This is the sequel to A Perfect World

Introduction

Ugh. Pain shot throughout Tao's body in pulses, each wave of pain more excruciating. He opens his eyes to find himself chained to a wall, in a room with absolutely no light. Am I back in prison? Please no. Tao tugs at the chain on his right arm, hoping to break it. Instead of loosening up, the chain gets tighter. I should be able to break this! Tao closes his eyes in concentration, hoping that his powers will give him the strength to break free. But Tao doesn't feel anything when he concentrates. Wait, they couldn't have taken away my powers. Tao shuts his eyes close, and tries to force himself into a state of deep concentration, waiting for his powers to overflow him. No such thing happens. His powers somehow have been sapped.

Tao hangs his head and defeat, and gives up his struggle for freedom. Suddenly, a voice cuts clear throughout the room, as if the person was speaking on a loudspeaker. "Subject #1111, unable to escape. Powers successfully absorbed." After that brief statement, bright lights flicker on in the room, and Tao is momentarily blinded by them. When he regains his site, he sees two men in bright white lab coats writing on a clipboard, and a man in a yellow Peacekeeper robe standing on the outside of the room, peering through a large glass window. Tao immediately recognizes the man as the person he saw before he had blacked out. But how long ago had he fallen unconscious?

"Where am I?", Tao shouts directly at the men. One of the scientists looks up from the clipboard, pushing up his glasses simultaneously. "You are in our research lab, of course." The scientist, who appeared to be in his 30s, had short black hair which was cut military style, and fair skin. Tao notices that the man standing next to him looks identical to him. He then turns his attention on the tall Peacekeeper peering at him with interest. "Research lab?", Tao responds. "What the hell am I doing here? Let me out!". The two scientists don't respond, they continue to take notes. Instead, the Peacekeeper decides to speak. "We are doing research on people like you. We are analyzing exactly how you got here." The Peacekeeper's voice is deep and monotone, but with a tone of interest in it too. Tao starts to laugh. "You want to know how I got here? Maybe you should've asked me that before throwing me in a firetrucking prison. Who the hell is your leader? I really want to know what nutjob told you all to do this crap." Tao was proud. None of the men had a response.

Instead, a man in a black suit joins the group of men outside of the room. The man has dark, straight hair that fell to his shoulders. His eyes are a curious shade of gray, and his face holds a slightly arrogant tone. "I am the leader of this organization, Tao Yuzi", he says quietly.

Tao peers at the man, and recognizes his facial features almost instantly, and his jaw drops. "Dad?"

Chapter 1: Explain

"Do you want to know why you are here, son? Why you were placed in a prison, why you are being tested?". Tao's dad peers at Tao with interest through the window. Tao nods, still shocked that his dad is standing right outside of his room, talking to him. How long had it been since he had seen his father?.....

"Where are you going papa?", a young Tao cries sadly as he holds onto his dad's jacket. His dad had a suitcase in his right hand, and his left hand was about to turn the doorknob on the front door. Tao's dad places the suitcase on the ground and turns around to face his son. "Daddy needs to go Tao. Daddy has found a better life, somewhere else." Tao tugs on his dad's jacket harder. "Please don't leave us Papa! We love you!". Tao's dad gently removes Tao's hand from his jacket, picks up his suitcase, and walks out the door, never to turn back....

"Before you 'explain' everything, I want you to tell me this", Tao says sharply, "Why did you leave?". A single tear trickles from his left eye all the way down to his cheek. Tao's dad places an inquisitive look on his face before answering. "I needed to learn more, Tao. Learn more about the world. Our world. We are doing research on why the portals appeared in our dimension, and why people were being transported here. The scientists on our world, including myself, discovered that an unknown person had obtained strange powers from a box that appeared to him. We captured this person, and found out that his very presence was causing the fabrics of space and time to corrode. So we took him outside of our dimension, and brought him to Earth, and kept him locked up underground where he wouldn't be able to cause damage to Earth. However, the portals still appeared in our dimension, dragging others into it, and onto Earth. We didn't want to take chances, so everybody from this dimension that appeared on Earth got locked up, just in case they had strange powers. The people with powers, we extracted some DNA from them, and planted it into our newly founded police force, the Peacekeepers. The Peacekeepers were created to obtain order on Earth, so that we may keep this world and our world perfect."

