Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

No point trying too hard to understand it, Light thought, shutting her eyes and exhaling a soft breath. There were a lot of things she couldn't put into words right now, including her desires. She knew she wanted to be with Riku, at least emotionally. But logic stopped her. She may have let go of her hurt at Riku being by Terra's side and not hers, but she still wasn't sure if she belonged with his group. They were all Keyblade wielders except for Namine. And Namine was specially connected to the group. Lightning...not so much.
Riku loved her. There was no doubt in his mind that he loved her. But what happened from here on out was up to Light. She knew he would never break her heart; it was too precious to him.

My personality's totally different from the rest of the group, too, Light silently thought. She was so serious all the time. And they were all more lighthearted. Sure, Riku was pretty serious compared to them, but...But if Riku can fit in with the group, then why can't I? We're similar in a lot of ways. His friends couldn't just accept him because of the Keyblade. They genuinely valued him. Could she ever be that close to the whole group?
Riku would wait. Even if Light said he was waiting on a relationship that wasn't meant to be, referring to his future self, he would still wait. He loved Lightning. He loved someone for the first time in his life... It wasn't easy to back out on.

There's a lot I need to do before that, Light thought, her breathing starting to become more even as she started dozing off. She needed to become a better person, one who wouldn't push away Riku. He made her want to be better.
Riku closed his eyes, the last thing he saw being Lightning as she rested on the couch. He hoped this wasn't a mistake. He was trying...and he hoped it was worth it in the end.

In that instant, right before Light would fall asleep, she imagined something. A dog coming over to the couch and licking her face. She grunted, opening her eyes and pushing herself upright. Looking down at the ground, she realized it was all her imagination. But the feelings in her heart weren't imagined. I miss Jasmine.
Riku heard the grunt, and that was enough to make him open one eye slightly. When he saw the look on Light's face, he opened his eyes fully and looked at her in curiosity. "What is it?" he asked softly. She looked...confused, and sad.

"Nothing," Lightning said, faintly shaking her head. Well, at least I'm not too tired anymore. She leaned forward after setting her feet on the ground and facing forward on the couch, grabbing a pad, pen, and some papers. She shouldn't have been sleeping anyway; she had work to do.
Riku nodded slightly, though he looked out the window when Light started on some paperwork. He wanted to be with her, but he felt like he was suffocating her. Maybe I should go for a little while. A run sounded nice, even if he didn't go along the beach like he wanted.

Light could tell Riku's gaze wasn't on her anymore, not that it really affected her anymore. She was sort of used to him staring. But if he was going to sit around and wait for her to finish her paperwork, it'd be a while. An hour or two, if she was lucky.
Yeah...Riku thought softly. He would go for a run. He pushed himself up from the chair he was sitting in and walked past the couch. He briefly glanced at Lightning and the papers in her hands before he approached the closet where he kept his bag. Reaching in, he pulled it out, and went into the bathroom so he could change into some running clothes.

Lightning glanced back at Riku curiously, wondering where he was going. Regardless, she turned around and got back to work with her papers. Riku could do as he pleased; she wouldn't order him around on his day off.
Riku came out of the bathroom, wearing a pair of comfortable shorts and a black tank. He set his bag back in the closet and then started toward the door, walking behind the couch as he passed. "Going for a run," he said to Light. "I'll be back soon."

Light looked to Riku when he walked by her, nodding faintly once the words registered. "Right. See you later." He probably knew to be back sometime for lunch and dinner, especially the latter meal. Serah would probably be home, and since he was their guest, she'd want him to eat with them.
Riku nodded slightly and opened the front door once he was in front of it. He shut it quietly behind him before taking the time to do some stretches. Once he left the property, he started into a light jog, knowing that the beach wasn't too far off.

Two weeks later

Lightning sat on the beach next to Riku, not afraid to be seen with him outside of training. All of the cadets knew by now that Riku lived with her, but it was told to them that Riku was Serah's friend. That was true now, since those two were getting to know each other, but Serah wasn't Riku's only friend now. Light was too. There was some tension between them every once in a while just because they weren't a couple, but Light was happy to at least be his friend. And she made up her mind on what future she wanted concerning Riku. She planned on telling him today.

Riku had his elbow propped up on one knee, his other hand resting in the sand beside him. He breathed in the salty air and stared out at the ocean, the scene reminding him of home. Everyone was still stuck in other worlds, and when he went to see Sora and Kairi last week, there still hadn't been any progress on rescuing the Islands. They, of course, told Riku not to worry about it, and focus on things with Light. Riku did just that, doing his best to make things easier here in Cocoon. He and Lightning were getting along pretty well, and he successfully fought any urges he had. He had to, that way he didn't influence Light's decision. Their future was her choice.

Light was sure that she didn't want to tell Riku the news here on this beach. It was too crowded. When she told him, she didn't want any distractions. It was important to her, just as important as her finding a way to save Destiny Islands. The others weren't having any progress with fixing it, not that she was surprised. After all, in the future she saw, they hadn't found a way to unfreeze it. It was up to her.
Riku felt himself smile slightly at the thought of her. Lightning... Claire. He'd called her by that name a few times, but not as a crutch in a fight or as a taunt. He liked calling her Claire; he felt closer to her that way. He just hoped nothing ruined it.

Lightning shut her eyes briefly, feeling a nice breeze blow across the beach and lightly shift her hair. But suddenly, her peaceful expression vanished. She sensed something in the air. She opened her eyes and turned her head to the side, seeing beings rising up out of the ground and people react with fright. Heartless?!
Riku's eyes narrowed instantly at the sight of the Heartless, the boy silently cursing himself for not sensing the Darkness sooner. He figured out the reason why he hadn't: he'd been in Cocoon too long, away from the Darkness. Riku pushed himself up from his spot, seeing that the Heartless weren't hesitating with showing up; multiple groups made themselves known around the beach. No choice, Riku thought. He flexed his hand, his Keyblade instantly appearing in grasp.

Lightning pushed herself up as well, glancing back at Riku and grunting when he had already summoned his Keyblade. He couldn't do that here; people would know he was an outsider! Summoning the weapon was a type of magic, and normal people couldn't do magic.
Riku noticed the change in the beasts instantly. They turned their heads toward him, their yellow eyes locating his weapon before they hissed. "...They're here because of me," he revealed lowly, his eyebrows furrowing. He brought the Heartless to Cocoon.

Light blinked in surprise, shifting her gaze from Riku's Keyblade to his face. "What?" she asked without thought. How was that possible? And how was it possible Heartless found this world for the first time ever?
