Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku's eyebrows furrowed more, his eyes showing his confusion. "...What do you mean?" he asked softly, taking a small step forward. He didn't understand.

"I know how important your friends are to you," Light responded softly. "So it is a big deal that you're staying with me instead of seeing them." She just didn't understand him. Why was he with her if it wasn't obligation?
"Sora and Kairi will understand," Riku said in his own defense. It wasn't like they would really know anyway; they didn't know when he would be visiting or not. After all, he had no way of contacting them to let them know.

"...You would rather be with them right now, though, wouldn't you?" Light asked, diverting her gaze. She already believed she knew the answer to the question she asked. He wanted to be with Sora and Kairi.
"...If things were worse...yeah, probably," Riku answered honestly. If things between him and Light were absolutely awful, he would have wanted to leave for a little bit. "But things are okay for now, so I'm fine here. Besides, I don't feel like going anywhere." He wanted to be with Lightning.
  • Author
"You should be more than 'fine'," Lightning said, furrowing her eyebrows slightly. "You should be happy. And if that's not the case here, then you should go where you're happy." She was making it more and more obvious she didn't hate him, but that was okay. She didn't want him seeing things that way.
Riku frowned a little, his eyebrows furrowed over his aqua eyes. "So you want me to leave," he said, not asking it as a question. He never said he was happy, and she clearly caught on, telling him to go where he would be happy. Lightning wanted him to go, didn't she?
  • Author
"I want you to be happy," Lightning corrected. If that meant leaving, then yes, she wanted him to leave. But at the same time, she wanted to cling to him and never let go. That desire was something she couldn't fulfill, probably ever at this rate.
"Why?" Riku asked, his voice getting somewhat defensive as he started to lose the calmness that had settled over him for some time. "If that was really what you wanted, you wouldn't have pushed me away." She did that when she said it was over, fracturing his heart. He was angry, and sad, but he didn't show it. He couldn't be weak.

"I've told you a million times I'm not good for you," Lightning said, a tad bitterly. She wished that wasn't the case, but it was true. And to answer Riku's question... "...That fact doesn't change that I...love you."
Riku's hands balled into fists at the words, especially the last part. He was happy to hear that, but sad at the same time. "...Love conquers all," he told her, his eyes on Lightning's. "Ever heard of that? Even if you are bad for me, it shouldn't matter. It doesn't matter." Light wasn't bad for him, at least in his eyes.
  • Author
"It matters to me," Lightning argued. She kept on hurting Riku, so of course this all mattered to her. She wanted what was best for him, the person she loved. Even if it meant pushing him away so he could find true happiness.
Riku looked away, his teeth grinding together in frustration. She just didn't get it. He was truly unhappy when he wasn't with her, and he was the happiest he had ever been when they were together. How could she not have noticed?
  • Author
"Love means doing what's best for each other," Lightning said. "This is what's best for you." She had to keep telling herself that, over and over again, so that she actually believed it. Yeah, he was happy with her, but she caused him pain, too. Too much pain.
"...Don't you think I would know what's best for me?" Riku asked, turning his head to look back at Lightning. He knew his heart, and he knew what he needed. Light. The element, and the person. That was what she was.

Light looked away, still leaning against the wall and feeling tired from it. But she was emotionally stable, or as stable as she could be with these circumstances. She didn't know how to conquer Riku's argument, though. He did know himself best, after all.
"I know what I want, and what I need," Riku said, pointing his thumb at his chest to emphasize his point. "But there's one thing I want to know. What's best for you?" What did Lightning need, or want, to be happy?
  • Author
Light felt the emotions coming back, but it wasn't because of a drug. She lifted a hand and shielded her eyes once her head was lowered, her gaze not on Riku. "I don't know." Riku made her feel safe, loved, and special. She was just afraid that one day, he'd realize she wasn't so special or valuable.
Riku took a small step forward without thought, his hands still in fists. "...Why not?" he asked softly. Why didn't she know? What was so difficult about this situation? Why couldn't they just be together?
  • Author
"Because, letting you in is painful," Lightning confessed softly. "I'm....scared, of the pain that could come out of this." She was scared of getting hurt, rejected, or even loved in return. This new experience was frightening.
Riku's expression softened at that, and he didn't know what to say. He was...hurting her? Even when he didn't mean to? She's not bad for me...I'm bad for her. That was how it was.
  • Author
Lightning lowered her hand from her eyes, looking up and seeing Riku's hurt expression. "It's not because of you," she instantly said. "I'm seeing ghosts." She was making a big deal of nothing with his friends, wasn't she? So what if he loved them? He loved her too.
Riku shook his head, looking away. "It's alright...I get it," he said softly. He was the problem. Serah even hinted at that the other day. He did something wrong...and he wasn't making things easier by being here.
  • Author
"No, you don't," Light said urgently, coming off the wall and stepping up so she was right in front of Riku. "I'm not sugarcoating anything. I mean it." She wasn't lying to protect him; this really was her fault.
Riku looked down at Lightning, not knowing what to say. He didn't understand. First it was his fault, then it wasn't... He was confused, and all he wanted out of this was her! Lightning. She was worth the trouble of going through the Guardian Corps and everything else, but if he was making her unhappy, he didn't want to do it.
