(Lol, silly iPod~ I love how they yell at Riku xD)

Riku looked at Haku, slightly guilty and scratched the back of his head nervously as Sora scolded him. He wasn't intending to hit that hard...

"Sorry..."He muttered, much to Miyu's surprise. Riku usually stayed silent if he did something wrong, especially at home. She stood up, looking to the sky and seeing a bird flying in the air, absolutely free...Free. She got an idea, pointing to the forestry and random ledges in front of them.

"Why don't we explore over there?"

Sora was surprised too. Riku never apologized. But then again, this was a first for Sora too. He doesn't want to get mad at Riku, but this time he managed to discipline him. He ackowledged Miyu's suggestion, nodding at the request. "Okay!" He stood up, Haku still with his hands covering the 'wound' Riku gave him. Kairi and Miyu led the way while the boys tagged along...which is new. Unless Riku decides to elect himself the leader again.

(I lol'd @"Unless Riku decides to elect himself leader again." xD Question: I feel like I'm making Riku OOc, am I? Or am I just being delusional?)

Miyu and Kairi linked arms, laughing as they talked a bit about the things they saw. The blond one of the duo looked behind her momentarily to look at the boys, to see how Haku was doing. He wasn't helpless but he preferred to watch a lot of the time. That or be pressured by Riku...Why'd that silver-haired boy have to be so mean sometimes?!

"Oh! Look at that tree Kairi, it has a ton of paopu fruits!" Miyu called gleefully, pointing upwards. Riku shook his head, arms crossed as he trailed behind he girls, on the far right of Sora and Haku. As he 'tch'ed and was about to say something in return, a disturbance caught his eye. On closer inspection, he noted that it was a cave.

"Look at that..." He muttered under his breath, pausing to examine it.

(Yeah Riku. A scary cave. Because when you see a scary cave, you say, "let's see what's in there." that's why no one wants to hang out with you. xD No, btw. Your Riku is accurate. :3)

Sora shivered upon seeing it. He got a weird vibe from it. "O-Oh..." He stammered. Haku liked it, though. He appreciated the discovery, approaching it curiously. "Whooooaa~" He exclaimed, "Its so cool~!"

(xDDD IKR? But people do wanna be his friend which is the weird thing xD Yay for accurate Riku~)

Riku, for once agreed with Haku and peeked in. The tunnel seemed a little long but heck, they had the whole day didn't they?

"You bet it is, I say we check it out." Miyu bit her lips, backing up a bit. It looked awfully dark in there and she wasn't to fond of the dark.

"I don't think we should, who knows what's in their!" Riku raised an eyebrow, looking back at them.

"What're you scared of? The bugs?"

(It's only because he's hot! >:0)

Sora fidgeted nervously. "I-I don't think we should go in there either, R-Riku..." He didn't like the dark either...Or bugs. Or anywhere with narrow passages, for that reason. Kairi didn't say anything, she only nodded in agreement. "We don't know what's in there..." Kairi finally said. Haku nudged her arm, pointing to the cave. "You're the one who said be adventurous, remember?"

"W-Well, I guess..." She was easily persuaded. But Sora, on the other hand, was not.

"Um..." Kairi pushed him along, trying to ease him up a little. "Just stay close to Riku and you'll be fine."

  • Author

(So true xD Yeah, stay next to Riku Sora. He'll only sacrifice you to the darkness if necessary xDDD -he totally would-)

Riku smiled at Sora beginning to descend into the darkness of the cave. He kept his hands on the rocky walls to make sure he stayed steady and didn't tumble to the ground. It was a bit longer then he thought but he had found that there was a dim light up ahead.

On the other hand, Miyu wasn't as easily convinced. She at least wanted to know it was safe or something.

That I won't get left in the dark...

"I'll just stick around here..."

(...N-No he wouldn't. D': R-Right?)

Every time Sora stepped on a stick or brushed himself against a rock or something, he'd yelp and cling to Riku immediately. Kairi sweatdropped everytime he did so. She didn't mean it like that when she said to stay close to Riku. But when they saw the light at the end, Sora let out a sigh of relief and unlatched himself from Riku.

(Lol, sorry. Delayed reply is delayed xD)

Riku snickered as Sora clinged to him a few times and by the time he got to the end of the tunnel, he was pleased. It was an open space, with a bit of sunlight filtering through the stones. It was damp in some spots but all in all, perfect for their hideout.

"This is awesome." He trailed of though as he noticed a door standing tall in the end of the cave.

"A door? What's that doing here?" Kairi asked, examining it thoroughly. A better question would be why someone would put a door in the middle of shrubbery and vegetation. Haku stares at it. "I wonder where it leads to..." Sora was intimidated by it. That doubtful feeling was welling up inside of him. He hid behind the silver-haired boy, a worried look crossing his face. "R-Riku..." He said urgently, also referring to the others. He didn't trust that door one bit.

