Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Kairi didn't know what to say next, her eyes stuck on Sora. His form blurred because of her tears, but she still didn't speak. What could she even say to him, after what he said to her?

Sora opened his closed eyes, exhaling a soft breath and lifting a hand to ruffle his spiky hair. He turned around to face Kairi when he was sure he wasn't an open book, though she probably couldn't have read his expression because of the distance between them. He started walking back to her, though he didn't know what to say to her.
Kairi saw Sora walking toward her, but she only kept her position; hands in fists, eyes blurry, and a frown set on her face as her eyebrows remained furrowed. How could he say that she was throwing him away? She would never, ever do such a thing. He obviously didn't have as much faith in her as she thought he did.

Sora lowered his hand from the back of his head, seeing Kairi's facial expression when he was closer to her. Not what I want to see, he thought. She looked like she just called him back so that she could yell at him. He stopped a few feet away, not saying anything. He didn't know what to say.
Kairi blinked, her vision only clearing because of another tear that left one of her eyes. "Sora..." she said softly, that being the only thing she could say. She understood where he was coming from, but the fact that he didn't think she could help out here in Radiant Garden hurt her feelings. He saw that, didn't he?

Sora glanced away because of the tear he saw, the brunet lifting a hand and scratching his cheek. He didn't know what to say; he wasn't expecting Kairi to want to stay here. Away from him. "...Did I do something wrong, that you want to stay away from me?" he asked softly. That was the only thing he could think of, since he wasn't sure what exactly her reasons were to stay here if she didn't think she could help out.
"Of course not," Kairi said with a faint shake of her head. Sora hadn't done one thing wrong towards her, and if he had, she would have said it right then. But...he wasn't the reason she wanted to stay. She wanted to stay because she felt it would be right, at least in her eyes.

Sora kept his gaze over and down on the ground, his hand coming back to his side when he was done scratching his cheek out of habit. Of course not? Then he was really confused...It sounded like Kairi wanted to stay here and help even if she didn't believe she could. It didn't make sense.
"...I'm going to be honest," Kairi said after a moment of silence, her voice still trembling slightly as a tear slid down her cheek. "I want to have a real purpose here, where I grew up with my grandmother. You and Riku and Roxas...all of you are able to do extraordinary things with your Keyblades. I...can't do anything. Nothing." Kairi wiped at her tears, feeling dampness against her cheeks as she glanced away. "Just once, I want to do something to help, on my own. I owe it to these people after all they went through after I was taken from them, when my Light left this world. And I don't feel like I should just do it for them. I want to do it for my grandmother."

Sora blinked in surprise at Kairi's confession, not knowing what to say. That made sense...and it made him sad to know that these were reasons he couldn't argue against. He still wanted her with him, so badly. Didn't she see that she would still be in danger as long as she was a Princess? He couldn't stay here and protect her...
Kairi looked up at Sora then, seeing the look on his face. He was...sad, and it was because of what she just said. But she wouldn't take it back, any of it; she meant every word. She didn't want to be separated from Sora, ever, but this felt like something she had to do.

If I can't protect her, I'll have to find somebody else who can, Sora thought, though his stomach twisted at the idea. He was meant to be Kairi's protector. But his parents were strict about him living with them once the Islands were restored. He couldn't go against them, even if he was almost 18. But...Kairi... He couldn't leave her defenseless either.
Kairi took a small step forward, lifting a hand to Sora's cheek without thought. "...Please understand," she whispered softly, her moist eyes on his blue ones. He was always going to be her Prince Charming, her warrior and protector. But...she needed to do this. It felt right.

Sora lifted a hand to his cheek, wrapping his fingers around Kairi's hand while keeping his gaze over and down. "I do understand," he said softly. And that was what scared him. Yes, Kairi had real reason to be here. But he was going to be apart from her, and as much as he hated to admit it, he still didn't like not being with her. He remembered a while ago she ran into somebody else's arms while he was gone...He didn't want to risk that happening again.
Kairi glanced at Sora's hand against hers before looking back to his eyes. "You don't seem so sure about this," she commented softly, seeing how he was avoiding eye contact. Was it because they would be worlds apart? If so, she understood; she was going to be cautious and miss him greatly.
  • Author
"Because I'm meant to be your protector, and I can't be that when I'm worlds away," Sora responded quietly. He couldn't just leave her alone! This world...it went through an awful lot of danger in the past. Things could go wrong at any time as far as he was concerned.
Kairi lifted her other hand to Sora's chest without thought, not knowing how to respond to that. She stayed silent, knowing he was right. Sora couldn't protect her from another world, and it was scary knowing that. Really scary.

"...I'm sure you've already thought about this, but you're never going to be completely safe, Kairi," Sora said gently without looking up. "You're a Princess of Heart and a Keyblade wielder." Both titles would bring her a lot of trouble.
Kairi blinked at that, completely forgetting about her other title until Sora mentioned it. A Keyblade wielder... I don't even know how to use it, she thought silently. That made Sora even more right in this situation, since she wouldn't be able to protect herself.
  • Author
"...I would ask somebody else here to protect you, but it's not their job to do that," Sora said, faintly shaking his head. "It's mine." It was his responsibility, one that he was used to. And he wouldn't give it up no matter how much heartache he had to go through to protect Kairi.
Kairi's eyes softened, and she tightened her grip on Sora's shirt, her other hand hovering slightly above his cheek ever since he shook his head. "...Sora," she said softly, not knowing what to say other than that. He was right again--it was his job, and always would be. No matter what. But that was the thing... He would die to save her, because he had before, when he gave her her heart back. And it terrified her to know he would do it again. She didn't want that...ever.

Sora was silent now, out of things to say. He got across what he had to say; Kairi may have had valid reasons for staying, but he had valid reasons for her to come with him. But in the end, this was her choice. Not his.
Kairi looked down at Sora's chest, her expression changing to one of sadness. "...I just want to do what's right," she reasoned softly. "But no matter what I choose, it's wrong." One way or another, she was wrong; she either went with Sora and neglected to help the people here, or she stayed and took the risk of her relationship with Sora falling apart. It was awful.
  • Author
"I know how you feel," Sora responded softly, his hand still holding Kairi's by his cheek. He always seemed to be faced with terrible situations, where either path he took, things turned out wrong. He didn't know what advice to offer except to go with the decision she could live with.
Kairi closed her eyes, releasing a soft breath. Of course Sora knew how she felt; he was a Keyblade wielder after all. But so was she....even if she neglected to use hers apart from a few years ago or with Jafar. Regardless, he had it much worse than her. Should she comply with his wishes and go with him, to make things easier for him? Or did she stay?
