Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

A few days later...

Kairi pulled at the longer sleeves of the sweatshirt that now covered her torso, also dressed in shorts and some sneakers for the day. She smiled as she looked at the article of clothing covering her upper body, knowing who gave it to her because of Riku. It was Sora's gift to her, for her eighteenth birthday. He couldn't make it, a message Riku delivered himself to her just this afternoon. Her best friend was walking beside her now, though she did wish the boy she loved was here in Radiant Garden as well. But...the gift was enough; it was her favorite sweatshirt of Sora's, that was now hers. It smelled just like him too, which she liked. Kairi missed him dearly.

Sora stopped himself before he could rub his dirty hands on his khaki shorts or his red polo, the teen knowing he couldn't be messy today. He stepped over and grabbed a towel, wiping his hands on that. He was cooking a meal, which was a pretty scary picture since he wasn't a good cook. But he felt like he did well with this meal--Stuffed shells and garlic bread and salad. Unlike the last time he tried making bread, he didn't let it get burnt. He set the bread on the nicely-set table, knowing Riku was bringing her back to his location soon. He had been preparing this all day to surprise her, and Riku was his accomplice. His friend knew all his plans for the night and gladly helped keep Kairi out of the house the past few hours for him.
Riku walked with his hands in his pockets, seeing that they were only a block away from Kairi's house. He turned his head to look down at his best friend, nudging her a little when he saw her expression. "Cheer up," he told her gently. "He tried his hardest to make it, trust me. His parents just wouldn't let him leave the Islands today." They knew it was Kairi's birthday, but that wasn't a good enough reason for Sora to leave the world, or so Kairi was supposed to believe. Riku knew of the surprise later on tonight, and he was happy for both of his friends. Kairi would react well to it. There was no doubt in his mind. If he didn't think it would go well, Riku wouldn't have agreed to this.

Sora glanced at the shells in the oven, deciding now was a good time to set the other stuff on the table while the main food remained heated. He grabbed the salad and dressing Kairi liked and set it on the table, nervous but excited. This night was going to be very, very special. He couldn't wait to see Kairi's face...He wished he could have spent the whole day with her, but if he did that, his plan wouldn't have worked. And besides, Riku was a good friend to his girlfriend, so he must have enjoyed the day with Kairi too.

Kairi looked up at Riku and smiled softly with a nod. "I know," she said quietly. Sora probably did try his hardest, and that was alright. She knew he would have been here if he could. Besides, his parents were definitely important, since they had been separated from Sora for a while, and now they knew why. Even if it was her birthday, she wasn't going to be one of those reasons. She would hopefully see him tomorrow then, so they could get some quality time in. "Tell him thank you for me, would you? When you head back?" They were just a few houses down from her home, so Riku would be leaving soon. He couldn't stay all day either; he was needed at the Islands.

"Mm," Riku hummed with a crooked smile. Of course, he wasn't going to have to do anything for Kairi; she would see Sora soon enough. After all, he was just inside her house, probably making the kitchen a mess. Regardless, it would turn out great. He had faith in his best friend.

Sora wiped down the area in the kitchen, the area mostly clean surprisingly. He made sure not to ruin Kairi's kitchen while he was here, or set anything on fire. He was all set...He felt himself smile in anticipation, the brunet extremely excited. But he had to stay as cool as possible or she would know something was up later.
Kairi smiled up at Riku for a second longer before she focused forward, seeing her house just a few yards ahead. She dug into one of her pockets and grabbed her key, glancing down at it before she approached the front door. Of course, she glanced at the sleeves of Sora's sweatshirt again when she started to unlock the door, smiling to herself at the thought of him. He was such a sweetheart, giving her something she favored that was his. It was a sentimental gift, one that meant a lot to her. If only he were here...

Sora's trained ears picked up on the key in the door, even if he was in another room. He dropped the rag on the counter and hurried into the other room, standing in the doorway to the kitchen and staring at the front door as he waited for Kairi and Riku to come through. She was going to be so surprised to see him...
Once the door was unlocked, Riku pushed the door open for Kairi. She glanced up at him with another smile of appreciation. He was such a good friend, spending the day with her like this. She stepped in, her eyes leaving him. "Thanks, Ri--" Kairi stopped short, her sight now on the room in front of her, and the person in the doorway. "--ku." In the kitchen doorway was the boy she loved... Sora. What was he doing here?!

