Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"You're not a very good liar either," Riku said, crossing his arms over his bare chest. His eyes remained on Lightning, not looking away as he met her stern gaze with one of his own. "You've been lying to yourself all these years, but even you know, deep down, Claire still lives within you. Maybe she always has." Riku's eyes danced over Lightning briefly. "Looking at you now, I see her."

"I told you a long time ago, Riku," Light said lowly. "Claire died in that fire along with her parents. She doesn't exist anymore." The weaknesses Lightning and Claire shared were coincidence. Weak little Claire...that wasn't who she was. She wasn't Claire at all.
"Prove it," Riku said simply. I'll believe that when I see it. Right now, she wasn't proving anything to him, but she was picking on him. And he wasn't okay with that.

"How am I supposed to prove that I--Claire died in the fire along with her parents?" Light asked with an arched brow. But then she came up with something. "Your real proof is that I'm standing here right now. Claire wouldn't be strong enough to make it this far."
Riku didn't look away from Lightning, though he did come up with something in response. "Claire was strong enough to trick herself into believing she was another person," he said, voice tight and tense. "If Claire was weak and pathetic, nothing's changed now. You're the same way."

Lightning's--no, Claire's--eyes widened, Riku's words hitting a nerve. Whenever she was upset, Lightning normally slugged the offender, but now Claire was coming out. Weak, pathetic little Claire. She tore her eyes away from Riku, the stairs closer to her. She went for them, not seeing Sora and Kairi because they both left a little while ago because they felt bad for eavesdropping.
Riku watched Lightning go with the same hard eyes he'd looked at her with for a while now, not saying anything to her departing figure. He already knew the drill; he was on the couch tonight, but he didn't think he'd be getting much sleep anyway.

Lightning went into the room she had been staying in, seeing her clothes on the ground. She picked them up and went into the bathroom to change, putting everything on quickly and ignoring her trembling fingers. I-I have to get out of here.
Riku lowered his arms from his chest, walking over to the couch and sitting down. Now that the fight was over, he felt his anger melt away. He had some thinking to do. A lot of it.

Claire hurried down the stairs, remaining as composed as she could as she felt Lightning's cape blow faintly in the wind she created. The weapon also was attached to her outfit, not that she was planning on using it. She reentered the living room and went straight for the door without looking at Riku. She couldn't face him.
Riku didn't lift his gaze from the floor, hearing footsteps behind him. He knew who it was; he could smell her too. Another Dark trait about him. Riku brought a hand to his face, keeping his elbows on his knees as he sat on the couch. He couldn't face Lightning right now...not after what he said.

Claire reached the door, feeling her own trembling when she grabbed it. But she walked outside and slammed it shut behind her before she immediately started in a run, not knowing where she was going. Away from here.
Riku sighed when he heard the door slam, his heart falling to his stomach at the sound. Light... Now that his anger was dying down, he realized he was too harsh. He took his frustration out on her, something he'd wanted to avoid from the very beginning.

Claire ran until she was at the destination her feet carried her to, the girl in an abandoned part of the town. "No," she whispered. Why did I have to come here? This was...This was where her house had been. Now, there was nothing. It was never rebuilt.
Riku knew he couldn't apologize, not now. Not after what he'd done. He would deal with the silence Lightning would give him, or the insults and dirty looks. He would take it. Now that he was off his high, as she'd called it, he realized his mistake.

Lightning collapsed to her hands and knees in the dirt, sobs leaving her before she even saw them coming. She curled her hands and grasped the soot, images flashing before her mind. The ones you love are the ones who can hurt you the most. Losing them killed her inside. It nearly killed Claire, but she lived on, like Riku said. Lightning never existed; only Claire under a new name. I'm pathetic.
Riku spread himself out along the couch, staring up at the ceiling. After a moment, though, he threw his arm over his eyes, releasing a sigh. Stupid, he said, cursing himself. He shouldn't have done that...any of it.

Light shut out the memories for years, but they were all coming back now. Xehanort stabbing her parents. The suffocating smoke that nearly killed her. The little girl hiding in the bushes while watching her brother get taken away. The police assuming everyone died in the fire. All of it was like it was yesterday, including the emotions. I-I'm Claire. She always had been.
Don't be surprised if she leaves you. Riku thought that himself, the Darkness within him not causing it. That was something he figured out alone. After what he said and did, he was expecting it. You screwed things up again.

Lightning picked herself up when the sun was rising, feeling like she was out there for a while. She even had dew on her. She picked herself up and aimlessly walked for Kairi's home, reaching it eventually. The dirt and dust was on her legs and arms, not that she cared. She was going to collapse in bed. She turned the doorknob softly and entered the home, not noticing if anybody was awake or not.
Riku was dozing off by sunrise, and when the door opened, he grunted faintly, though not enough to attract attention. His arm was still over his eyes, hiding them from view. After losing himself to his emotions, he was mentally and emotionally drained. I need to go home...wherever that is.

Light entered the room, her eyes finding Riku on the couch. He was probably sleeping fine. Instead of going to the bedroom like she originally planned, she made a rash decision. She went to the kitchen, where she knew Kairi kept note paper and pens. She grabbed the two items and started writing a note. She couldn't stay here to explain everything.
All of Riku's things were in Cocoon, but his family was spread all around the worlds. His parents were in Traverse Town, but Sora and Kairi were here. So where did he go? He doubted Cocoon was the best choice, considering the problems that arose with Lightning. Because of my big mouth.

Riku, Claire wrote. ...I don't really know what to say. I'm sorry I couldn't help you the way that you've helped me in the past. I guess maybe now would be a good time to tell you why I chose the name "Lightning". Lightning...it flashes bright, then fades away. It can't protect. It only destroys. When I changed my name, all I wanted to do was destroy Xehanort, even if it meant my own destruction. But now I realize I'm most like Lightning because I have my "good" moments, then I vanish. I'm sorry I'm not good enough right now to stay with you after everything. I can't.

I don't know where I'm going. It doesn't really matter.

I love you.

Claire

Depending on how things went that next day, Riku would find out where he and Lightning stood. As far as he knew, right now, they stood on different levels. They weren't on the same page at all, and that actually upset him. Why wouldn't it?