"There is more to this..", Tao growls. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. His father..he was so warped now. "Your little Peacekeepers make people like me..people who have powers fight in an arena to the death. Did you know about this?". Tao's dad doesn't respond. "And to think that my own father is behind this whole scheme...it makes me sick to my stomach." The man in the yellow Peacekeeper robe points a finger menacingly at Tao. "Watch your tongue..". Tao's dad waves him down though. "Don't you see Tao?! We are trying to make the world perfect! All worlds! Once we deal with the super power problem, we will move on to eradicating crime, eradicating sickness, eradicating anything that makes the worlds impure!". Tao's dad eyes widen with excitement. Tao just shakes his head in disappointment. "You must be crazy if you think you can do that." Suddenly, Tao feels a rush of power erupt inside of him. His powers were returning to him. The man in the yellow starts to say something, but again, Tao's dad waves him down. "It's okay, Nero. He is just confused. Just confused."

Suddenly, the glass breaks, and the people outside the room are showered with shards. Tao breaks his chains off with ease, now feeling his powers start to climb. "You guys did a poor job neutralizing my powers", he sneers. Tao's dad gets up from the ground, knocked down by the force of the window, and looks at Tao angrily. "You think you are a rebel. But we will crush you. We will keep peace at all costs." Tao smirks. "You do that." And with that, the roof above the people outside the room collapses on them.

A cloud of dust puffs all around the area, and Tao decides that he needs to find a way out quickly, before more Peacekeepers come. "I wonder..", he mutters to himself. He smirks again, and in an instant, he jumps up off his feet. and flies through the back wall out of the building.

Chapter 2: Brawl

The wind blows Tao's hair as he flies away from the building he was just in. He couldn't believe he was actually flying! He looks down and sees buildings as small as his foot. I actually got away!. Tao does a few twirls and spins in the air, and then feels something hit his face, and feels his jaw crack. Tao's head snaps back from the impact, and he sees Nero suddenly materialize mid-air in front of him.

Blood seeps from the side of Tao's mouth as he begins to fall slowly from the sky. Damn it! He must be able to teleport. Nero flies at Tao and grabs his face. He then proceeds to fall towards the ground as well, picking up speed by the seconds. Tao tries to struggle away from his grip, realizing what Nero was doing. But Nero clamps tight onto his face as they both head for a suicide dive straight to the ground.

Tao swings his fist and it connects to the side of Nero's head, forcing him to loosen up his grip. They were losing altitude fast. Panicking, Tao punches him in the head again, making Nero completely let go of his face. He then grabs Nero by the neck, and throws him his hardest towards the ground.

Nero falls towards the ground, apparently done for. Tao tiredly stops falling, and begins to hover slowly in mid air. He was about 2 minutes away from falling into a skyscraper. "Phew", Tao sighs. Then, Nero materializes above him, and gives him a roundhouse kick to the side of the head.

Tao falls and flies into the skyscraper, busting through the other side. His arm broke from the impact. Tao slowly starts to fall towards the city, pain shooting throughout his arm and through his body. Damn it. Nero wasn't in sight. Tao lands back-first onto a main street, creating a small crater. Cars swerved and swiveled to avoid falling into the crater, and the drivers gaped at what they just saw. A boy falling from the sky.

Rubble covers the lower half of Tao's body. I can't move. I can't move at all. Nero then appears at the top of the crater, peering down at Tao victoriously. "Your finished", he sneers. Tao started to agree. There was no way he could defeat this guy. Trapped under a pile of rubble with a broken arm was just bad luck. Nero jumps down into the crater with a smirk on his face, and walks to Tao's defeated body. "This is for Roque you bastard." Nero's boot successfully stomps hard on Tao's face, breaking his nose. Blood gushes everywhere, and it covers Tao's face and drips down to the ground. "And this is for-". Nero had raised his boot to stomp on Tao's face again, but Tao grabs his foot before he could do it. "This is for everything, you son of a bitch." Tao clamps hard on Nero's foot, and a loud crack could be heard. Broken. Nero falls to the ground, clutching his foot and writhing in pain.