Riku barely aknowledged the whimpering Sora -for once- moving closer to the door. It entranced him for some reason, the door calling to him likea soft whisper. He pressed his palm to the wood, almost hoping that the force pulling him forward would open the doors.

"I wonder what's behind it."

"Let's not go that far, Riku." Kairi frowned, trying to pull him off the door by tugging on his shirt lightly. Sora looked longingly down the tunnel they came through, wanting to turn back. "Yeah, I-I don't think we should open it..."

Riku shrugged off Kairi's hand lightly, still looking at the door with glazed over eyes. He lingered momentarily pulling back to crawl out the tunnel, ignoring the three behind him. He was quiet, mind lost in thought.

He wanted to open that door.

Once back, Sora was hanging onto Riku again. "I don't wanna go back there again, Riku." He said firmly. Kairi looked sadly in his direction. Sora wasn't a brave kid at all, was he? She hadn't been here long, but enough to know that he was constantly being pressured by Riku, his "best friend."

Miyu perked up in hearing them return, standing one her feet happily. But her smile fell when she heard Sora's distress. She frowned. Had it been scary?

Riku looked at Sora slightly shaken, giving a small frown.

"Why? It's cool." He said simply, looking at him in disinterest. It was a cool hiding spot for them...

"N-No, it's not! It was..." He paused, looking up at him innocently. "...Scary." He finished. Haku and Kairi looked at each other and nodded. They agreed. Something about that door...made them want to stay away. It was dangerous. Or at least, it's what they felt...Like...Their hearts were sinking.

Riku blinked, surprised that Sora, Kairi, even Haku, thought that.

"Scary? Guys, it's just a door." He said blatantly, pulling out of Sora's grasp a bit, his eyes slightly cold. That's not what he wanted to hear. It was supposed to be fun, not scary.

Miyu blinked, tilting her head to the side as she approached that trio.

"W-wait, what'd I miss?"

Kairi took the initiative to explain. "We found a door, and we're all scared of it. Riku, we can just find somewhere else to play." She said shakily, rememebering that feeling. It felt intimidating; like someone had a grip on her neck and just wrenched tighter...and tighter. Until she couldn't breathe. It felt...

Dark.

Miyu gave a small nod of understanding, though she really didn't get it. What had been so frightening about a...door of all things?

"Oh...well, Riku, you shouldn't force them to do something they don't want to." She said bashfully, shuffling her feet. Riku glared at her, before huffing and crossing her arms.

"You guys are just scared of nothing."

The rest of them shrugged, moving on to another activity. "C'mon, Riku," Kairi beckoned. "Let's play something else for now." He replied. The rest didn't say anything. The door seemed to have a different effect on Riku, like he wanted the dark feeling to overcome him someway.

  • Author

(Oh the irony xD)

"Fine, you guys pick something then." He huffed, leaning back against the trunk of one of the trees lingering in the shrubbery. He didn't understand, didn't they feel it? The curiousity that pulled at him? Why wouldn't they embrace it?

Miyu, for once, was out of ideas, looking to the ground sadly. She didn't like the tension between them all, not one bit. At this point, she'd much rather have lunch and go home.

"Sora!" The group looked around to see who had called his name. As it turned out, it was only Sora's mom. "Sora, come inside now! It's time for lunch!" The brunette waved to his friends shyly. "I...have to go. I'll see you tomorrow, I guess." They nodded. He looked over at his secluded friend and hesitated. "Bye...Riku." On that note, he turned to leave.

"There's nothing fun to do when Sora isn't here," Haku sighed. "And I think we should just forget about the door, because it seems like it's dominating our thoughts..." Kairi put a hand on his shoulder. "You're right! It's best if we just leave it alone. Let's all go home for today."

Miyu looked up and nodded, smiling. Maybe tomorrow they'd be better friends again. Yeah, we will! She cheered in her head, going to follow Haku and Kairi.

"C'mon Riku!" The silverette paused, looking at the cave longingly. Clearing his throat, he hovered by the entrance, staying still.

"I'll catch up, go ahead." He waved, going back into the cave, he knew they wouldn't follow him. He just wanted to open the door one time. Just once...

(After my next post is it okay if we time skip to about the first game time ^^)

(Yeah, sure. :3)

Sora barely touched his food that night. He kept on thinking about that door. And that...feeling. "Sora, what's wrong?" His mother asked, concerned about his unusual quietness. He snapped out of his daze and smiled sheepishly. "Oh, nothing! I'm just...too tired to eat." He lied. He didn't think his parents knew about the door beyond that tunnel. He didn't think anyone did. But like Kairi said, he shouldn't concern himself with it. It probably wasn't anything important. (Eheh. Yeah...)
