The Beginning

In a long-ago war, humankind, in its hubris, set off a devastating ecological disaster. Thriving industrial societies have been swallowed up and the Earth is slowly submerging beneath the expanding Sea of Corruption, an enormous toxic forest filled with mutant fungi that release a miasma of poisonous spores into the air.

 

Two people in their quest to create peace among empires fighting over the world's remaining precious natural resources, will they be able to interpret the Ohmus' urgent warning about the southern forest? And what of the war which rages all around them?

Nausicaa said,"No I will tell you everything you want to know about me and about this town." and she sat on the ground. She took out her note book and started to drawing again. This time she contrasted on the arms and the legs of the boy and girl she was drawing. She looked up to Chase and said"Hey you can ask why but I knew you were coming." She closed her eyes and laid on the ground.

Chase had a startled look on his face. Nausicaa...knew he was coming? But how was that possible? Questions were flying around in his mind and they were giving him a head ache. "Could you please explain HOW you knew I was coming? I mean... we just met." he said, trying to get a grasp of the idea

Nausicaa looked up."I am not like the others you see around you. I can tell when something new is coming to town." she said. She stood up and looked at him. She turned around took out her sword and point it too Chase. She couldn't control herself. "Chase go away now I am the one who is taking the lives of the gangsters and know I don't want to your life." Nausicaa said. Her eyes are red and she doesn't understand anything now. "Run while you have the chance Chase Run!" She screamed.

Chase didn't know what to do. Something was wrong with Nausicaa and he knew it but Chase had no idea how to help. He didn't want to run, but apparently his body didn't agree with him. Chase felt his legs take him farther and farther away from Nausicaa. This isn't right! He should be helping her not running away like a coward! Try as he might, Chase couldn't regain control of his body and relunctantly continued to run.

"This is why they call me the Angel Of Death. I can kill for the good of the world like this but, I can't control it. Chase come here." She said. She knew was wrong because she was controlling Chase's body. She couldn't help it and that's how she killed all those gangsters. "Stop controlling him. I knew it was too late to get away from him. I knew it!" She whispered. She held blades for when he cam back. " I will get the one called Chase." the unknown voice said. She stood there waiting and watching.

Suddenly, Chased felt himself going back towards Nausicaa. Nothing made sense! Why couldn't he control himself? He flt shivers crawl up his spine. When Chase saw her with her blades in her hands, he understood what was going on. The same thing Nausicaa did to those gangsters is what she was going to do him. "N-Nausicaa! What's going on?! Why can't I control my body?!" he said, fear clearly shown on his face.

"You are going to perish like the other and will suffer very slowly." she said to Chase. She felt the fear that Chase felt. Nausicaa was herself anymore she was like another person. "I am sorry Chase I can't kill an innocent person. You are here for to end the lives of the gangsters." Nausicaa said. She dropped her weapons and she stop the control over Chase. "I hope you can one day forgive me. I truly sorry."she said. She went back into a normal girl.

Once Chase felt that he had control over his body, relief was clearly shown on his face. But he still couldn't shake off the feeling of fear. He really wanted to know what just happened and why Nausicaa acted like she was another person. Things just didn't add up. "Nausicaa... who exactly are you?" he said, hoping to get at least a decent answer.

"You can say I am a demon, but it is the only way to end this war." She told him. She walked up to Chase and looked at him. Nausicaa felt his touched his shoulder and felt fire. "You have a fire. Chase you have a gift too? Your not the only one who is a orphan." she said. She knew he wanted answer. She started to cry. "I am going to end the war and I go where I belong in this world. That's always been my plan every since I had my life changed. I am the Angel of Death you can say." she said. She cried a little more. She was a horrible monster.

Chase had no idea what to say. It was all too much to handle at once, and he wasn't sure how to re-act. He started to panic a bit, seeing that Nausicaa was crying. Chase was really didn't like it when girls cry; it made him feel guilty even though he might not have anything to do with it. So he walked up to Nausicaa and wrapped his arms around her small frame as a sign of comfort. "Don't cry Nausicaa. Everything will work out." he said.

