Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"...Have I...changed much?" Light asked Riku softly setting a hand on the counter and looking at him. She wouldn't know, since she couldn't remember who she had been the past few months. Was she a better person? She must have been, if Riku was a part of her life.
Riku wasn't expecting the question, so his smile faded in response. "...Yeah," he said softly. Lightning had changed. Before they got together, she had a wall up, but he broke through. He saw the more sincere, delicate Lightning. He loved that side of her, but he loved her strength as well. When things ended between them, she put up that wall again, and she was the stronger, stoic soldier that he once knew. Lightning flip-flopped at that moment, but she was doing it again. She was vulnerable and sensitive, at least from what he could see now.

"...You make it sound like it was bad," Lightning commented softly. Not only had Riku's smile faded away, but his tone gave him away. What happened to make her turn out worse? And...could she change it?
"For a while...it was," Riku answered honestly, pushing himself away from the table and standing up straight. She ended things, which hurt a lot. But...he loved Lightning regardless.

Light looked down, humming softly. This...wasn't what she wanted to hear at a time like this. Did she...not treat Riku well? But if that was the case, why was he alright with sitting so close to her last night? And sticking around? And joking around just a few minutes ago?
Riku saw the way Lightning held herself at his response, and his eyes softened. "...You were a little harsh," he said gently, taking a few steps around the table so he could be a little closer. "But...things changed for you somewhere along the way. I don't know when, but they did." And it was before he had to leave. They'd spent two weeks together, and things had been going really well. But then it all fell apart.

Light hummed softly again, sensing Riku move closer to her even she wasn't looking up. Of course she was harsh; she wouldn't expect anything else from herself. She didn't know what Riku meant about the change, but she wasn't sure if she should ask. It seemed like a sort of touchy subject.
"I thought..." Riku stopped himself, both verbally and physically with his footsteps. I thought we would be okay. But...they weren't. They still weren't. But was Riku taking advantage of Light's memory loss to get closer to her again?

Lightning looked up when Riku stopped speaking and moving, her eyes showing confusion and question. "Hm?" she hummed in question, prodding him to continue. What was he thinking?
Riku lowered his gaze to the floor, lifting a hand to scratch his cheek. "Um..." he started softly, hesitating. This is Light. Just talk to her. "...Things were going really well before I had to leave. I...was hoping that things would be like they used to be. With us..." With us being a couple. But that hadn't happened.

"Riku..." That was all Light could think to say, eyes soft on him. He never opened up to her like this, not in the memories she still held. He changed even more than she said he had, and he...wanted her. But she wasn't the girl that he loved, was she? She was just...She didn't know who she was, without her memories.
Riku glanced up at Lightning when she said his name that way, and he shook his head. "It's alright," he said softly. He didn't want her sympathy; she was more important. She had to focus on herself, and recovering from all she went through a few days before. He could wait.

Light shook her head softly. "No...it's not," she disagreed quietly. This wasn't alright at all. This wasn't fair to Riku, and it wasn't fair to her. Why was she so conflicted?! She wanted to just trust her heart and run into Riku's arms, but logic told her the torture affected her emotions. She didn't want to run to Riku and then hurt him by pulling away.
"Focus on yourself," Riku insisted softly, his eyes on Lightning's. "That's most important." Once she was okay again, she could figure things out clearly and rationally. He would be there to help, but nothing more. He couldn't do anything more than that.

Light shook her head softly again, her gaze still on Riku's eyes. Love isn't selfish. The thought startled her, since it was so odd for her to think she loved Riku when she couldn't even remember going out with him. "I can't do that," she said softly. "Not now that I know how badly my amnesia ruined everything." She had to try and fix it.
"Don't say that," Riku told her softly. "Lightning, I didn't even know your decision...or if you even made a decision about us. It's okay." It didn't make that much of a difference whether she remembered or not. If they were meant to be, they would be together in the end, no matter what route they took.

Light glanced down at the ground, not responding. She was stubborn; she wasn't going to give in just like that. I wonder...if Serah knew what my decision was. If if there's some way to get memories back quickly. She would do whatever it took to get back what she lost.
Riku noticed that Lightning wasn't talking or responding in any way, and he looked over at the counter. "Maybe I shouldn't have said anything," he thought aloud, mumbling the words. Maybe he made a mistake.

Lightning looked up, hearing Riku's muttered words. "No," she disagreed, softly shaking her head. "I needed to know." She had to get caught up on everything, including Riku's feelings. Even if it was painful to know what Darren took away from her.
"You need to focus on yourself," Riku insisted once again, not looking over at her. He could feel Lightning's gaze on him, though, a very familiar feeling. "It can wait." He could never be put before her, ever. Her well-being was too important.

Light took a small step forward, seeing how Riku wasn't looking at her. "That's not something I'm willing to accept," she said softly. She didn't want to be selfish; she wanted to help him too. Her heart wanted to tell him that she wanted to be with him, forever.
"Why not?" Riku asked, finally turning his head to look at Lightning. There was a small edge to his tone, and it was because he didn't understand why she was being so stubborn. Why couldn't she just accept the fact that in order for things to work out between them, she had to be healthy, memories included?

Lightning picked up on the small bite in Riku's tone, and it made her hesitate for a second. That, and she had to think of an answer. "Because...even without memories, I care," she said softly. That was why.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Lightning, not knowing what to say. To him, that didn't make much sense. How could she care if she didn't remember what to care about?
  • Author
The look on Riku's face intimidated her for some reason, probably because to Light, it looked pretty cynical. He didn't seem to believe her. She couldn't explain what she was feeling because she had no memories to relate it to, but...she had feelings regardless.
