Chapter One

The boy had been away for more than a year now.An agonising wait for Crepusculum. The land hadn't been the same since.Crepusculum was deeply unhappy with the way things had turned out,and everyday since he bled the salt of his soul and it poured from his eyes, where his clenched fists press, blocking out all the light. He sees the darkness that he knew would soon swallow him, and he fears it.It appeared that his final moments seemed to be running down his very cheek.

In his room,Crepusculum would sit in the sheltered corner, where his thoughts roamed around and around, with one thought branded on the sinew of his brain. The cold air sang around him, while the raindrops tapdanced on the window. His sigh of lonliness fresh in the room.Together, the three components formed a song,a sinister flow of notes that haunted him and mocked him. The song would play into the room almost everyday, and it played the part of a constant reminder. The moment he felt a tickle upon his pale, ice cold cheeks,he rose his almost non-responsive fingers and pinpointed the target that was dripping slowly. His eyes were screaming for justice with each translucent trickle of emotions.

He closed his lids, wanting to escape the prominent torture he faced daily.

There he stood, kitted in his finery. The eternal sea of black coats and jackets just complimented the morbid atmosphere. His father, who was standing beside him, mopped up his tears with his sleeve, and his mother let out angry, tearless sighs. He seemed to be embarassed by old men standing up to shake his hand. Before, the body had arrived on scene, stanched and bandaged by

the nurses.Crepusculum saw him for the first time in 6 weeks now, with a poppy scar near his left temple. He lay in the coffin as lifeless as he had himself been moments earlier.A four foot coffin, a foot for every year.Crepus' eyes snapped open.He then began to let out angry, tearless sighs, mirroring his mother,10 years ago,but now he felt the same way about the scenario unfolding right before his eyes.A different scenario.

Today would be held forever in his mind.Today was the day he accepted it.The room next to his would be forever empty.
