Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"...When did you get a haircut?" Light asked softly. She hadn't noticed it until now, but it was definitely much shorter than it had been before. As soon as she asked the question, though, she felt a little dumb. She was missing memories; he must have gotten it cut sometime during the time she couldn't recall.
Riku blinked at the question, and he was sure his expression showed confusion. He briefly glanced at Serah, his eyes speaking for him. Was Lightning serious? "...A while ago," he answered finally, his gaze finding Light once more. She was there.

"...Oh." Lightning glanced away, furrowing her eyebrows slightly. That just confirmed things. She really had lost some memories. Each time they experimented on her, she felt like she was losing something, and it wasn't physical strength. It was her memories.
Riku knelt down in front of Lightning, looking up at her to see if he was missing something. "...You okay?" he asked softly, genuinely concerned. She was acting...different. But he bet it was mostly because of her latest experience with those terrorists.

"Y-yeah, just..." Light lifted a hand, tucking back some hair and gazing at the ground while Serah and Riku gazed at her. "Now I'm sure that their experiments hurt me mentally," she said softly. "There are gaps in my memory." Big ones.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the words, and how uncomfortable Light was. "Amnesia," he figured instantly. That was why she forgot he cut his hair...and why she was acting so strange. Her memories were gone.

"Mm," Lightning hummed with a small nod, looking at Riku in front of her. "I'm not quite sure what time-span I've lost, but it feels pretty big." Weeks? Months? She didn't know.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Riku asked, keeping his spot on the ground in front of Lightning, his arms on his knees. How much had she forgotten? If it was a lot, then things would be different between them again.

Light lifted a hand to the side of her head, trying to remember. "It's blurry, but...I think I was living with you while Maleficent was still out there." Was she still out there? No, something told her the witch was dead. Just a gut feeling.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed, though his sight stayed on the woman he loved. "...That's a few months back," he revealed softly. Quite a few months. So much had been forgotten. The troubles, the happiness...the love. It was like it never happened for her.

A few months? Light diverted her gaze, feeling sad. "Right..." she said softly as she gazed at the ground. She had suspected that it was bad, because in her subconscious, she feared forgetting Riku completely. Why was he so important to her? Why did she cling to him so much?
Riku gazed at Lightning for a few more moments, trying not to let his disappointment and sorrow show. He knew he wouldn't be able to hide it long, though. He pushed himself up. "I should go," he said softly, looking toward the window. "With my luck, the Heartless or the Corps will show up any minute." He couldn't bring any more chaos to Lightning.

"W-wait," Lightning suddenly said, her hand going to grasp one of Riku's when he stood up. The movement startled her, the action coming so naturally. She didn't want him to go.
Riku turned his head, feeling the grasp on his hand as he looked down at Lightning. "Hm?" he hummed softly in question. What was it? Did she need something?
  • Author
Light kept her grasp on Riku's hand, her eyes up on his aqua ones. "Sorry," she said softly, referring to her hastiness of keeping him with her. "But...I don't want you to go." She remembered how she was with Riku in the past, and how he took care of her when she was down. And how safe she felt with him nearby.
Riku's eyes softened at the confession. He wanted to stay too, but...he just couldn't. "Serah," he said softly, looking to the girl who had been sitting quietly the last few minutes. "Can you give us a minute?" He needed to talk to Lightning, preferably alone.
  • Author
"Of course," Serah said without hesitation, giving Riku a faint nod as she rose off her seat. She didn't know what Riku planned on telling Lightning, but he surely had a reason for wanting to be alone with her. She walked out of the room, giving her sister and Riku some privacy.
Riku watched Serah go before he looked back to Lightning, the woman he loved. But...she didn't know it. Not anymore. He took a seat beside her, though his fingers were wrapped around hers, keeping their hands together. How was he going to say this?
  • Author
In the back of her mind, Light realized that Riku was sitting pretty close to her. And he was still holding her hand. The feelings sparked from these two things felt familiar, but she had no recollection of anything like this happening before. Did it happen at all, or was she imagining things?
Riku stared down at his hand holding Lightning's, thinking how right it was that they were this close, but it just couldn't happen. Not now. "...Light," he started softly. "Some...things happened between us recently that kind of pushed us apart." What those things were, well, there were plenty.
  • Author
Light looked up at Riku's face in confusion, but then she followed his gaze to her hand in his. What types of things? And how far did it push them apart? "...They can't be that important since you rescued me today," she said softly, thinking logically. They were still friends.
"They are important, but I looked past them to make sure you were okay," Riku said, keeping his hold on Lightning's hand, his gaze lifting to her face. He rescued her because he loved her and cared for her, but she didn't know that. "But...I've caused a bit of trouble here in Cocoon, and I can't stay. I have to go, for your safety."
  • Author
Light shook her head, subconsciously gripping Riku's hand a little more tightly. "You're forgetting about the people who held me hostage," she said softly. "They'll come looking for me soon enough." And she believed Riku was the only person who could protect her from them.
Riku stared at Lightning for a moment, finding truth in her words. But... "I'm in trouble with the Corps," he revealed softly, knowing she forgot that detail. "If I don't go, they'll find me and arrest me. I won't be able to protect you." He wanted to, but if he stayed, he would be discovered, and then imprisoned. He wouldn't see Lightning again. At least if he left the world he would be able to come back to check on her.
  • Author
Lightning shook her head faintly, again. "Not if you make a bargain with them," she said, knowing how the Corps worked. "If they believe you'd be useful in tracking down the remaining members of the group, then they'll let you stay free for a while." And when the time came for him to be thrown in jail...then Light would let him go.
