Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Kairi remembered the last time she was in here. Her grandmother had read her a bedtime story before she went to bed, and after that...she was in Destiny Islands. It was shortly after meeting Aqua that it happened. This room brought back too many memories, some that Kairi couldn't handle. She tightened her grasp on Sora's hand and turned around, leaving the room.

Sora felt Kairi's tug and walked away from the room with her, his gaze going to her face. She was facing this without backing down, which was good, but this was still hard for her. He almost wished she would just turn away from it all so he didn't have to see her in pain, but he knew it was necessary for her to face this. He wouldn't be foolish enough to try and talk her out of something so important.
"...The last room I want to see is my grandmother's," Kairi said softly, glancing behind her without actually making eye contact with Sora. She continued leading him down the hall, briefly recalling which door was her grandmother's. Hopefully there was something in their symbolic and encouraging, a sign of some kind. She couldn't be here for nothing.

"Alright," Sora said quietly, nodding even though Kairi wasn't looking at him. He was a bit surprised she didn't want to explore more than that, but that was alright. Like he thought up earlier, she would have plenty of time to explore this house, so there was no point rushing through it and facing her past all at once. It was better this way.
Kairi approached the end of the hall, seeing that this door was propped open softly. She lightly pushed it open, her hold loosening on Sora's hand slightly when she saw that her grandmother's room was spotless, the bed made and the wardrobe clean. She glanced back at Sora briefly, silently telling him that she needed to separate from him to look around. She felt drawn to this room for some reason, like her heart was telling her she was supposed to be here right now. It was strange.

Sora nodded faintly in understanding, letting Kairi's hand go. If she needed to face this without him glued to her side, then that was perfectly alright. He'd stay by the doorway, within sight but not pressuring her for any reason. She knew that she could take all the time that she needed, and he wouldn't leave no matter how much Riku would scold him for skipping work today. Kairi needed him.
Kairi remembered receiving the hairpin from her grandmother in the past, knowing as a child that she kept it in her jewelry box alongside her other treasures. The redhead approached the vanity, seeing that the jewelry box was really here, in reality. Looking down at it, she noticed it was covered in dust. She didn't bother wiping it away, instead opening the box. A small tune started to come out of it, which made Kairi smile. She saw a few rings and necklaces inside it, but what caught her eye was that the base of the box was uneven at the bottom. Hm?

Sora leaned a shoulder against the doorway casually, his gaze on the ground. He briefly looked up at the music, but then his gaze went back down to the floor. Was that a music box, or just a jewelry box? He couldn't really see it because of Kairi's position, but that was perfectly alright with him, since he would find out if it was important. He would be patient with Kairi, just like he always was.
Kairi's smile faded as her eyebrows furrowed, the girl concentrating. Her heart told her to find what she was missing, and she had a feeling this was it. She lifted the first section of the box, already knowing that it would come out. But the bottom, she now noticed, had a flap. There's something under here, she thought silently, reaching in and lifting the bottom. She blinked when she saw that there was a note underneath, her name written in smooth cursive. "...Sora."

Sora blinked at the mention of his name, his shoulder coming off the doorway as he looked to Kairi. "Mm?" he hummed in question, staying where he was for now. Why did Kairi's voice sound so off like that? He couldn't read her tone well enough to make a judgment on what was going on, so he just waited for her to keep speaking to him.
"...I think I just realized why I had to come here," Kairi said softly, turning her head to look at her fiance. There was a letter inside for her, from her grandmother. That was the only person she could think of that would write her something and stick it in this box. She needed to know something, didn't she?
  • Author
Sora tilted his head slightly without thought, his eyes locking onto Kairi's when they were within his sight. "Why's that?" he couldn't help but ask, gently prompting her. There was a real reason she was here, not just to explore the house and face her past? Maybe this had to do with the reason he was here as well...He didn't know yet, but he would find out soon enough.
Kairi briefly turned her attention back to the jewelry box, reaching inside and grabbing the envelope. She shut the box, the music finally turning off as she turned around. "Look," she said, holding the envelope up for Sora to see. This was what she was here for. For this letter.
  • Author
Sora stepped forward at the sight of the envelope, the teen stopping by his fiance and eying the item. Her name was written on it, clearly. "She left you something?" he asked, though it was pretty obvious that was the case. And it was hidden, so whatever was in it was clearly meant for only Kairi to find. But what could it have been?
"Mm," Kairi hummed softly, her eyes on Sora's face while he looked at the piece of the puzzle she was meant to find. She lowered her gaze to it as well, seeing her grandmother's clear handwriting on the white paper. She had to admit, she was a little hesitant to open it. The information in here could be life-changing. Being here alone was enough for one day; she wasn't sure she could handle much more.
  • Author
Sora kept his eyes on the envelope, wondering if Kairi was planning on opening it today or not. He hated to admit it, but he couldn't stay here forever with her. Riku was already going to be ticked at him for skipping work to see Kairi, though his friend couldn't really blame him. Riku knew now what it was like to love somebody, and how hard it was to be away from them.
"I'm...scared, to open it," Kairi admitted softly, looking up at the man she loved. After finding this, she felt her visit today was complete. Maybe she would feel more comfortable opening it when she was at her own home, not too far away from here. Or was she just making excuses?
  • Author
Sora hummed, nodding slightly in understanding. Of course; he should have realized that was what Kairi was struggling with by not opening the letter. It could have held something scary, or something that could rock her world completely. "What you do with it is up to you," he said softly, lifting his gaze to her eyes. If she wanted to read it, she could. If not, then she could get rid of it or set it aside where she could read it at another time.
Kairi nodded slightly and looked at her fiance for another moment. She really appreciated having him here with her today; his presence helped her keep going until she found what she was supposed to. "...Can we go, please?" she asked softly. She didn't want to stay any longer, just wanting to go home and think. She'd been in her grandmother's home long enough.
  • Author
Sora nodded again, without hesitation. "Yeah, let's go," he said softly. He had no reason for staying here apart from Kairi, so if she wanted to go, then that was what they would do. He'd take her home, make sure she was okay, and then he'd have to leave. I hate this, being torn between Kairi and my home. I'm always neglecting one or the other.
Kairi smiled weakly at her husband-to-be, nodding to him in thanks. She then stepped past him, refusing to glance back at her grandmother's bedroom. She had to go; she was here enough for one day.

Sora followed behind Kairi until they were out of the house, the teen being quiet and giving her the room that she needed to think. When they were outside, he walked beside her with an arm wrapped around her shoulders. He was there to help her if she needed his assistance; surely she knew that.
Kairi held the envelope to her chest as she walked with Sora, staying close to him because she wanted to and because of his arm around her. His comfort was so helpful, and she was looking forward to it for the rest of her life. But first, she had to get past this small bump in the road.
  • Author
Sora rubbed Kairi's shoulder, seeing her house up ahead. He didn't say anything, mostly because he didn't know what to say. The letter was important to Kairi since she held it to her chest, but it also scared her that what was inside could change her world. He was nervous too, since a lot of what she did affected him.
Kairi turned her head, looking up at the man she loved. "Will you be heading back?" she asked softly, her eyes locking onto his. She knew Sora had other responsibilities back on the Islands alongside her friends. He needed to head back sometime or another.
