'Crap! Crap! Crap! I'm gonna miss the train!' that was the only thing that went through Sora's head as he ran as fast he could to the train station. His alarm didn't go off since the batteries died the during the night so Sora had overslept. Sora made a mental note to ask his mom to buy him a new one that didn't need batteries the next time she went to the store. Soon the train station came into sight and Sora immediately headed towards the ticket booth to buy his ticket. Once the small ticket touched his hand, Sora took off and boarded the train before it left. "Safe!" he cried out as he entered said train, earning himself a few looks from the other passengers which he ignored. Hey, they should try running 15 blocks in just 10 minutes.

Riku sat calmly in his seat, reading his tiny book. He looked up when he saw a boy, gasping for breath in the doorway of the metro. He had brown hair and sky blue eyes... He was wearing the same uniform as him. Blue plaid pants and a white polo shirt with a blue plaid tie. Did they go to the same school..?

Riku put down his book and put it away in his satchel. He walked up to the boy and looked at him curiously. He looked like he was going to have a seizure...

"You okay?"

"Huh?"

Sora looked up to see a boy with silver hair and aquamarine eyes around his age, maybe a little older than himself. He was wearing the same uniform as Sora himself. A white colored polo shirt with a blue plaid tie and matching pants. It was very likely that he went to the same school as him. Funny, he'd never seen him before, maybe he was in a different grade.

"Oh...yeah I'm...fine...just a little...worn out...from running is...all" Sora responded inbetween taking in the sweet oxygen he had denied his lungs during his 'light' run. 'I've got to work out more'

Riku looked at his worn out posture. He wondered why he was so tired. If he lived far, why didnt he get up earlier? The again, he looked like the type who didnt plan ahead. Maybe a last minute thinker.

Riku reached into his satchel and pulled out a water bottle that he was saving for Phys. Ed. he handed it to the boy and lightly, very faintly, smiled. "My name's Riku."

Sora took the water bottle and gratefully took a long drink of the cool liquid. He turned back to Riku and gave him his famous goofy grin. "Thanks alot man, I really needed that. My name's Sora by the way" he said cheefully while recapping the water bottle and putting it inside his black and blue bookbag. He immediately straightened up his posture and stretched out his hand to Riku.

"Nice to meet ya!"

  • Author

Riku expected to get the water bottle back, but shrugged it off. He probably needed that later. Just by looking at him, he could tell he'd procrastinate a lot before running to class. Riku shook the boys hand but as soon as he did, a wierd feeling came over him. Like...warmth....

"Uh, yeah...Nice to meet you too, Sora."

Sora wasn't really expecting much when he shook Riku's hand, so the warmth he felt once their hands touched was definately something he didn't expect. It was very...soothing having Riku's hand in his own which sort of made Sora feel a bit uncomfortable. After all he's only known the guy for a few minutes. He pulled his hand way from Riku's and immediately missed the warmth Riku's hand had give him.

"So...I'm just taking a guess here, but do you attend Destiny High?" asked Sora and mentally slapped himself. Of course Riku attended his school; he was wearing the same uniform for crying out loud!

(Ugh I suck at making up school names xD)

  • Author

(Lol it's cool! I was gonna call it that too.)

Riku pocketed his hand. He saw Sora fidgeting a bit and sighed.

"So...I'm just taking a guess here, but do you attend Destiny High?"

Riku looked up at the brunettes question. "Uh, Yeah. I do. I actually barely transferred this week. I used to go to a private school named the Thirteen Castle. Don't ask why I transferred...It's a long story..."

"Oh..."

So that's why Sora hadn't seen him around before. He was a transfer student. Sora scratched the back of his head sheepishly before looking out the metro's window. He was a bit curious about Riku's old school, but judging by his tone it was something he didn't want to talk about. After a few minutes of awkward silence, Sora noticed that they were almost at the next train station.

"Hey, were almost at our stop!"

  • Author

Riku looked at the window. It was true. The blue and white school was getting cloer and closer. He adjusted his bag and grabbed a hold of something. He saw Sora not getting a grip of anything and held his hand onto a rail. "Grab something. You don't want to fall."

As the metro came to a stop, Riku grabbed Sora's hand tighter, making sure he didnt stumble or trip.

"You okay, Sora..?"

