Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"When it comes to people like you, it's not," Riku said, keeping his position. His grip remained tight on the Keyblade, the young man tempted to throw it or just destroy something with it he was so angry. But he couldn't, not here.

Lightning shook her head, also lifting it and opening her eyes to look at Riku. "You have no idea what I'd do for a Keyblade," she said softly. "It'd give me a purpose worth living for." Was her life right now worth living for now that she knew about other worlds and all the miseries out there? She couldn't be content here, living her tiny little life. She...wanted to make a difference.
"You wouldn't do anything if it kept you from getting close to someone," Riku said tightly. He wasn't hesitant with Light, and now he was in too deep to dig his way out. He wouldn't take back everything with Light, he just didn't want to put her through what he himself dealt with every day. Decisions like this, separating her from her family, having her be lonely... It was awful.

Light sighed, lowering her head again and shutting her eyes. She knew all the bad things that came along with the Keyblade. She dealt with that reality every day. But if she had one too, she and Riku wouldn't have this problem. She would have broken out of her shallow life a long time ago to pursue a life that actually meant something in the long run. She didn't want to just live a life to satisfy herself. So...the Keyblade was still worth it, in her eyes.
Riku opened his eyes, though he couldn't see much despite his ability to see in the dark; everything was blurry. "I need to go," he said, keeping his grip on his Keyblade. He was going to have to use it anyway. He couldn't stay here when he was like this, or when he and Light were fighting like this. It was time he went home.

Fine, Claire thought silently, not bothering to say anything. She hated it when Riku walked out, but their fights always seemed to end with one of them leaving. This was her house, so obviously it wasn't going to be her. She almost wished it was, because she would have left at the very start of the argument to prevent things from getting this deep.
Riku took in a shaky breath, his moist eyes lifting to the woman he loved. "You know where to find me," he said, his voice trembling as well as he fought his emotions. He stared at Lightning for another brief moment before he turned, walking out the door. He wasn't going to come back for a while, not if things were going to be like this again.

Yeah, I know where to find you. Not that it matters, since I can't get there, Lightning thought bitterly, hearing Riku leave. She did have a ship that could survive the flight between worlds for a little while, but the warp device was broken now, so it didn't work. And Odin was no longer capable of taking her from world to world; the strain had always been hard on him, but now that she wasn't using him as often, his strength diminished slightly and now he couldn't be used for that type of travel. She could retrain him to do it...if she had time and energy. But it would also be at the cost of her job, since she couldn't leave. She sighed, shaking her head. She still had to choose between Riku and her job, whether he liked it or not. That was how it had to be.
Riku reached the balcony and summoned his armor, refusing to let any moisture leave his eyes as he hopped onto his glider. He summoned a portal immediately and flew through it without looking back, not even glancing back at Cocoon once he was outside it. He flew towards the Islands, where hopefully there wasn't as much work to do. He wasn't up for it anymore.

Lightning dragged herself out of bed and went back out to the living room where she was before, the paperwork still out. She swallowed some of the cold coffee before she got back to work, looking at the papers through moist eyes as she picked up where she left off. If Riku wanted her to keep living this mundane, pointless life, then she would. But she wouldn't pretend to be happy about it.
Riku made it back to the Islands quickly, having found a shortcut after all the times he flew from there to Cocoon and back. He entered his world through a portal and immediately jumped off his glider, landing in the sand safely on his feet. His armor disappeared, and so did all of the emotion on his face. It was time to get back to work.

Two days later

Namine sat out on the balcony on Lightning's house, enjoying the fresh air. It was a gorgeous day, with the sun shining so radiantly and the temperature just right. The blonde was currently sketching the landscape, Jazz laying on the porch a few feet away. She may have been into her drawing, but she was keeping an eye on the clock, since she and Lightning were supposed to meet for lunch. Lightning didn't reach out to people often, but after Riku's fight, she reached out to Namine for help, and she couldn't just leave her hanging.

Roxas soared into Cocoon's atmosphere on his glider, his armor currently covering his form so the Darkness didn't affect him during his travel. He was too excited to worry about it anyway; he was going to see Namine soon. He remembered where Lightning's house was and headed in that direction, able to see it within his sight already. He was lucky enough to open a portal nearby.

