Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"What?" Riku said then, taking a small step closer to Light at the news. "Why?" What happened to cause her suspension? Something bad, really bad, obviously. But he couldn't imagine what. He knew she was having trouble and such, and now she seemed worse. Much worse.

"I lost my temper with Carson and slugged him. Twice." And I used more curse words with him than I have in the past year, Light silently added, leaving that part out. She wasn't sure how Riku would like to hear that she had a potty-mouth when she lost her temper, but he would probably find out from Roxas or Namine whenever Riku saw them next. After all, they were both there, watching the whole thing, or so she assumed.
Riku didn't know how to respond to that, so he didn't say anything. Instead he just blinked, unsure of what else to do. Lightning...hit Carson? A lieutenant? That definitely wasn't a good idea, so he could see why she got suspended from that. But what she alright?

"It's caught on camera, so that makes it even worse," Light mumbled while looking at the ground beside Riku's feet. Carson may have touched her first, but that didn't mean that she had to slug him. And that was already after she swore at him...Any sign of disrespect towards a commanding officer was a serious offense. Carson must have been thrilled that she screwed up so badly, but here she was, actually upset over it. It seemed like all the crap that she put up with the past few months was for nothing.
"Are you alright?" Riku asked after a second's hesitance. He lifted a hand and set it on Lightning's shoulder, touching her for the first time since their fight a few days ago. It was probably a stupid question to ask, but he needed to know.

Light shook her head slightly, not looking up at Riku's face even when she felt his hand on her shoulder. "I don't know." She honestly didn't, because just a few days ago, she had been prepared to give up her job to be with Riku. Now...She still wanted to be with him, desperately. But she wanted her job too, because it ended up meaning the world to her. If she couldn't serve a military, how could she make a difference?
Riku gazed at Lightning in silence, not liking to hear that. "...I'm sorry," he said softly. That was awful, that she was suspended. She was devastated, even he could see that. He knew that her job meant the world to her, which was why he didn't want her to leave it behind. And now she was suspended, and he could see that she was distraught. This wasn't okay.

Light nodded slightly, lifting her hand off her wounded arm to reveal more of the skin as she set her hand on Riku's as it sat on her shoulder. She didn't know what she had expected him to say or do, since there was no way that anybody could fix this situation. She screwed up and lost her temper, and in the end, she would lose it all because of that. Over six years of work down the drain because of one stupid move.
At the movement, Riku couldn't help but look down at Lightning's arm. It was then that he saw the large bruise. He tensed at the sight, seeing how awful it looked, but he also felt himself get angry. There were only two ways she could have gotten that bruise. It was either through training or what happened earlier today. "...Did he touch you?" he asked stiffly, his eyes on the wound.

Lightning blinked at the question, also lifting her eyes to Riku's face when she heard his tone of voice. And when she saw his gaze on her arm, she looked down at it as well and saw the bruise that had formed without her noticing. "...He snapped my arm when I went in for a third punch," she said softly. The bruise was a minor wound compared to how her arm had been broken, and so easily. She was like a twig to him.
Riku blinked, his eyes widening. Snapped? He broke Lightning's arm?! "...He's dead," he said, the boy looking off to the side as his eyes narrowed once again. He wasn't happy about this, not one bit. Now he was going to have to go back to Cocoon to teach Carson not to touch his girl. Nobody touched her like that.

"You kill him and you'll never be allowed on Cocoon again," Lightning said, closing her eyes and thinking more rationally than she had been earlier. She wanted to make Carson pay too, but she wouldn't be allowed near him, probably ever. But he could still find ways to torture her, whether she got back into the Corps or not. She wasn't sure if he hated her because she was a threat to him because of her potential in the Corps or because he didn't trust her, but either way, she ended up losing to him.
Riku closed his eyes, shaking his head. "He shouldn't get away with it," he commented softly, tightening his grip on Light's shoulder. Nobody was supposed to hurt her, especially someone she worked with. Did he even have to be so harsh?
  • Author
"He probably will," Light commented quietly. "He's got a lot of friends who can get him out of trouble and put all the blame on me. My career's probably over." She wasn't exaggerating; she was telling things as they were. It was unfair that people with bad intentions had control over her life yet again, but she couldn't fight the system, not this time. This time, she couldn't do a thing.
"...And you don't want it to be," Riku assumed then, his voice soft as he lifted his eyes to the woman he loved. If she agreed, then he was right with what he said earlier. She wasn't the one that was meant to make the sacrifice in their relationship. It was him.

Light shook her head softly. "I don't know what I want," she said quietly. She was too emotionally shaken to think about this rationally; she needed to gain a new perspective so that she could reach a real position about this. Until then...she didn't know what she'd do. She supposed that she'd probably just go home, since Riku was busy working before she got here.
Riku lifted his other hand, bringing it up and cupping Lightning's cheek. "It's alright," he said softly. She didn't have to know what she wanted right now; he could tell she wasn't exactly stable at the moment. She could take a few days to think about it.

Light nodded faintly in recognition, Riku's gentle touch making her want to cry. She didn't want to do that here; she didn't feel she had the right to, since she blamed herself for a lot of the fight the other night. "Um...I guess I should let you get back to work," she said softly after a minute of silence, her eyes opening as she gazed down at the ground by Riku. She didn't really have anything else to say, and she couldn't ask Riku to slack off just to be with her.
Riku shook his head, taking a small step closer to Lightning, not that he wasn't close in the first place. "...I'll take the rest of the day off," he said then, trying to persuade her to stay on the Islands. "You can stay here." Roxas was with Namine still, right? So there was nothing stopping her from staying, unless she just didn't want to. If that was the case, it was alright. He would understand.

"But, haven't you taken off a lot lately?" Light asked softly, lifting her gaze to Riku's shoulder when he stepped closer to her. He came to see her a few times, and he helped Sora out with something he was doing for Kairi. Could Riku take off another day and not get in trouble? She was having enough chaos in her life for the both of them; she didn't want it for him too.
"I don't really care," Riku admitted with a small shake of his head, running his thumb over Lightning's cheek. He just wanted to be with her. She had it hard enough; he didn't need to be giving her the cold shoulder.

"I do," Lightning said, finally lifting her gaze to Riku's eyes. She was just punished severely for a screw up, and she didn't want Riku going through the same thing in his life. Besides, this was about all the Islanders and his friends, not just him. They were depending on him to help rebuilt the Islands, and she was sure that he wanted to do that too, since his home was so precious to him.
Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, just holding her gaze, but then he sighed, lowering it. He didn't want to go back to work, but couldn't Lightning stay until after he was done? He didn't want them to be separated completely while she was so upset, and while he was so desperate to be with her after their fight the other night. "...If you insist," he said softly. He would go.

Light looked away, nodding slightly in recognition to Riku's decision. That was what he had to do, even if she didn't want to be apart from him. She took her hand off his shoulder wordlessly, letting that hand come back down to her side while they other stayed where it was. She had to let him go; she couldn't bring him down with her problems. She supposed...she came just to see his face, to know that she hadn't lost him too. She couldn't have expected him to give up work for her.
Riku took his hands back, his eyes finding his beloved. "...Don't leave, okay?" he begged softly. "I'll be done soon." Then they could have the rest of the day to themselves. After hearing about what happened with Carson, he wanted nothing more than to be with her. Lightning needed someone, and he wanted to be that person.