"Damn it damn it damn it!", Nero screams in pain. Tao, with his good arm, manages to pull himself free from the rubble. Standing to his feet weakly, Tao coughs from the dust in the air as he stumbles over to Nero, still clutching his broken foot. "So you thought I had lost, huh?". Tao kicks Nero in his right thigh, snapping his femur. Nero squeals in pain. "I never lose." Tao kicks Nero in his broken foot's ankle, causing it to snap. Nero starts to cry, the pain being outrageously unbearable. Tao peers down at him, with a face full of hatred. "This is for my mom." He grabs Nero with his good arm by the neck and lifts him up, slowly strangling him. Nero coughs and sputters to try to get air, but Tao holds onto his neck relentlessly.

He then slams Nero back into the ground onto a medium sized rock, damaging his spinal cord. Nero starts to twitch on the ground, and he begins to foam at the mouth. Tao bends down and whispers into Nero's ear. "And this..this for making the worst decision of your life, by working for my dad." He grabs Nero by the neck again, lifts him up, and slams him to the ground, head first. Nero stopped moving.

Chapter 3: Rescue

Soon after Nero is killed, Tao falls to the ground, overwhelmed by pain and fatigue. His sight begins to haze up as he lies still, looking towards the sky.

Many people crowded around the crater and peered down, and were surprised to see a dead man and a halfway dead boy. But nobody dares to go down to help. "Crap...not again", Tao whispers to himself as he slowly slips out of consciousness...

The mysterious chant ended, and Tao's eyes fluster open from sleep. He is sweating profoundly, and a towel covers his forehead. He is in a small, comfy room, lying down in a bed with several sheets wrapped around him. Oh great, I'm in some mysterious place again. Tao tries to get out of bed, but winces in pain. His arm is in a sling, and his body is still sore. "Shit", he mutters. A door to his right opens, and a kind-faced girl walks in. The girl is very pretty, with long hair that falls to her waist, large brown eyes, and fair skin. "I'm glad you are awake", the girl smiles.

Tao takes a good look at her before replying. "Yeah..I'm glad I'm awake too. But where exactly am I?". "Far away from those Peacekeepers. We are in the woods", the girl replies.

"Are you the one that saved me?", Tao asks. The girl shakes her head. "No, it was my husband who saved you. He was out in town when he saw you lying unconscious, and he brought you back here. He realized that you were special." Tao reflects on this. Realized I was special huh..hmmm. And this girl seems pretty young to be married. I don't know what is going on, but I'm just going to follow with these people for a while, or at least until I get some answers.

"Well, as much as I am indebted to you both for saving me, I must get going", Tao says as he struggles to get out of bed. The girl places a gently hand on him and smiles. "No, you can't go yet. Your wounds have not yet healed. You will surely get hurt if you leave no." Tao grunts. "Look. I can't be pinned to this area. I am putting both you and your husband in danger, because they are after me." The girl smiles again. "They cannot find you out here. Please believe me, and please rest."

Reluctantly, Tao lays back down on his bed. The girl turns to the end of the room, and turns on a T.V. that is sitting on a dresser. She then cuts off the light and walks out. Tao decides to watch the news...

"Yesterday, something very strange happened. A boy has escaped from Peacekeeper authorities, and has murdered a Peacekeeper captain. This boy is to be considered highly dangerous, any sight of him should be reported. He is undesirable, and if he is turned in, the person who turns him in will be given a large reward", says the newscaster. A picture of Tao appears on the screen, along with the Peacekeeper hotline under it.

"Damn it", Tao mutters. It would be a matter of time until the Peacekeepers tracked him down. Unless the girl wasn't lying when she said they wouldn't find him out here. Hopefully, she was being truthful.

"How did all of this happen anyways?", Tao asks himself. He started to reflect on that weird song he had heard in his dream. It made absolutely no sense, but it make perfect sense to him at the same time. Was it somehow tied to his powers, and the events that have been happening?

Tao shrugs and closes his eyes, deciding to take another nap. I guess I can stay here for a little while..

Chapter 4: Husband

You are done, Tao Yuzi. You are done.

A voice in Tao's dream spoke these words. Tao wakes up, sweating and shaking. That was the second time in a row that he had an odd dream like that. Wiping the sweat off of his forehead with his hands, Tao swings his legs over the edge of the bed and puts his shoes on. He had to get out of this place, something was wrong about it.

