Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"It's okay," Riku said with a small shrug. "I know what it's like to be alone, remember?" She should have at least remembered that. Lightning had seem him isolate himself from his friends when they were on the Islands.

Light kept her gaze down at the ground for a second, recalling some memories that hadn't been taken away. She still knew all about Riku's past and how he separated himself from his friends, and how he was a loner in general. She nodded slightly in response to his question, looking back up at him.
Riku tilted his head slightly, looking at Lightning in silence. He just wanted to hold her in his arms, but she had no recollection of their relationship together. To her, they had been friends, and friends only. Nothing more.

Light's eyes were locked on Riku's, seeing how he looked at her. He looked incredibly sad, for her sake. How close were they? They must have been in a relationship. Because the feelings that lingered in her heart said that all she wanted right now was to be in his arms. But how could she do that when it didn't make any sense logically? How would Riku respond to a dumb request like that?
Riku didn't mind that Lightning was staring back, the boy only a few feet from her. He wanted to close the distance, but he couldn't do anything risky. Lightning never made up her mind before he had to leave Cocoon, and now that she didn't even remember that time, she wouldn't know the answer anyway. It was pointless now.

"...I really wish I could remember," Lightning murmured softly, looking away. She wanted to remember Riku. She clung to the memory of him for a reason. Could he maybe...fill her in? Maybe it would help her remember?
"Remember what?" Riku asked then, his voice soft as he subconsciously took a step forward. What did she wish to remember? What was on Lightning's mind?

Light looked back up at Riku, seeing how gentle his eyes were and how he was genuinely interested in her. "...You," she said in response to his question. She wanted to remember the past few months, and what must have happened between her and Riku.
Riku's eyes softened at the one-worded answer, the boy blinking slightly. Oh...he thought silently. That's what. She forgot him... He knew that, but still, it hurt to hear her say it herself.

Lightning looked away, deciding to be fully honest with Riku right now. "During the torture sessions, they went into my mind and searched for information about magic," she said softly. "And I knew I was losing memories because of it, but there was a memory I clung to the best I could." She looked up at Riku again. "It was you." He was what she clung to.
Riku took another small step forward without thought, his surprise surely written on his face. But...he was flattered too. She...clung to him. Did that mean...she still loved him, before she lost her memories? Was that the answer he never got?

"I feel like there was something really important about you that I forgot," Lightning said, faintly shaking her head and looking down again. "I wanted to tell you so badly, but...I can't remember what it was. ...I'm sorry." She whispered the last two words, genuinely sorrowful. It was so important, and yet she forgot it. She wasn't strong enough to hold on to whatever that message was.
Riku closed the distance between him and Light upon hearing how much sorrow she obviously felt in her heart. He put his hands on her shoulders and looked down at her, shaking his head softly. "It's okay..." he said softly. "It's not your fault." It was those kids' faults. They were the ones who did this to her.

Light shook her head softly, though Riku's hands on her shoulders felt soothing. "I wasn't strong enough to hold on," she said softly. She should have been better than that. How could she have been so weak?
"You went through an endless amount of torture for a month," Riku said, lowering his head a little to try and get a look at Lightning's face. "Nobody could have been strong enough for that." A month of torture, with the way she was living? He couldn't have survived that either.

Lightning nodded faintly after a second, compelled to agree. She fought the best she could; there was no point in being upset with herself. She just had to try and remember that information soon.
"You're strong enough that you survived," Riku said, squeezing Lightning's shoulders gently. "That's what's important." She was incredibly strong to have survived all of that. He admired her.

Light shook her head softly, looking up at Riku. "I would have survived no matter what," she said softly. "They wouldn't let me die." They needed her, since she was the only active l'Cie on Cocoon as far as anybody knew. She was everything to them.
Riku's grip on Lightning's shoulders tightened at that, the boy not expecting that kind of reply. He didn't like it, that was for sure. After all, he loved her. He was glad he killed a few of the people who hurt her, but it wasn't enough.

"There was something else I tried to remember...something about their identities." Lightning shook her head slightly, looking down towards Riku's chest. "But I forgot that too."
"Don't worry about it right now," Riku insisted lowly, his eyebrows furrowing. "Focus on recovering. You've probably lost a lot of sleep." Torture wasn't good for anyone; Riku remembered what happened to Aqua when she went through it, and she had only been gone for a few days. Lightning was gone for a month.
  • Author
"My memories are more important than sleep," Light said. They were the key to her recovery. There was some secret she had to recall, and then she could start piecing together the rest. But how was she supposed to recall something forgotten?
Riku nodded slightly, slowly taking his hands back from Light's shoulders. He didn't argue, not wanting to put more stress on her shoulders. Besides, she probably knew what was best for herself. More than he did, anyway.
  • Author
"...I wish it was as easy as just sleeping to recover," Light said more softly, shaking her head and ignoring how sad she felt when Riku took away his hands. "At least then, I'd have some idea on what to do." Recovering memories...she had no clue what to do.
"Ask questions," Riku said softly. "Someone might have answers." He could have had a few even, but if it regarded anything with those kids, he had no idea. But he would do anything to help.
