Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku lowered his gaze to Lightning's hand in his, not arguing with that statement. She really wanted him to stay, but she forgot that they weren't exactly on friendly terms a little while ago. True, they had been civil and friendly with one another, but nothing more. He didn't even know what Lightning had decided, if she made a decision at all about their future together. What if she hadn't wanted him to stay?

I wish I was bold enough to ask what our relationship was, Lightning thought, her gaze on their hands together. If she wasn't mistaken, there was some tension that involved...romance, between them. Were they a couple? Knowing would make things easier for her, so she could know how freely she could share her feelings about some things.
Riku closed his eyes, not knowing what to say or do. Lightning knew the Corps better than anyone he knew, so he trusted her judgement on them letting him stay free for a little. But...he just didn't know.

"...Nevermind," Light mumbled after a minute of silence. She shouldn't have even had these clingy feelings; from what she could recall, she and Riku were just friends. She'd let it stay that way. She loosened her grasp on his hand, looking down at her lap. It was time to let him go.
Riku opened his eyes at the words, his gaze falling on Lightning again. "...I'm sorry, but I just can't," he said softly, releasing her hand slowly. He wanted to be with her, always, but he was dangerous. Not only because of what happened with the Corps, but because of the Heartless. He couldn't bring them to Cocoon.

Lightning nodded faintly, moving her hand to her lap with the other one when Riku released it completely. She kept her gaze on that, and surprisingly found she had to fight tears. Logically, it didn't make sense for her to want Riku to stay this badly. He came to rescue her, but now...he was leaving her. She wasn't sure which was worse: seeing him and losing him or the torture.
Riku looked at Lightning for a moment, taking her in while he could. I love you, he wanted to say, but that wouldn't help anything. She didn't know that he loved her, or that she once loved him in return. He lifted his hand closest to her to the back of her head, a movement he hadn't done since Radiant Garden, when they were together. He then stood up, letting his hand fall as he started toward the door that led to the balcony. He would be back. He wouldn't abandon her completely.

Light lifted her gaze to Riku after the gesture and he started walking away, her pale blue eyes on him. She remembered the night when he left her to take on Maleficent even after she told him not to, and it almost felt like a repeat of that night. She was going to be left vulnerable here. Without him.
Don't look back, Riku kept telling himself. He felt Light's eyes on him, and if he looked back, he wouldn't be able to leave. He'd been in Cocoon for too long now, over a month. If he stayed any longer, the Heartless would come. He couldn't have that happening.

Light kept her gaze on Riku, unable to help staring. She wasn't used to the shorter hair, even if he said he got it done a while ago. And he looked stronger than he had a few months ago, too. She didn't understand...there was a drastic change in Riku; she could tell. What was it, and what caused it?
Riku pushed the button on his armguard once he was outside the glass door, knowing that Lightning was still watching him; he could feel her strong gaze on his back. The weight of it didn't change when his armor covered his form. After calling his Keyblade to his hand, he summoned his glider, which he flipped onto. It was time for him to go.

When Riku got onto his glider, Lightning finally looked away. She didn't want to see him go. She laid down on the couch and curled up, gazing at the ground through moist eyes. Why did she feel this way? Why did she feel so...heartbroken?
Riku took off then, summoning a portal in the sky that he disappeared through a few seconds later. He needed to do something productive, take out his frustration. Everything involving Light was turning into a disaster. First she ended their relationship, then ignored him, and once things started to get better, she lost her memory of everything they ever had. It was awful.

Serah came out to the living room once Riku left and she tried comforting Lightning, but in that instant, Lightning made a decision. Serah had to go live with Snow, for her own protection. Light knew she hadn't seen the last of Darren. Serah's stuff was already moved over there for the most part, and while arguing with Serah was hard, her sister eventually agreed. She left to go speak to Snow about everything, leaving Lightning alone in her tears.

The next day...

Riku flew back into Cocoon, though it was already dark. It was easier for him to move around, since it would be harder for him to be spotted. While he was off fighting Heartless in other worlds, taking out his frustration, he still couldn't help but think about Lightning. He even lost himself to his emotions one time, but he never let it happen again, even if he had been alone.

Light was home alone right now, though Serah stopped in earlier to check on her. And Lightning went to the Guardian Corps to let them know she was no longer a hostage, and she blamed her amnesia for her fogginess with her escape to cover for Riku. The Corps was letting her be to recover, but they'd probably ask her more questions when she was well again. The young woman laid on her side on the couch, a warm mug of tea on the small table in front of her. She only drank a little, and yet she was already dozing off. She always did that.
Riku saw Lightning's house up ahead, and he felt his heart grow warm at the thought of seeing her. It had just been a day, but she never left his mind. He wasn't sure how he would act in front of her, but he knew he would have to set his thoughts aside for her; she was suffering from memory loss. She was more important, always.

Light kept her eyes shut, exhaling a soft breath as she was half-asleep. She was a soldier trained to survive torture and interrogations, but...she was having a rough time. A month of torture. A month of not seeing the light of day. And now, even if she had the freedom, she was too scared to go outside on her own. So much for being free.
Riku landed on the balcony as usual, that being the easiest access point from where he flew in. He dismissed his armor and glider, approaching the door. It was locked, but there were lights on in the house; somebody was home. He lifted his hand to the door, knocking his knuckles against the glass.

Light furrowed her eyebrows at the knock, the noise waking her up. It came from the side door...who would be coming from there? She pushed herself up, rubbing her eyes tiredly as she started over in that direction. As she got closer to the door, she was surprised to see the person standing there. Riku came back? Never before had she felt such a great sense of confusion and relief.
Riku saw the look on Lightning's face, and he lifted the hand that he used to knock in a small wave. She looked a little groggy. Maybe I came at a bad time.
  • Author
Lightning unlocked the door and then pulled the sliding door to the side, nothing separating her from Riku anymore. She saw that small wave that he gave her, so she returned his greeting with a similar one, waving faintly herself once the door was open.
Yeah...definitely tired. "Did...I come at a bad time?" Riku asked, lifting an eyebrow slightly as he looked at Lightning. She looked exhausted. What had she been doing all day? Or was she still recovering from the attack?
  • Author
"No, it's fine," Light said softly, taking a small step to the side so Riku could come in. She just assumed he would come in, since he came to this world from wherever he was. If it was Destiny Islands, then he came a long way.
Riku stepped inside, nodding to Lightning as he walked further into the living room. He saw that the television was on, and there were some pillows propped up on the couch. Lightning must have been lying down. Whoops.