He moves his newly healed arm around, glad that it has been mended. Tao lifts himself up from the bed, still stiff and sore, and tries to make his way quietly to the front door. He tiptoes out of the guest room, peering around the corner to see if the girl was waiting for him. The coast is clear. Tao emerges from the room, and sees the front door straight ahead. He quickens his pace and reaches the door, and opens it. The girl is standing on the porch right outside the door with a gun pointing directly at Tao's face.

"Where do you think you are going?", she asks inquisitively. Tao puts his hands up in the air and replies shakily, "I'm just going to leave now. I thank you for helping me re-cooperate, but I really must go." The girl shakes her head, still pointing the gun threateningly at Tao's face. "You just turn back around and sit down." Tao does exactly what he is told, and he turns around and sits down on a coach in the living room. The girl sits on a chair on the opposite side of the coach, still pointing the gun at him. Tao noticed that her face is wet. She had been crying about something.

Taking a moment to glance away from the gun, Tao spots a wedding photo sitting on the coffee table right in front of him. The girl, looking the same as she when Tao first saw her, is in a peach-colored bridal dress, with her hair falling down in curls to her back. Tao glances over and sees the groom, and he then realized why the girl was pointing a gun at him.

"Jessica..", Tao mutters to himself. Back when he was in prison, his old friend, Jake Taylor, told him that he had a wife, who had escaped from the Peacekeepers when he was captured. This must be his wife... Jessica smirks when she sees Tao expression when he looks at the photo. "Yeah. I'm Jessica. His wife." Her smirk changed quickly into a look of pure hatred. "Why'd you kill him?", she says as she chokes on her tears.

Tao looks down at the wood floor. "I was forced to. We were put in a cage, and forced to fight. I tried to strategize with him, but he went crazy and attack me. So I defended myself and killed him..". A big lump develops in Tao's throat. Was it a lump of guilt? A lump of shame?

Jessica drops the gun and places both of her hands on her face, erupting in tears. "Go", she cries. "Just go!". Tao gets up from the couch, giving Jessica one last glance, and then walks out of the front door.

The house is surrounded by a mass of trees and shrubbery. She wasn't lying when she said they were deep in the woods. Tao sees a trail that leads from the house, and he decides to take it. Maybe it will lead to a main road. Why did she save me if she knew I killed Jake?, Tao thinks as he heads down the trail.

_____________________________________________________________

Jessica, still crying, pulls out a piece of paper, folded neatly, from her pocket. It read this:

Dear Jessica,

If you are reading this, I am about to die, or I am already did. Please do not grieve. It is my fault we arrived here, so I should be punished. And please don't do anything rash when you get this letter. All I want for you, is to be safe.

I know how the Peacekeepers are going to kill me. I recently made a friend, Tao Yuzi. He is one of the best friends I've ever had, even though I've only known him for a month. But the Peacekeepers are going to use him to kill me. If you ever see him, please understand that it isn't his fault I am dead. Forgive and forget.

Lastly, I want you to know that I will always love you, even when I'm not here anymore. I want to ask you to please never forget me, because even though I'll be in the afterlife, I will never forget you. You will forever be apart of my heart, and I am proud to call you my life.

Love you,

Jake Taylor

A single tear drop falls and lands onto the letter where Jake's signature is placed.

Chapter 5:In the Rain

Big, gray clouds begin to cover the sky, blocking the warm sunlight.Tao, finally making it to a main road, stands on the side of it, pointing his thumb out to cars passing by. A cold wind begins to blow, giving Tao the shivers. But he still continues to wave his thumbs at the cars.

Drops of rain begin fall, hitting the pavement in splatters. Without a jacket nor umbrella, Tao slowly begins to get soaking wet. After one last wave of his thumb, he gives up and decides to walk. He couldn't fly in this weather, and of course nobody would want to give an escaped convict a ride somewhere.

