He saw a lonely girl. She saw a lonely world.

It was a canvas, slyly careless.

Courage came only from his symphonies.

A decorative smile to fade out.

His concerto in A.

Dear artist you will rise again.

(Okay :D)

Namine sighed, her brow slightly wrinkled in concentration. Her hand flew gracefully across the canvas, the light blue charcoal flowing onto the paper. She connected it with several others already drawn, smiling softly at lost. She was almost done. Sunlight filtered through the shop window, steam from a mug of hot chocolate permeating in the air, giving the blond a warm, toasty feeling. She enjoyed days like this, despite the cold, unforgiving winter winds that rattled the windows from the outside and seeped through her white knit sweater.

(Lulz. You said Toasty xD)

Demyx sighed. Band practice hadn't gone well. In fact, he couldn't even think of a new song. His insperation was lost and he couldn't seem to find it. He walked and walked for what seemed like hours until he reached a coffe shop called Sip of Life.

"Sounds cheesy." he said to himself, chuckling a bit. He saw a couple of musicians playing soft jazz. He decided that he'd probably get an idea hearing them play. With a small jingle, he opened the door and entered.

(Lol, I couldn't resist ^^')

Namine looked up briefly when she heard the door open but shivered, causing her to look down before she could spot the new customer. However, when the chill died away, she looked up with careful blue eyes to see a teenage boy only a few years older than her. Probably by 1 or 2 years really. He had dirty blond hair styled into a messy but somewhat attractive crossbreed of a Mullet and a Mohawk. His eyes shone bright against his fair, tan skin, the hue being an unexplainable shade of aquamarine. A cerulean blue hoodie wrapped him in warmth, a black, graphic T-shirt under that, with a pair of jeans, ripped at the knees. She took that in in a minute or so, before looking down to her sketch and choosing a lighter green. She hoped her Uncle Vexen wouldn't get angered at her lack of work. She was on an "extended" break at the moment. One she had granted herself due to her sudden inspiration.

(xDDD Uncle Vexen, I'm sorry, I had to ^^')

(I thought it was Uncle Marluxia? xDD)

Demyx walked in the coffee shop and took in the smell of coffee beans. There were many people in there for a coffee shop. Couples mostly. It kind of made Demyx uncomfortable. He wanted to leave but at this point he was desperate for a rainbow of creativity. He sat in a table across from this blonde girl he saw in the corner of his eye. He put his head down on the table, letting the flow of the music sink in.

Nothing.

(xD Noooo, he's a cousin xD)

Namine watched as the quite attractive boy sat at a table across from her before smiling and humming a small lilt, one of the meaningless tunes she often created, and continued the picture. The waves rolled against the cliff side elegantly, contrasting brilliantly with the sunset in the background. A girl stood on the edge, a smile o her face but tears cascading down her cheeks to drip peacefully into the salt water below. It was a mellow scene, but one that held a message of sadness. On the bottom of the page the picture was labeled: Beautiful Disaster. She was nearly done, she just needed to paint over the water and sketch over the sunset to make it more realistic. Over the years Namine had become quite the skilled artist.

(Not like the artist she is now. xD)

Demyx heard a slight hum rise above the music and sounds. He looked towards the direction from whence it came and saw a beautiful girl with slightly curly hair. Her blue eyes were deep and mysterious, like the ocean itself. Her hair as golden as the sun. The way it was combed to one side was cute but also very elegant, as simple as it was.

He couldn't help but have his jaw drop slightly and feel his heart skip a beat.

(xD How mean...but true ^^')

Namine bobbed her head from side to side, humming a bit louder now, the melody mixing nicely, but a little awkwardly, with the jazz music roaming around the shop. Her foot tapped a soft beat and her eyes closed languidly, the paint brush moving silently on the paper with ease, not making an unfluid mistake as she layered the sea with a glistening, clear green. She was completely oblivious to the boy sitting next to her, gawking just slightly at her. She was in her state of piece.

Demyx rose to his feet. He couldn't take it anymore. He HAD to know her name. To know if she'd be back again. To know if he could at least hear her voice speak one word. However, it seemed that every step he took towards her made him get colder and colder. Was this because he was getting nervous? No way. He reached the girl's table and by this time, he was freezing cold.

"H-hey..! C-can I um....see y-your drawing?" He asked, stuttering. 'GAH! YOU SOUND LIKE SUCH AN IDIOT!' He said to himself.

Namine's tune was broken as she blinked, surprised, and looked up at the same boy from before who was now at her table. Not intending to be rude, to a costumer to say the least, she smiled warmly and handed the mystery boy her picture gingerly, careful not to mess it up.

"Of course you can." She replied sweetly, her words slipping off her tongue like nothing. She paid no mind to the teen's stuttering or his nervous body language, he was probably still getting over the cold weather he had come from...

"Cool. Th-thanks."

Demyx took the picture, still shaking slightly. He tried to stay still. He didn't want to ruin her art.

Demyx scanned the picture. The water looked so fluid and beautiful, complemented with the pink and yellow sky. He looked at the girl on the cliff with tears in her eyes. It seemed to calm him down, howver, he didn't know why...

"Why's she crying..?" He asked, concerned.

Namine looked at him in confusion, before another smile flitted across her face again and she brushed some of her blond bangs out of her eyes.

