Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"There's nothing to say," Riku said tightly, looking down at the woman he loved and cherished. She knew that. He'd told Lightning that before. The discussion was over.

"And you're lying about that," Light stated, confident in her answer. She knew Riku, and she knew when he was lying to her. This was at least the third time tonight that he was lying to her. And it hurt each time he did it.
Riku met Light's eyes, not looking away. "So what if I am?" he challenged lowly, his hands curling into fists. What could Light do to make him stop lying?

Lightning felt her gaze change, having not expected that response. He was admitting it, then. "Riku..." she said softly, that being the only thing she could think to say. How can you lie right to my face like this?
Riku didn't respond right away, just looking at Lightning. He swallowed stiffly at the look in her eyes, wanting nothing more than to say he was sorry. But it wasn't that easy; nothing ever was.

"...You can lie to yourself all you want," Light said softly. "But don't you dare look me in the eye and lie to me." That wasn't...right. Why was he lying to her? Why was he pushing her away?
Riku's eyes grew harder at that, the boy not liking to be bossed around. "And if I do?" he asked then, prodding Lightning to continue. So what if he looked her in the eye and lied? What would she do?

This time, Lightning was the one who didn't bother speaking a response. She tore her gaze away from Riku's, not aware that they were being watched. She didn't want him to keep lying to her; it hurt. She was always the one pushing people away, and now she knew what it was like to be on the other side of things. It was terrible.

Riku looked down at Light for a moment, just gazing at her. For a moment, his eyes actually softened up, but then they turned hard again not too long afterward. "...It's useless to try with me," he said lowly. "I've told Sora and Kairi that before..."

Kairi moved a little at that, hearing her name. Riku...she thought softly, unable to believe what she was hearing. He was still hurting, but he wasn't only causing pain to himself. He was hurting Lightning too.

Sora glanced over at Kairi, though he was sure the two of them were sharing the same thoughts as him. Riku was hurting, and they hadn't even noticed it until now.

"Shut up," Light said, lifting her gaze back up to Riku and furrowing her eyebrows. She was upset he said it was useless to try on him; she loved him. And she always would. "You think I'm just going to accept that garbage? You have one of the best hearts I've ever seen, and you're telling me to stop trying to help you?" That wasn't going to happen.

Riku stared at Lightning, not saying anything. His silence would answer for him. Yes, that was exactly what he was doing. He loved her too, with all he had, but what if he was too...dark for her? Too tainted and dangerous?

"You're stuck with me, remember?" Lightning said when Riku didn't respond, a hand coming to her hip as she looked up at him. "And no, I don't understand everything you went through. But I understand enough that I can help you. Just let me do it." Just let me help you.
Riku brought a hand to his face, covering it a little as he closed his eyes. "You just don't get it..." he said softly. After a moment, he lowered his hand, his eyes harder than before, fierce with aggravation and hatred toward the Darkness. "There's nothing anybody can do to help me. Once the Darkness gets to a person, they're tainted, no matter what." He didn't want to mark her with Darkness. She was too great for that; he could see that past his anger.
  • Author
Lightning furrowed her eyebrows, looking up at Riku still. "So what if you are tainted?" she asked. "It's a part of who you are. You've used the Darkness to protect the things that matter. Why do you hate your own Darkness so much?" She could understand hating Darkness as a whole, but the Darkness he utilized was different. Pure, in its own way.
"Because...it reminds me of what I went through, every single day," Riku replied tightly. The time he spent in Darkness... That was what he was reminded of every time he used his Dark powers. "I don't want anyone experiencing the same thing." That was why he was pushing everyone away.

"You don't have to relive your past like this, Riku," Light stated softly, lifting a hand to lightly sit on his upper arm. "You have to find something else to dwell on." Happiness, friendship, family...anything but this.
Riku jerked his arm away, forcing Light's hand to leave his bare skin. "...Like putting you in danger?" he said, being pessimistic, as he had always been. That was exactly what he was doing, putting Lightning closer to the Darkness. Just her being associated with him could be dangerous. He remembered the Heartless showing up on Cocoon.

Lightning arched a brow, hand lowering to her side while the other stayed on her hip. "I'm where I want to be," she said. "So if anything, I've put myself in danger. Not you." This was her decision to be with him.
Riku ground his teeth together, gritting them as his hands balled into fists. "Ugh, what is with you?!" he hollered then, looking at Lightning with piercing aqua eyes. "Why are you doing this? Just accept the fact that I'm a lost cause and move on!" He wasn't telling her to leave him, but to accept that this couldn't be fixed. Ever. It was in him permanently.
  • Author
"I'm not moving on without you by my side!" Light hollered in return. "Accept that." She would never consider him a lost cause, because that wasn't what he was. Not even now in one of his lowest moments.
"Why should I?" Riku hollered in return, his eyebrows furrowed. "What difference do I make to anything?" If anything, he dragged people down. Sora would know, since he was cruel to him in the past.
  • Author
"You make all the difference!" Light yelled, frustrated with Riku now. "You know where I'd be without you?! In the grave." He was a big deal, to her and to his friends.

"Shut up!" Riku cried at that, taking a step closer to Lightning, though they were close enough. "Don't you dare talk about death to me!" He would die for her...whenever he was supposed to. If she was in the grave... No, he wouldn't accept it.

Kairi lifted a hand to her mouth when she heard Riku's holler. It was a bit frightening to see him so out of his usual calm and quiet demeanor, and to hear what he was saying. This was awful.

"You don't want me talking about death? Then you stop calling yourself worthless, because that's a lie! You're worth everything to me, and to your friends." Light's voice was still loud, just as Riku's was. They had small arguments before, but never screaming fights like this.

She's right, Riku, Sora thought, hearing Light incorporate him, Kairi, and their other friends into the conversation. They all would be hopelessly lost without him.

"That's a lie!" Riku hollered, gritting his teeth before continuing. "They would be just fine without me! Sora survived when I was in Darkness, and both he and the others are stronger than they've ever been. If I was gone, nothing would change!" He would just be out of the picture, a castaway from the Darkness.

Stop it, Riku, Kairi wanted to say, but she couldn't find her voice. Why was he saying these things? He knew that wasn't true!