While walking on the side of the road, Tao sees a wet newspaper, apparently tossed out of someone's window. Knowing that if he picked it up, the paper would rip, Tao just peers down at the paper as rain hits it. A mugshot of him is on the front page, along with the words "#1 Most Dangerous Person". Tao turns his attention to the cars passing by, and sees a child looking out the window at him. The kid stares into Tao's eyes as his car passes by, and he tugs on his mothers shoulder, pointing at Tao. "That's the evil man, mommy. That's the evil man", the kid's lips read.

Tao keeps walking. Eventually, he reaches a small town. A sign read "Welcome to River Valley. Pop. 4,200." Tao walks into town, looking around for a shelter away from the rain. The buildings in the town have a old look to them, as if they were built a long time ago. Turning a corner on the sidewalk in town, Tao sees a cafe. Knowing that it would be risky going in there, Tao had second thoughts about entering. But his stomach was growling, and the rain is still falling, so he walks in.

The cafe is small, and only about 15 people were inside. Tao takes a seat by the window, since that's where the heater was placed. A blonde waitress approaches him, chewing gum, and asks would he like something to eat, and Tao nods. The waitress hands him and menu and walks out. Tao opens it and is bedazzled by the items on it. "What the hell is a hamburger?", Tao mutters to himself. Earth food seemed very odd.

The waitress returns and asks him had he decided on his meal. "Um..", Tao replies. "I guess I will have the ham-burger and the French fries?". The waitress writes his order down and picks up his menu. "What would you like on your hamburger, sir?". Tao scratches his head, stumped. He wasn't familiar with toppings on Earth. "Umm..", he mutters, "What usually comes on a 'ham-burger'?". The waitress pops her gum and looks at Tao like he was the stupidest man she had ever seen. "I'll tell the cooks everything", she says with a slightly sarcastic tone, and walks away.

Tao places his face in his hands and looks out of the window. Rain continues to pour outside. At least he was inside, in a nice, cozy cafe. He couldn't stay long though. 5 minutes later, the waitress returns with a hamburger and fries on the plate. The hamburger looks almost burnt, and is smothered in ketchup, mustard, and cheese. The fries were a golden brown, overloaded with seasoning salt. Tao thanks the waitress and begins to eat. First, he takes a bite of the hamburger, and his taste buds jump for joy. It was delicious, but with strong flavors. He polishes off his burger with ease, and then proceeds to dig into his fries. He puts a single fry in his mouth and immediately spits it back out. It tasted disgusting to him, almost sour.

He waves for the waitress to pick up his plate, and she comes over. She picks up the plate and leaves a bill on the table. Tao looks at the bill and is bamboozled. There were several numbers on it that he understood, but there was one symbol that confused the hell out of him. Tao waves the waitress over again, and points at the symbol. "What sort of symbol is this?", he asks. The waitress looked like she was about to slap him. "Excuse me?!", she says. Tao repeats. "That...is a dollar sign." "...Dollar?", Tao mutters to himself. The waitress turns away from him, muttering insults to herself, and turns on the TV just overhead.

The news is on, and a picture of Tao is on the screen, with the same words that he saw before, "#1 Most Dangerous Person." The waitress' jaw drops, and she turns around and looks at Tao, and then screams. Tao knew immediately that he had to get out. Jumping up from his seat, he pushes her out of his way and rushes out of the door.

He runs down the street, not caring to look back. The sounds of sirens broke the silence of the town, and Tao knew that Peacekeepers had spotted him. What to do, what to do?!. It was still raining hard, and thunder begins erupt from the clouds. Out of the corner of his eye, Tao sees a Peacekeeper vehicle on the side of him. He was going to get caught. I have to take the risk. Tao starts to run faster, picking up velocity, and then he leaps from the ground, taking off flying into the stormy sky.

Chapter 6: Stranded

Tao, flying against the wind of the storm, and being battered by the raindrops, begins to tire. Flying for 3 hours straight in a storm has drained most of his energy, so he decides to land in the outskirts of a town near a desert. Instead of having a smooth landing like he predicted, Tao lands in a pile of sand, sending it flying in the direction the storm winds are blowing. A miniature tornado begins to form behind Tao, but he pays no attention. It is just a little tyke tornado.

Needing shelter from the severe storm that is getting worse, Tao decides to walk into town, crossing his fingers and hoping that it was an abandoned town.