"It has to do with the title of the piece. This girl is really standing in her own beautiful despite the thought of being a

disaster to everyone else around her." She explained calmly, feeling a small twinge in her chest. Before she could continue, an infuriated yell broke the serenity of the moment, her uncle coming from the back room looking extremely irritable.

"For the last time Namine," He began, his voice sounding more like a hiss than anything. "Get back to work! Your break has been over for 15 minutes now and no one's running the register!" She flinched, quickly getting up and gathering her things.

Demyx watched helplessly as Namine took her painting back from his hands. He shot a look to Namine, then the man, then Namine again.

"Namine?" That was her name? For some reason, Demyx hated the man immediately. He helped Namine pick up her things. He saw her many pieces of work.

Demyx smiled. "You're a wonderful artist." He whispered, making sure the man didn't hear.

Namine looked up at the boy in disbelief. No one had ever told her that, not really caring to glimpse at her pieces of work. They shrugged past her, but it usually didn't get her down. She knew that she wanted to have her pieces seen one day, maybe in the big art museum everyone went to in Town's Square...Either way she felt her hurried state relax as she took her things from him graciously.

"Thank you. An artist is always glad to hear her work is appreciated and liked." She said shyly before Vexen took a hold of her arm and placed her behind the counter and taking her supplies to replace it with the apron she should be wearing.

"Don't let that boy fool you Namine, you're art isn't anything to drool over." Vexen muttered nonchalantly, going to the kitchen and grabbing a dish rag. "Use your common sense." Namine frowned, tying the back of her "uniform" up. She mouthed an apologetic sorry to the boy and gave a hesitant smile.

Demyx stood there, motionless. How could he be so blind of her drawings? She was great and Demyx knew that man thought so too. He balled up his fists and walked over to the man. "Hey, you."

The man turned.

"You must have the artistic knowledge of a 2 year-old to think her drawings are crap. Wait, that'd be an insult to 2 year-olds." He snapped viciously.

Vexen sneered, flicking his white-blond hair back behind him.

"Please, don't bother yourself with such matters. They don't concern you." Namine was wide eyed. No one ever stood up to her uncle before either..."Namine, Marluxia is coming in soon. You'll have to do overtime tomorrow." With that, he was gone in the kitchen. She was silent for a moment before turning back to her savior.

"Thank you. But you really didn't have to do that."

  • Author

"You're welcome." Demyx smiled. "I know. I wanted to." Demyx blushed slightly. It was actually more of an outburst. but he would never tell Namine that. She was finally talking to him and he njoyed that very much.

He shook the blush on his face away, "That guy's a real jerk. Why do you work for him?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.

Namine chuckled, counting some of the cash registers contents as she spoke.

"He's my Uncle, I owe him a lot, same as my cousin. Marluxia." She grimaced a bit at the mention of him but it quickly disappeared. She was never unhappy for to long, not when she had someone to talk to. "By the way, may I ask who you are?"

  • Author

Demyx smiled toothily. She, the most beautiful girl he's ever seen, wanted to know his name..."My names Demyx. And by your uncle over there, I'm guessing your name is Namine! It's really pretty, you know! It fits you!" He smiled as he leaned over the counter, smiling with his chin on his palm.

Demyx frowned and paused. He smiled a little afterwards.

"So you're kinda like Cinderella, huh?"

Namine blinked. Demyx. She decided that the name fit him a lot and that she liked it. But she was more taken by surprise by his statement. Cinderella? Where'd he get that from? And...he thought her name was pretty? She couldn't help but blush and pretend to drop something so she could hide her bright smile. When she came up she had the same look of neutrality on her face.

"Where did you get that idea from...Demyx?"

  • Author

Damyx shrugged. "Well it's just you're pretty, work til you drop for an evil relative, and even with work clothes your look marvelous." He smiled, totally not believing he just said that. Maybe he'd meet her again someday. He'd bring his sitar too. Just to sing her a song.

Namine blushed brightly, working intensely on cleaning the counter top around her. She'd never been called pretty before, at least, not without it intended to be mocking. But it was nice to hear, especially from someone like Demyx.

"Th-thank you Demyx." She said bashfully, looking up at him through her lashes. "You're very kind you know."

  • Author

Demyx stood up straight and placed his hands behing his head. He blushed slightly. "You think so?" He chuckled to himself.

"OH! That's right. If you have a cellphone, can I call you up sometime? Maybe we can hang out!" he siggested, already taking out his mobile phone. He loved being with her....a lot, strangely.

Namine looked at him and nodded, reaching into her pockets to pull out a cell phone of her own.

"Here, type yours in and I'll type mi-"

"What's this Namine? Exchanging numbers?" The blond looked up to see Marluxia entering the shop, a haughty grin on his face. "Oh great..." She muttered, rolling her blue eyes slightly.

  • Author

Demyx sighed in disbelief. WHY NOW?!

Demyx began to walk out, already feeling a fight brewing. He stopped at A table, writing his number on a napkin.

He walked out, mouthing a silent goodbye. He'd see her again. He knew it.

'For Cinderella.' he wrote.

Namine took the napkin and giggled at the nickname. Cinderella huh....What a cool guy.

"I guess that makes him your Prince Charming." Marluxia teased, looking over her shoulder. Blushing furiously, Namine hid the napkin and took off her apron, shoving it in her cousins arms. That guy....As she ran upstairs Namine could help but smile. She'd definitely see him again.

(Lol, next day? Y/N?)
