Luxord sighed, readjusting his icepack.

 

"He has a broken rib and a couple of scratches and bruises. A high fever also considering it's snowing." He turned to Axel. "It's good you got him here on time, though."

 

Roxas finished talking to the receptionist. He walked up to Namine and said, "You can go in now. Room 009."

Namine nodded, gulping when she heard Demyx's injuries. But at least he wasn't dead. Right? That's what mattered most.

 

"Thanks Roxas, I'll head there now." She gave one small smile to all three of them before heading to the specified room. When she stopped at 009 she took a deep breath and opened the door hesitantly, bracing herself to see Demyx. Cautiosly she stepped in, straightening out her skirt.

 

"Demyx?"

Roxas witnissed Namine leave and turned to Axel he hugged him tightly and whispered. "I'm glad you're not in there..." Axel chuckled and held Roxas. "Yeah.."

 

Luxord rolled his eyes and looked away.

"Oh, get a room."

Demyx sat up in the bed. His bare chest was strapped with bandages. Demyx's red, hot face looked up at Namine and grinned.

"Hey, Cinderella..."

( I lol'd at Luxord's comment. Secretly, I think I love him xDDD)

 

Namine gave a weak smile, hurrying over to him with small tears in her eyes as she hugged him gently as to not hurt him. He was okay. It wasn't a lie or anything. He really was okay...

 

"Hey Dem'...I'm so glad you're okay." She whispered, burying her face in his shoulder.

Demyx flinched a bit at Namine's touch. He let out a small laugh and embraced her. "Yeah. I'm glad you're okay too. Even when I was blacking out, I really hoped you'd be okay... I hated myself when I found myself here. I couldn't protect you..."

 

Demyx's face fell. "Sorry."

 

(I love him too )

Namine quickly gave him a kiss on the cheek, looking at him with a somewhat stern look.

 

"Demyx, not every Prince Charming is perfect. But you are to me. Don't apologize for not stopping them." she gave one of her kind, magical smiles. "You won my heart because you didn't back down, because you protected me. That's what's important."

 

(That was some speech Namine -whistles-)

Demyx still frowned.

"Maybe I'm not good for you Namine. What good am I if I can't protect you from the thing most dangerous to you? I... I'm horrible."

He let go of Namine. "I'll love you. Always."

He kissed her forehead and whispered.

 

"I couldn't be your Prince Charming..."

Namine frowned, holding his shoulders lightly, as she pressed their foreheads together gently.

 

"You already are Demyx. And no one else will replace you. Ever." She said stubbornly, giving a small pout to prove her point. She'd rather die then lose Demyx.

Demyx was speechless. Namine's bright blue eyes were the cause. She was so beautiful and he felt so inferior.

Demyx kissed her. He didn't like her pout. "Fine." he whispered.

 

He hugged her tight, not caring if it hurt him.

Namine allowed herself to be hugged, smiling again. When they pulled away she sat on his hospital bed carefully, looking at him.

 

"So are he feeling okay?"

Demyx sighed. "Yeah. I'm fine. Just got a bit of a headache and I can't move my chest much. Don't worry though."

 

He stared outside his window. The combination of water and beauty into one. The symbol of new beginnings and fresh starts. Snow.

 

Demyx laughed and blushed. He kissed Namine's hand and smiled. "I love you..."

(Oh wow, just listened to Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars, and it really fits Demyx and Namine!)

 

"I love you to Demyx." Namine admitted, a slight blush on her cheeks as Demyx kissed her hand, making her feel like a princess like the ones she had made impossible fairy-tales of. "And I'm glad you're okay." she said, giggling. Then she remembered Vexen. "Hey...do you think Axel or Roxas or Luxord would mind me staying over their house for a while. I don't think I should go back to my uncle just yet..."

(LOL you're right! )

 

Demyx became wide eyed. "Uhm I..." Demy'x house was already carrying Luxord and Axel...

 

"You can stay at my house if you want to. Our house is too big for just me and my brother."

 

Demyx turned to see Cloud in the doorway. "Hey! You'd do that?"

Cloud nodded. "You won't have to go back to your uncle. We'll take care of you. We'll even go shopping tomorrow. Alright?"

(firetruck YEAH CLOUD )

 

Namine turned around and saw Cloud in the doorway. She had completely forgotten he was there, that he had taken them there. She blinked in disbelief, unable to comprehend his words as much as she'd like.

 

"Y-You...you really would?" She asked slowly, not believing her own ears.

Roxas and Cloud nodded in unison. "We would!" They smiled and Roxas pulled out Axel into the room. Luxord followed. "We'll help with the money too." They suggested.

 

Demyx smiled at his friends. "Thanks guys. A lot." He turned to Namine. "My friends are your friends now."

Namine gave a big smile, feeling her heart skip a few beats. People cared. They cared about her more specifically.

 

"I...thank you. Everybody."

Everyone smiled at Namine. "You're welcome!" Roxas said. Demyx hugged Namine's waist and laughed. Don't worry. I'll be out of here soon so you can just hang out with Cloud and Roxas in the meantime. Roxas, introduce her to Kairi when you can!"

Namine smiled, placing her hands on Demyx's, happy to be held close. She took one look at everyone else and knew that she would be okay. They'd keep her safe. The wouldn't leave her.

Roxas smiled. "Right."

He pulled Namine away from Demyx and Cloud followed. "We need to get you adjusted to your new home, Namine. I'm sure you'll like it there. Oh, and sorry we had to leave. Can't leave Zack by himself for too long." Cloud said.

 

"Bye Dem!" They both called from the hallway.

Namine hesitated, giving a final glance at Demyx before waving.

 

"See ya' Prince Charming~" She teased, following after the two gently, trailing behind them. It was a few moments before she spoke up again to the two of them. "Again, thank you guys. This means a lot to me."

Demyx blushed. He heard swooning sound come from Luxord and Axel.

 

"SHUTTUP!!!'

"Yeah. No problem, Namine. If that creep ever comes looking for ya, we'll knock him dead, right Cloud?!" Roxas asked, sticking a fist in the air.

"Don't get your hopes up, Squirt. If we do have to fight, you won't be involved." Cloud said, messing with Roxas' hair.

"Jerkwad. You want all the action." Roxas said, pouting. Cloud just laughed.

Namine giggled at the conversation that was going on between the two, appreciating how brave they were. She'd like to have an older sibling like that who actually wanted to protect her.

 

"You guys..." She giggled. "You guys are to nice."

Roxas raised an eyebrow. "It's only because you have us in our good moods. Trust me, sometimes you cant stand it when you have someone Banting you all the time like a sickly mother."

Cloud smiled and hit Roxas upside the head. "Oh shut up." he turned to Namine. "Demyx tells me you're an artist, Namine."

Namine giggled as they quarreled, watching how comfortable they were around each other. Then here attention was drawn away by Cloud, bringing up her artistic interest. She blushed lightly, fumbling with her fingers shyly.

 

"Y-yeah, but I'm not that good. You know how Dem' exaggerates a bit." she admitted shyly, giving a small giggle.

Cloud smiled. "Yeah. I figured. But he said he fell in love with your drawings when he first saw the one with the girl and the cliff. I think it was that one. Anyway, you should show us some of your drawings on day!"

 

"Like the day of our concert!" Roxas suggested.