Walking through the town square, Tao realizes that his wish had come true. He was in a Ghost Town, with plenty of shelter. Houses, apartment buildings, and business had all been abandoned. Did the people leave because of the severe storms? Tao strolls through town until he finds a decent shelter. An abandoned 11 story business building. "Sweet", Tao mutters to himself, and he walks to the building entrance. He tugs on the glass panel front door, expecting it to be locked, but surprisingly it wasn't. Tao smirks as he walks into the building, satisfied that he didn't have to break the door down. The lobby of the building is vast, littered with furniture, vending machines, and televisions. After he locks the door behind him, Tao lays down on a coach close to the door and grabs a remote off of the coffee table in front of it. When he grabs it, Tao feels a sticky note attached to the back of the remote.

Tao, curious, grabs the sticky note off of the remote and reads it. Tao Yuzi, turn to channel 7 at precisely 10 p.m. Tao looks at the clock on the wall. It is 9:59. "What the hell...do they know where I am?", Tao asks himself as he presses the power button on the T.V. The television flickers on, and a small number 7 shows up on the lefthand side of the screen. Tao was right on time.

It is what seemed to be another newscast. A female reporter, wearing a rain jacket is standing in the storm with a blonde, straight haired Peacekeeper in a light green robe wearing no form of protection from the storm. The female reports holds the mic to her face and directs her attention to the Peacekeeper. "Officer, what is with this odd storm?". The Peacekeepers doesn't even speak into the mic, but his voice cuts through crystal clear over the noise of the storm. "We are fishing Public Enemy #1 out. And we have found him." The storm on begins to clear on the newscast, and Tao squints. It appears that the newscast is being broadcasted in the exact town he was in.

"Damn", Tao mutters to himself. How did they find him so quickly, so easily? In a matter of seconds after he gets up from the coach, Peacekeepers appear outside of the door, trying their hardest to get it open. Tao sticks his right middle finger at them and runs towards the elevator, and slams his hand on the "Up" button. One of the Peacekeepers takes out a gun and shoots the lock on the door and boots it open. The elevator door swings open right after. Tao runs into the elevator and slams his hand on the Penthouse button as the Peacekeepers from outside flood the building. Before the elevator door closes, the Peacekeeper that broke open the front door shoots a bullet into the elevator, hitting Tao in the shoulder. The elevator doors close, and Tao is slowly lifted to the penthouse. Clutching his left shoulder, Tao notices that he is losing a lot of blood.

The elevator finally makes it to the penthouse of the building, and Tao stumbles out, still clutching his heavily wounded shoulder. Rain begins to pour on him again, and he drops to his knees, overwhelmed with pain. The Peacekeeper he saw on the news earlier suddenly materializes, from what it looks like to Tao, the rain itself. The Peacekeepers cocks his head and studies Tao. "Game over", he says menacingly. And then, something weird happened. For just one second, the whole area around Tao literally twitched, and a loud static noise filled his ears. The Peacekeeper disappears, and then re-appears and does the exact same thing he did less than 10 seconds ago.

Chapter 7: The Eye of the Storm

"They call me Cheimon", the Peacekeeper yells at Tao. "Prepare for your death." Tao, not knowing how to react to what he just witnessed, clenches his fists and looks at the man. "Why?", Tao growls as he trembles with rage, "Why are you all trying to kill me?".

Cheimon gives Tao an amused look. "It's simple, Tao Yuzi. You do not belong here. You did not follow our rules, so now you die." His words are cold, and so is tone. "Even if you kill me, other people will rise. They will defeat you all if I don't." Cheimon sticks one finger up in the air and waves it, and then melts into the rain puddle he was standing in. Tao knows what is about to happen.

Deciding that roof wasn't a good battlefield, Tao jumps into the air and attempts to fly off, but a hand clenches his ankles before he goes into flight, and he is slammed into the wet cement. His wounded arm begins to pour more blood, and he clenches it again, grinding his teeth in agony.I don't have too much time left. I have to beat this guy fast.

Cheimon emerges from a puddle of water, smirking. "You cannot defeat me. You are in my element, as you can see. Stand down now and I might grant you a quick death." Tao, propping himself up on one knee, begins to laugh. "Do you seriously think I'm going to give up to you?", Tao laughs. Cheimon's mouth twitches. "As you wish..", he mutters silently, and he melts back into the puddle.

