriousness taking its place. "But you're bound to be disarmed sometime," she said seriously. "So how well do you know how to disarm people without using a weapon?" He could use the enemy's weapon as his own until he got his sword back.
