Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

"Neither is being prideful," Riku counted with a smirk. It just depended on what time it made itself present. For him, that was probably more often than it should have been. He was sure Sora could back that up with plenty of examples.

"Right," Lightning said, rolling her eyes and washing the dishes, her gaze on them. This was...amusing. The last that she remembered, she and Riku bickered pretty often. But they did have some lighter moments. And they must have had some moments like this in the past few months, because Light's heart was familiar with it. She loved this.
"Hmph," Riku grunted, keeping his hands behind his head. "For some reason, I think you're doubting me." He could tell by that tone Lightning used. She said "right" that way a lot of times, and it had different meanings. But this one he knew, which meant she wasn't agreeing because she believed she was right.

"I didn't say anything," Light said with a shrug, keeping her gaze on the plates and silverware she was washing. She was actually tempted to smile, though, just because whatever was going on here was enjoyable. She liked being near Riku.
"Actually, you did," Riku said, letting the front legs of his chair touch the floor as he took his hands away from his head. "You said, 'right'." He mimicked Lightning's tone the best he could, rolling his eyes with it, because that was what she did.

Light stood up straighter, seeing a wet rag floating in the water. She picked it up and subtly rung it out before balling it up, throwing it at Riku a few moments later. He probably didn't see what she was doing, since he was sitting down and couldn't see the inside of the sink. If he was going to get smart with her, then...she didn't know what she would do. Throwing the rag in playfulness had been her first instinct.
Riku jumped slightly, the rag hitting his exposed arm. He blinked, looking at it before he gazed at Lightning near the sink. "Really?" he asked, his tone smart with her. She was going to throw a rag at him?

"Whoops," Light said casually, picking up the sponge again and getting back to the dishes. "I must have slipped." She smirked slightly to herself, knowing that it was obvious she threw the washcloth on purpose. Oh well.
Riku rolled his eyes and shook his head. Yeah, right. He wasn't an idiot, but he could play this game too. He grabbed the rag on his arm and pushed himself up, balling it back up before he chucked it at Lightning in return.

Light turned slightly, lifting a hand out of the sink and catching the rag instead of letting it hit her. She wasn't oblivious or stupid; she had expected Riku to throw the rag, so she had been paying attention for it. She looked over at Riku, arching a brow at him. Did you mean for this to hit me? 'Cause it didn't.
Riku sighed and set his hands on the table, giving Lightning a look. Seriously? This was just ridiculous. His one attempt, and it failed. Smooth move, slick.

Light smirked triumphantly, setting the rag on the counter next to her. The dishes were clean, so she let the water go down the drain and then started drying the plates and silverware. Her mind was elsewhere, though, on the boy a few feet away at the table. He's something.
Riku shook his head slightly at the look, but he didn't say anything. He kept his hands on the table, his gaze staying on the woman he still loved. The woman he would always love, no matter what. He would still love her even if she didn't want to get back together. It was just how his heart was with the situation.

Light finished drying everything and put the silverware away first, but then she walked past Riku to put away the plates. She put them where they belonged and was careful not to slam the cupboard doors. She remembered how the noise startled her earlier.
Riku watched Lightning pass him, and his eyes stayed on her as she put the dishes away. Now that they were civil and he was back in Cocoon, he was comfortable with her. It went away a little when things were tense between the two of them, but now they weren't that way. Was it because of the memory loss, or was it Light's heart?

Light turned around from her spot and looked at Riku, surprised for some reason that he was already staring at her. He did that a lot in the past, but now...it was almost as if he never took his eyes off her. She didn't know what to make of it.
Riku caught Lightning's eye, but he didn't move. He didn't even look away. Why would he need to? She should have remembered--oh, right. She didn't remember that when they were together, he always gazed at her. He never took his eyes off of her.

Light felt herself blush, surprisingly feeling shy. This Riku was very different from the person she knew a few months ago. "Do you realize...how much you've changed in the past few months?" Light asked softly, willing her blush away.
Riku shook his head, silently answering. He knew that he changed, but not how much. It was obvious that she was the one who changed him, and he was perfectly okay with that. If Lightning changed him, it was for the better. "Do you?" he asked softly, returning the question to her. Did Lightning know how much he'd changed?

Light shook her head softly, though when she spoke, she said some things she could see different in him. "You're more confident," she said softly. "It's like...now you know what you want out of life." That was what she noticed in his eyes.
Riku smiled ever so slightly, nodding once to confirm that. He did know what he wanted, but it was unattainable right now. It would have to wait until the time was right.

"You seem more mature, too," Light said quietly. Riku was mature before, but now he just...seemed older in general. Calmer, happier, more secure in himself. He was turning out well. Why can't I remember what led him to this point?!
"I've learned my lessons," Riku confirmed a second time, his small smile still on his face. He learned them from the Darkness, but he also learned strength from Lightning during training. As far as wisdom went, some of it came from his own experiences, and Lightning once again. But his older self told him a few things he wanted to keep in mind.

"Mm," Light hummed with a small nod, smiling weakly. This was so...weird. Riku was a stranger to her in a lot of ways because of her missing memories, but her heart was completely familiar with him. It was so confusing, since she was in two opposite states at once. Which was she supposed to act upon? Logic or her heart?
Riku kept his hands on the table, but he tilted his head slightly as he gazed at the person he loved. He wondered what was going on inside her head. Lightning was a complex person, and he read her sometimes. But...he wanted to get to know her better, even if he knew her pretty well already. Truth was, Riku wanted to be as close to Lightning as possible. He loved her.