Tao gets himself up on both legs and stands up, smiling. I know exactly what to do. He walks into the middle of a puddle on the roof and stands with his hands on his hips, waiting. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see a hand starting to form in the puddle. Closing his eyes, Tao uses his strength to literally stomp a hole in the roof where the puddle is. The piece of roof falls, and so does Tao and Cheimon. Both of them landing on the floor of the office under the roof hard. Rain pours in from the hole. Tao, his shoulder completely blazing in pain, gets up from his fall and limps over to a dazed Cheimon. "Not in our element anymore, are we?", Tao sneers as he grabs Cheimon by the neck off of the ground. Cheimon struggles and kicks, but Tao holds onto him tight. "What made you think you could beat me?", Tao says as he begins to laugh.

Cheimon coughs and sputters. "You....you are crazy", he manages to say. "Crazy, you say?". Tao throws Cheimon into a file cabinet across the room. Papers of all sorts fall onto Cheimon. "Hahahahahaa. Crazy." Tao runs over and grabs Cheimon again, this time by the head. Dragging him towards the hole in the roof, where the rain is still falling. Placing Cheimon in the puddle of water, Tao walks over and grabs a light that is plugged in on one of the office desks and tosses it, still plugged in, into the puddle. Cheimon screeches in pain as he is electrocuted. Tao then pulls the plug from the light and walks over to a barely breathing Cheimon. "Go tell your boss and all of your other fellow Peacekeepers not to firetruck with me." Tao grabs Cheimon by his uniform and tosses him out of the office window.

Chapter 8: The Show Starts

Tao, now being overwhelmed with fatigue, falls to the ground and closes his eyes. Tiredness, soreness, and pain each strike him simultaneously. It won't be long until the other Peacekeepers come up. He needed to get out of the building fast.

Tao stumbles up to his feet and starts to limp towards the broken window. Outside, the storm has ceased. The elevator in the room dings, and Tao knew that the Peacekeepers were in it, so he jumps from the window and takes flight into the night sky.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"This is unacceptable!". Tao's dad slams his hand on the table, knocking over his glass of white wine. Him and two other men are in a conference room. A Peacekeeper in a dark blue uniform sits on the left side of the table, Cheimon, patched up with bandaids and with a neck brace, sits on the right side of the table, while Tao's dad, clothed in a black Peacekeeper uniform, sits at the head of the table.

Cheimon decides to speak. "Kuroi, he is just too powerful. We need to send out plan B, or we will all be dead within the month!". Kuroi shakes his head. "We cannot bring out plan B. That is our last resort. However, experiment J needs to be tested. I heard he is more powerful than ever. What do you think, Nival?". The man in the blue uniform purses his lips. "I think experiment J is the best way to go, sir."

Kuroi smiles. "Then it is decided. A matter of fact, let us see experiment J for ourselves before we send him in there." He snaps his fingers at a Peacekeeper guarding the door. The Peacekeeper, apparently dazed, jumps up at the sound of the snap and opens the door. A scientist walks into the room with a man that has a hood over his head. "Gentlemen", the scientist says as he gives a bow. "It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to our second ultimate weapon, Agent J." The scientist pulls off the hood of the man's head and reveals his face. Cheimon's jaw drops, and so does Nival's.

Standing before them is Jake Taylor. Alive. "Wha-what? He's supposed to be dead!", Cheimon screeches and he points a shaky finger at Jake. The scientist smirks at Cheimon's reaction. "He is dead, technically. I just decided to play Dr. Frankenstein, and I gave him life." The scientist pauses at looks at Kuroi. "I used the method we are using on him, sir." Kuroi nods and starts to speak. "Now that we have all we need to take him down, we need to hurry up and get this accomplished. The show must go on. Time is of the essence. I expect Tao dead by the end of the week, meeting dismissed."

Chapter 9: Encore

Tao lands in a field of grass, and decides to sit down. The field reminded him of something. Memories start to flash in his head. A man in a white uniform rides into the field from distance on a hoverbike. I wave at the man, thinking he is a comrade. The man gets off of his bike and attacks me, and knocks me unconscious...

