Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning shut the door and locked it before turning around, looking at Riku for a second before she walked back over to the couch. She ruffled her hair a little with her hand, feeling like she had bedhead even if she wasn't in bed. She was just in a daze from everything and surprised to see Riku here. He hadn't said he was coming back.
Lightning walked past Riku, and he followed her with his eyes. "How've you been?" he asked softly, staying where he was not far from the couch. "You alright?" He was worried sick about her, but he could only check in, not stay. Unfortunately.

"I'm fine," Lightning said stoically, leaning against the back of the couch and facing Riku as she lightly folded her arms over her chest. Didn't you always used to say something like that to Riku? she thought to herself. "I'm alright"? Yeah, that was it. She said it whether it was true or not.
Riku tilted his head a little, hearing Light's tone and reading her posture. She forgot a little fact, and that was that he'd been around her long enough to be able to read her...somewhat. "You sure?" he asked softly, making sure.

This time, Lightning looked away when she lied. And instead of answering verbally, she nodded slightly. Why did she not want to lie to Riku? Why did she care so much about him that she wanted to be honest with him? Why did she cling to the memory of him so much if he was just going to rescue her and then leave her alone when she needed him most?!
"Lightning...." Riku said slowly, his tone showing his suspicion. He took a small step forward automatically, not thinking of his actions at the moment. He was thinking of her, and what was really wrong. Nightmares? Pain? Anything?

Light looked up when Riku got closer to her, her eyes also spotting his suspicious look. "I'm just...lonely," she said, partially being honest. "I made Serah move in with Snow." Spending the night alone last night after the torture had been harder than expected. Had she ever been that afraid of the dark before?
Riku's eyes softened at that, and he didn't know how to respond. What could he say to that? He was the reason why she was lonely, wasn't he? She made Serah move out, which he didn't understand, but he would have been there if he hadn't left.

Light looked away, able to tell Riku was wondering why she made Serah move out. "Um...It was a precaution," she said, lifting a hand and playing with her hair slightly as, again, she was only partially honest. "In case they found out where I lived." She didn't want her sister in danger, nor did she want her worrying and watching her recover from this. It would hurt her.
"...I'm surprised she left," Riku replied then, speaking the truth. "You must have been pretty convincing." He had expected Serah to be there when he couldn't be. He guessed he was wrong.

Lightning shrugged, lowering her hand to her side. "I didn't give her a choice." Serah tried arguing, but Light shut her down and drove her away. She knew her sister hoped it was just her emotions getting the best of her, and she could move back in in a day or two, but Lightning still wouldn't let her, whether her emotions controlled her decision or not.
"Why not?" Riku asked, his eyebrows furrowing. She needed someone. Lightning needed family, and Serah was all she had left. Why did she push her away?
  • Author
Light furrowed her eyebrows slightly. "I told you," she said. "It'd be dangerous for her to be here if they find out where I live. I don't want her near danger." And if she did get close to danger, she'd have Snow to protect her. She'd be fine.
Riku brought a hand to his face, closing his eyes as he released a breath. "So you thought leaving yourself alone would be a better option?" he asked, his tone one of disapproval. "I know you wanted Serah to be safe, but you could have had Snow come here and help out. At least that way you wouldn't be alone." She was only risking her life more.
  • Author
"That's still too close to the danger as far as I'm concerned," Light said tensely, referring to Serah. Things could still happen. Could she and Snow take on five or more people and protect Serah at the same time? Probably not. Light could handle being alone, or so she told herself. She was always alone.
"You're so stubborn," Riku mumbled then, speaking his thoughts aloud. Why did Lightning have to be so difficult? She was pushing her family away, and that wouldn't help her recover. But...would him being away help anything? Lightning was pretty insistent on him staying yesterday.
  • Author
"Yes, I am," Lightning said, looking at Riku at his mumbled words. He should have known that by now, especially if they went through anything together in the past few months. The months that she forgot.
"Would you prefer to be alone now?" Riku asked, lowering his hand as he looked at Lightning. She let Serah leave, since she wanted to be by herself. Did she want him to leave too?

Light looked past Riku, eyes softening as she looked outside and saw the world covered by the darkness of night. She didn't like the dark; it was a lingering fear in the back of her mind. She shook her head faintly and looked down at the ground with more vulnerability expressed on her face, answering Riku's question. No. She didn't want to be alone now.
Riku saw the emotions written on Lightning's face, fear being one of them. It caught him off guard slightly, the teen not having expected it. "...Would you like me to stay?" he asked softly. She didn't want Serah here, but she didn't want to be alone. He was her only option.
  • Author
Light kept her gaze on the ground, hesitating a second before she nodded. She did want Riku to stay. She felt safe with him, always. And he had seen her vulnerable before, so it was okay to show some emotion in front of him, right?
Riku nodded a little as well. "Alright. I'll stay," he said softly. For you. He would do anything for her. All she had to do was name it.
  • Author
Lightning looked up, surprised Riku gave in that easily. Yesterday, he made a big deal out of not being able to stay. And now he would stay with her, just like that? What changed?
Riku read the look that Light was giving him, and he smiled weakly. "I can't stand seeing you so sad," he said softly. She was vulnerable, and he wanted to make that go away. If that meant he had to stay, he would.
  • Author
Light blinked, surprised at Riku's response for some reason. He could read her that well? "O-oh," she said, glancing away in slight embarrassment. She hadn't meant to guilt-trip him.