Namine blinked when Jasmine suddenly started barking, her gaze going to the chocolate-colored dog to see what the problem was. The dog was on her feet and looking to the sky, which Namine didn't understand. Birds? "Jazz," she shushed, setting her sketchpad down before she got off her chair and went over to the dog. She set a hand on the dog's head and finally looked up to the sky, her eyes widening when she saw that Jazz wasn't barking at birds. Was that Roxas?
Roxas smiled behind his mask when he heard Jasmine, also seeing the girl he loved on the balcony. Perfect timing, he thought. He swung his glider to a stop just in front of the balcony, the boy willing his armor to fade away. Once it was gone, he could see Namine clearly. "Hey baby," he greeted with the same wide smile. He hadn't seen her in weeks. It was about time he came by.

Namine couldn't help but smile, standing upright and walking over right to the edge of the balcony while a fence kept her separated from Roxas. That, and the fact that he was still hovering over the air; she couldn't exactly get to him when he was on his glider like that. "Roxas," she said without thought, face brightening at his presence as she set a hand on the fence. What was he doing here? It had been so long since she saw him last...She was really surprised.
Roxas's smile remained, the boy's eyes staying on the girl he loved with all he had. "Surprised to see me?" he asked tauntingly, seeing that she was obviously in a state of shock. It had been almost a month since they'd last seen each other, and he missed her like crazy. He was sure it was the same way for her.

Namine shook her head, still smiling as she kept her gaze on Roxas. She wasn't just imagining that he was here now, right? No, she couldn't have been. "Of course I'm surprised, goof," she commented lightly, getting over the shock and just feeling glad that he was with her now. "It's not every day you stop by to visit." And it wasn't every other day, or every other week. It must have been a month since he was here last.
"Yeah...." Roxas lifted a hand to the back of his head, his happy smile turning into a sheepish one. "Sorry about that. It's been a little too hectic lately." He never got free time. It was sleep, eat, get to work, eat, and sleep again. He had no time for the person he loved, which was depressing. Namine deserved the best, and he definitely wasn't giving that to her.

Namine hummed, nodding slightly. "It's alright," she said softly, looking down when Jazz was beside her and nudging her free hand. She lifted the hand and started rubbing the dog's head, not minding that the dog gave her a reason to look away from Roxas's eyes when she spoke. Of course it wasn't alright that they hadn't seen each other for so long, but neither of them could help that. Namine couldn't leave this world without Lightning, and Lightning was too busy with her job. And Roxas was too busy with his.
Roxas's smile disappeared completely when Namine looked away. The boy lowered his glider that way he was at eye level with her, and also closer to the balcony--close enough that he was hardly a foot from the girl he loved. "No," he said softly. "It's not." It wasn't alright. It wouldn't be until they were together again, for good.

Namine looked back up at Roxas, her eyes finding his as her hand sat still on Jasmine's head. "Maybe not," she agreed softly. "But..." But what else were they supposed to do? Either Namine lived here with Lightning or she lived with Kairi in Radiant Garden. Right now, there was no place for her on Destiny Islands, or by Roxas's side. A little girl like her wouldn't be too useful for all the hard work the boys were doing on the Islands.
"I know," Roxas said, aware of what Namine was getting at. "We don't have a choice. But it'll work out, I promise. We'll be together soon enough." And for real this time, not just this visiting stuff. Sora and Kairi were engaged, but that didn't mean he and Namine couldn't have that same future. It would happen. He would make sure of it.

Namine hummed, nodding slightly. That was a big promise to make, and she didn't really want to get her hopes up just in case things didn't go their way. Roxas had good intentions, but he couldn't fulfill all his promises all the time, especially when he had other obligations with the Islands and the Keyblade. But she wouldn't argue with him, because right now, she just wanted to be in his arms.
Don't look at me like that, Roxas wanted to say, seeing the way Namine was gazing at him. She may have agreed, but it was obvious that she didn't really mean it. His expression softened and he lifted his hands to the balcony, detaching himself from the glider and hauling himself over the fence to land smoothly on the balcony. He stood upright when he was on his feet, his eyes returning to the girl he loved. He wanted to fulfill the promise he made, and he would. But he just needed time.