Tao's flashback is interrupted by the sound of footsteps slowly crushing the grass behind him. The smell of kerosene and smoke hits his nose immediately, and Tao places his hands in his face, digging his fingernails into the flesh of his cheeks. "You are here. Hahahahahahahahaha. I really am going crazy." Jake Taylor kneels besides Tao and puts his hand on his shoulders. "Tao. Listen to me. You have to come with me, you aren't well."

Tao hits Jake's hand off of his shoulder and begins to yell in an angry tone. "Shut the hell up! I know why you are here. Don't lie to me." Tao points his index finger menacingly at Jake, still faced forward. "Tao, you don't know what's going-". Jake's speech is interrupted by a punch in the face. Tao swings his fist, and it connects cleanly with Jake's jaw. Jake falls to the ground, gripping his face, while Tao stands up and looks down at Jake, his eyes now showing off a glint of purple. "You don't know what I've been through!", Tao screams. "They're trying to kill me. All of them. Everybody. Even you. I've lost everything, I'm not going to lose my life!". Tears start to fall from Tao's face onto the grass.

Jake picks himself up off of the ground and gives Tao a sympathetic look. "Tao, if you aren't going to come with me, I'll have to take you by force." Tao looks at Jake amusingly and starts to cackle, his eyes letting off more purple light. "You aren't going to take me. I'm going to kill you, like I did before. Die!". Tao attempts to punch Jake in the face again, but Jake is ready this time. Jake grabs Tao's arm, avoiding the punch, and then swings him to the ground. "It's taking over you! Don't let it take over you!". Tao, screaming in pain, gets up from the ground and pounces on Jake. Both of them fall to the ground, and begin to punch each other, rolling across the field.

Tao gains the upper hand and pins Jake to his back, and punches him in the face. A tooth flies from his mouth, and a trickle of blood falls from his upper lip. Jake breaks free of Tao's grip, and then flips him to his back. He punches Tao in the face continually, his eyes starting to water up. Tao screams in agony and rage with each hit to the face. By the time Jake stops punching him, Tao's left eye completely swells up and turns black, and begins to bleed from the corners. His nose erupts with blood as well. Jake unpins Tao from the ground and gets up to his feet, wiping the tears from his eyes. "Why can't you listen to me Tao?!", he screams. Tao, trembling in pain, utters back "You-you are t-tr-trying to kill me."

"No! No! Come to your senses, Tao!". More tears begin to fall from Jake's eyes. It was deeply hurting him to see his friend like this. "I'll kill you", Tao mutters as he struggles to his feet. Jake screams in rage and punches him in the face again, making him fall hard back to the ground. He then picks Tao up by his collar and holds him up to the sky. Tao tries to kick his way free, but Jake keeps a firm grip on him. "Let me go!", Tao starts to yell. Jake punches him in the face again, and Tao's head goes limp, and he falls silent. Jake gently puts Tao on the ground, still crying, and then drops to his knees, holding his face in his hands. Tao starts to twitch, and his eyes flutter back open. Then, it happened again. The area around Tao begins to twitch, and suddenly, Tao is placed in the predicament he was in less then 20 seconds ago. "Let me go!", Tao starts to yell. Jake tries to punch him in the face, but this time, Tao kicks him in the chest before he could do so. Jake drops Tao the ground and grips his chest. Tao had landed a gripping blow to where his lungs where.

"I'm going to kill you. But wait, you are already dead. Hahahaha!", Tao says as he tries to pick himself up from the ground. Jake closes his eyes and breathes. "This is it, Tao." Tao begins to get angry again. "Don't you dare tell me this is it, you arrogant son of a-". Tao is cut off by a fireball impaling his chest, and then coming out through his back. Tao looks down at the whole in his chest and begins to cackle. Jake turns away and places his face in his hands again. "Haha. I guess I'm dead." Tao's vision begins to get hazy. He struggles to remains standing, but realizes that the battle is over. He falls to the ground, his body positioned directly under the moon.

"Haha. This is how it's going to end, huh." The purple glow in Tao's eyes fade away. Tao looks at the moon and admires its majesty. "That moon is so beautiful, isn't it?", he says to himself. "That moon. This world. It's so...perfect." His eyes then become empty, his head becomes limp and rolls to its side.

"Reality test completed!", a computerized voice says.