"I am a murder and you know it. Nothing will be alright." she said. She looked up and knew she was wrong to try to kill a good person."Hey Chase, You are really nice person. So I think of as a good friend." she said. She got her bag and picked up her drawings. She waved good bye and left her weapons in there place. "I will see you later Chase. Good bye." she said.

Chase wasn't expectin Nausicaa to leave so soon. He didn't like the way she called herself a murderer. But Chase was going to make sure that she didn't feel that way about herself. "Okay, I'll see you around" said Chase as he returned the wave.

Nausicaa ran up to him and gave him a hug. "Thank you for being a good person! I see ya later." she said. She started walking. Then she heard a scream. Nausicaa ran up to the problem. It was a little girl who was about to get kidnapped. She ran up to the gangster. "If you going to take her you have to go through me. I don't need my weapons to defeat you!" she yelled. She punched him in his face and kicked him in the stomach. "Little girl go hide!" she yelled. She kept beating the gangster up. He fell out and she turned around. She helped the little girl up. "Little girl where is your parents and what is your name so I can help you." she said calmly to her. The little girl looked up and said,"I don't have any parents and I don't have no wear to go and my name Li-Li" she said, Nausicaa smiled and put the little girl on her back and carried her. "Don't worry you can stay with me." she said. And they left.

Chase was laying down, trying to process everything that's happened so far. Unforunately for him, he was just giving himself a huge headache. He groaned in annoyance; he was getting nowhere at this rate. Chase sat up and let out a sigh. Things were just getting more complicated by the second.

'I wonder who child this is? It's weird that she was abandoned." Nausicaa thought. She looked around a found a place for the little girl and her to stay until tomorrow. "Hey are you hungry or something? I have food with at all times." she said to Li-Li. Li-Li smiled and said "Yeah I would like some food please.". Nausicaa handed her a peach. Li-Li took a bite and loved it. Nausicaa leaned back and started to draw again. Li-Li finished her peach and looked at Nausicaa's drawing. "Pretty drawing of the boy and girl!" she said. Nausicaa smiled.

Chase let out a sigh, maybe he should just take a break before his brain implodes on itself. Absentmindedly, he wondered what Nausicaa was doing right about now. Hopefully she wasn't doing anything that might make her feel worse about herself; that was something Chase wouldn't tolerate.

The sky was dark."Li-Li you should get some rest now." she said and smiled. Li-Li yawned and laid on the soft grass. The stars were very bright that night. Nausicaa laid back with her and watched the stars. "Hey what do you think is past the stars?" Li-Li said. Nausicaa thought to herself.

Chase opened his eyes, before yawning a bit. Funny, he didn't recall fall asleep. He sat up before sitting up and stretching a bit. Well, what ever the reason why he fell asleep it didn't really matter now. Chase stood up and wiped away some dirt off his pants before gathering his things and heading back to town.

"Hey Nauiscaa, my name isn't really Li-Li. My name is Lillia." the little girl said. Nauiscaa sat up and looked at the little girl. "My name is Nauiscaa but you can call me Nau." she said and smiled. Lilla looked at the sky and stood up. Nau stood up to. They started walking into town. Nau saw Chase coming their way. Lillia gripped Nau's hand harder.

Chase blinked when he saw Nausicaa holding hands with a little girl, not really expecting to see her so soon. "Hey Nausicaa" he called out to her, waving his hand slightly in their direction. The look the little girl was giving him made Chase a bit uncomfortable; it was almost like she was trying to judge who he was with her eyes. Pretty unnerving once you think about it.

"Hey Chase, by the way you can call me Nau." she said. Then Nau looked Lillia and saw that she was scared. She bent down and told her not to be worried. She gave her a hug. "Nau who is that? His he another Gangster." she said. Nau looked at her and saw that she was confused. "Lillia he is not one of them he is a good person once you get know him." she said. Lillia smiled at Chase but it was a weird smile though. Nau looked at the store behind them. "Hey you two wanna go get something to eat?" she said.

Chase thought about Nau's offer before shaking his head no. He didn't want to burden her much. "Nah, I'm not really hungry" said Chase, but unfortunately for him his stomach rumbled loud enough for both girls to hear. He blushed a bit in embarrassment as Nau and Lillia started giggling. He chuckled nervously before rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