Sora smirked at Kairi's reaction, his hands in his pockets casually. "Surprise," he said with a cheesy smile, shrugging a little. He was here to celebrate Kairi's birthday with her, and he was going to make this day really special. Turning 18 was a big deal, at least to him. His birthday happened a few weeks ago and they hadn't done anything for it, but that was perfectly alright. Kairi's birthday was going to be much more important.
Kairi stood there in shock for a moment, though she was smiling. She heard Riku's soft chuckle behind her but ignored it, forcing her feet to move after dropping her key onto a table near the door. "Sora," she breathed, walking faster as she approached him. He was here!

Sora chuckled, taking his hands out of his pockets and walking at a more casual pace to the girl he loved. He opened his arms to her and embraced her when she was close, a more genuine smile forming on his lips. He had missed Kairi, a lot. He was glad to see her again.
Kairi wrapped her arms around Sora's shoulders and neck, squeezing her eyes shut as she smiled in their embrace. Gosh, how she missed him. It had been at least two weeks since they were together last. She saw Terra, Aqua, and Ven last week, though she secretly hoped Sora would be with them, but he never came. But now, he was here, on her birthday. "You're here..."

"I wouldn't miss your birthday, goof," Sora said lovingly in her ear, gently squeezing her. He knew the note earlier said he was sorry for not being able to make it, and he hoped the sweatshirt would make her feel like she was in his arms, but that wasn't really true. He would much rather have her really in her arms, like she was now.
Kairi giggled a little, enjoying the feeling of being in Sora's hold again. "I should have known," she said softly in agreement. She knew Sora would make it if he could, and he obviously did. But why here? Why at her house and not with her and Riku?

Sora smiled at Kairi before lifting his gaze to his friend by the front door. "Thanks for buying me some time, Riku," he said with a grateful nod. I couldn't have done it without you. The dinner took him a while, but it was all set now. And he hoped Kairi would enjoy it.

Riku nodded once, still standing by the door with his hands at his sides. He saw Kairi turn her head a little in Sora's embrace to look at him, and he only smirked at her expression. "Happy birthday, Kairi," he said softly. He may have lied, but it was for good reason.

Kairi's surprised expression was gone now, a smile replacing it. "Thank you, Riku," she said with genuine gratitude. He was a great friend, doing this for Sora and for her.

Sora gently squeezed Kairi before he let her go, knowing maybe she would want to hug Riku before he went back home. He wouldn't stick around, because he knew Sora's plans for the rest of the night. He needed all the time he could get so this worked well.

Riku saw Kairi release Sora as well and start toward him, and he immediately opened his arms for a hug. Kairi wrapped her arms around him and he did the same, looking down at his "little sister". They let each other go after a second and he nodded to her and to Sora, his eyes on the latter. "You two enjoy yourselves," he said with a crooked smile. "I'll see you soon."

Kairi linked her hands behind her back, feeling the fabric of Sora's sweatshirt against her fingers as she nodded to her best friend. She appreciated him visiting her today; it meant a lot to her.

Sora smiled crookedly back at Riku, knowing his friend was silently wishing him good luck for the rest of the night. He was sure it'd be great, since he wasn't going to let anything ruin this. It was important to him, and to Kairi, too, even if she didn't know his plans.
Kairi said goodbye to Riku before shutting the door softly behind him. She then turned around, looking at Sora briefly before her eyes found his hoodie. "Thank you...for the gift," she said softly, gripping the ends of the sleeves with her fingers. Kairi then looked up at the boy she held such strong feelings for. "I love it." It didn't matter if it wasn't jewelry or anything expensive; it was the thought that counted for her.

"I'm glad," Sora said, his smile turning more genuine. "But there's a lot more to your birthday gift than just that." He had a lot of things planned for her, and he knew she would love it all. Except for his food, maybe. But...it was at least edible, right?
Kairi tilted her head, curiosity in her eyes. "Oh?" she asked softly. She couldn't imagine what else Sora had for her today, but he was dressed pretty nice. What did that mean?

Sora's smile turned cheesy again, the brunet planning on having fun with this. "You'll be proud to hear I cooked a meal without setting anything on fire," he said quietly, thinking of the food already set on the table and the shells staying warm in the oven.
Kairi blinked at that, a little surprised to hear that Sora made a meal for them. But she smiled a bit more nonetheless, nodding. "Of course," she said softly. She didn't want her kitchen being burned down, after all. But Sora was a good cook when he was careful. She was sure the food would be great.
