Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"You didn't think that a few weeks ago," Riku pointed out, his eyebrows furrowing as he continued to stand in the street, his arms around Light as he held her. Anything was possible before, and now she was just giving up. It broke his heart.

"I was naive and lying to myself, like you said," Claire said softly, referring to their fight last night. He said how she was lying to herself, and she was naive to think a name change could take away everything Claire stood for. Now, she didn't even know who she was. Was she weak little Claire, or strong, stoic Lightning?
"You were lying to yourself about who you were, not what you felt," Riku said then, holding Lightning even more closely to his chest. He wouldn't let her go. She was supposed to be with him, forever. He could feel it.

Lightning shook her head faintly. "Even if that's true, you said that your past would get in the way of your happiness, too," she said softly. "Why are you fighting now, Riku?" Last night, he was the one who was going to give in to his misery, not Lightning. But now he was completely different.
"...I don't want to lose you," Riku admitted softly, gazing down at the woman he held so many feelings for. Someone he was so close to. Someone he cherished. "I love you." Riku didn't want her to go. Ever.

Light's eyes softened, her gaze staying on Riku's eyes. "I don't know who I am. How can you know who I am--who I really am--well enough to love me?" He probably loved somebody that didn't exist. He liked Claire's softness and Lightning's strength, but the two personalities couldn't ever be combined for real, could they?
Riku lowered himself to one knee then, holding Light in his grasp until he gently sat her down on the ground. But he kept his arm behind her back, not releasing her completely. "...I've seen you at your lowest, and even then I never lost what I felt for you," he explained softly, his eyes still gentle with concern and fear as he looked at her. "I love you, Claire, through thick and thin. After all that's happened, you think I'd give up on you so easily?" They had a bad fight last night, but they went through things much worse before. This wasn't the end.

For some reason, Lightning felt herself get choked up when Riku said he loved Claire through thick and thin. Instead of responding, she shut her eyes and turned her head against his shoulder, eyes squeezing shut as moisture appeared. She was Claire, wasn't she? And that was who Riku loved.
Riku looked down at Lightning in silence, not moving. He wanted to ask what he said wrong, but he decided against it. She was emotional, he understood that. And so was he. But...it was okay.

Claire lifted one of her hands and grabbed onto Riku's shoulder furthest away from her, her other arm going around his shoulders. I don't want to give up on you, either, she thought. "It just hurts, to know you're actually alive when you feel so dead," she said, her voice choked up as she spoke into Riku.
Riku wrapped his other arm around Claire's back, keeping her close. "I'm sorry," he said softly. He probably didn't help with things last night; he was too hard on her, too harsh. He would take it back if he could, but it was too late. Riku vowed, though, to revive her. He wanted her to feel alive again.

Lightning felt the tears coming, though she wouldn't let them escape her eyes. "Claire has always been scared of her past," she said softly, speaking of a part of herself with a specific name. "And after last night...I ran to where it all began and wept. I was supposed to die there too."
"...You gave up," Riku said then, his arms still around the woman he loved. "You really thought you belonged there...didn't you?" She didn't. There was a reason she survived. Was it to meet him, or to accomplish something much greater?

Claire nodded faintly, sagging in Riku's arms a little. It wasn't because of her wound, though it did still bother her. It was because he was right in what he said. She did believe that she belonged there. "I even have a tombstone alongside my parents' in that graveyard," she said softly. She hadn't known about that until now.
Riku lifted one of his hands to the back of Light's head at that, not knowing what to say. That was awful. No wonder she didn't want to defend herself against Darren. She was heartbroken, because of him and her parents' deaths. She was willing to die to escape reality.

"Am I a bad person for wanting to give up, even after being offered a second chance at life?" Light asked weakly after a few moments, feeling Riku's hand on her head. She wasn't sure what "second chance" she was referring to; she received multiple ones throughout her life. Was she bad for not taking advantage of her opportunity to live a new life?
"No," Riku said softly, shaking his head a little. He looked down at Lightning, his hands lingering where they were. "Just lost." She didn't know what path she was on, much like he was in the past. But she was different; she didn't care whether she lived or died, and that was terrible. Hopefully Riku could turn her around and help her out. He would do anything.

You don't have to tell me that, Light thought, already knowing that she was lost. Conflicted, really, between life and death. Happiness and sorrow. Guilt and freedom. She didn't know which she deserved, or which she wanted. All that she knew was that she didn't want to be in pain anymore.
Riku rested his cheek against Light's hair, just holding her. He wanted to make all her pain go away, and he would do whatever it took to accomplish that. "...Tell me what needs to be done, and I'll do it," he whispered. He would do whatever it took to make sure Light was happy again.

Lightning shook her head faintly, feeling Riku's chin against her hair when she did that. "I couldn't ask you to do that," she whispered. "You have your own problems to face. You can't face mine too." It would be unreasonable for her to expect him to do that, so she wasn't going to ask. And besides, she didn't know what he could do to help, specifically.
"Remember how persistent you were last night?" Riku said then, staying where he was. "It's a mutual thing. I wanna help you any way I can." He would do anything for her, because he loved her with all he had. Sometimes he didn't think it was enough, and maybe it wasn't, but he wanted to help Lightning anyway.

"I want to help you too, but...it seems like I can't," Light said softly, gripping Riku's shirt a little bit. Last night, she totally failed him. She walked out on him when he needed her. She should have done better and not let his angry comments get to her.
"My attitude wasn't helping anything. You were right with what you said before," Riku said, trying to ease the pressure Light obviously felt on her shoulders. "The Darkness was influencing my decisions, including what I said. Everything that I said to you...I'm sorry." He was cruel to her, which was something he never wanted.

Light shook her head faintly against Riku's shoulder, turning her head on his shoulder. "I wasn't mad at you in the first place," she said softly. "I was just sad." He was right in what he said about Claire still existing. Lightning was an idiot for believing a new name and personality would change everything.
"I didn't help," Riku said, referring to his attitude. He was mean to her, the worst he had ever been. Just reflecting on it made him nauseous. He didn't like thinking about it.