Sora felt Riku grip his hand and the warmth was back. He felt heat rush towards his face and Sora turned his head away from Riku. He really didn't want him to see his blush. But why was he blushing in the first place? That was something Sora wouldn't figure out for a while.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine. C'mon, we better get off before the metro takes off with us on it" Sora joked stuttering a little at the beginning, but Riku didn't seem to talk notice of it.

Rike nodded. "Yeah." He let go of Sora's hand and walked out, a couple of other students getting off as well. He got out before the brown haired boy and decided to wait for him. That was his only company after all.

"Hey, Sora! Hurry up!" He called, wanting to get moving as fast as possible. In the meantime, he put on his iPod.

"I'm coming!" the brunette cried out, having gotten pushed back by the crowd of other passengers who didn't seem to notice him. Luckily, Sora managed to get out of the train before it took off and immediately went towards Riku. It looked like he was listen to some music, what kind though was something Sora couldn't really guess. Suddenly, he was struck with an idea that made him grin. Sora started to run ahead of Riku before yelling out as loudly as he could so the silver haired teen could hear him.

"Last one to reach the front gate of the school has to buy the winner Sea-Salt ice cream for the rest of the month!"

Sora laughed cheerfully, enjoying the startled look on Riku's face.

Riku gasped. He took out his earphones and put them in his pocket. This guy was just fooling, right? Oh, he wasn't... He stll didnt know that Riku was on the track and field team at his old school. Oh well. He'll find out now.

Riku tightened his bag securely before taking a deep breath. He exhaled slowly and spinted away. In a span of 3 seconds, he already passed the brunette.

"Guess you'll be buying." He said.

Sora's jaw nearly dropped to the floor when Riku passed him with ease. There was no way he was gonna lose! With that small statement in mind, Sora forced his legs faster, forgetting that he had ran 15 blocks straight without stopping. Although it didn't take long for him to remember, since he felt a muscle being pulled.

"Gah! Pulled a muscle!" Sora cried out, limping a bit as he tried to get rid of the pain. 'Smooth move Sora. You had to forget you ran 15 blocks without a single break!' Really, it was no wonder his friends told him he was bad at thinking ahead.

  • Author

Riku heard a yelp of pain and stopped. He turned around to see Sora clutching his leg. Astonished, the silver haired boy ran back to the brunette and took a look at him.

'That idiot pulled a muscle...', Riku thought.

Riku got the boy and flung his arm over him. He grabbed Sora's belt and hoisted him upwards.

"Better? I'll carry you til it stops hurting, alright?"

"Eh?"

That was all Sora could say before Riku helped him out. He blinked once, them twice before becoming slightly flustered. "Yeah, thanks Riku. It is my fault anyways. My friends always tell me that I suck at planning ahead" he said while letting out a cheerful laugh. That was Sora for ya, the happy-go-luck teen that barely let anything get to him. The two teens continued on their way before making it to the front gate of Destiny High. Sora's leg was feeling much better by now, but Riku hadn't let him go yet.

"Uh... Riku, you can let go of me now. My leg feels better."

  • Author

Riku blinked. He had already grown accustomed to Sora's weight."Oh. Right." He let Sora go and made sure his leg was okay. "You shouldn't sprint so fast like that. It's bad for you. Next time you'll spain your leg or something." Riku gave Sora a stern warning and walked along to his class.

"Take care of yourself, alright?"

"Okay! See ya around!" said Sora before going the opposite direction. Riku seemed like a pretty cool guy to hang with. Then Sora realized somthing and immediately turned around and jogged towards Riku. "Hey Riku wait up! I wanna ask you something!" he exclaimed as Riku stopped and turn towards Sora with a look that said 'What did I just tell you?' but Sora was oblivious to it. That or he chose to ignore it.

"Do you wanna have lunch with me and my friends today?" he asked while tilting his head to the side rather cutely

  • Author

Riku couldn't help but blush a bit at the boy's expression. He noticed his own sillyness and laughed. "F-Fine..." He put a hand on Sora's head and ruffled his hair. "Just stop running so fast, will ya? I don't want to have to carry you up to the nurse's office on the second floor." Riku said.

He turned around and started to his class again. "Bye, Sora. Nice meeting you!"

Sora whined a bit when Riku ruffled his hair, but really didn't mind it too much. After all, his hair practically defied gravity without hair gel. Even when it was wet! That was one mystery that no one, not even Sora himself, would be able to solve. "Okay, okay! I won't run too fast anymore." he said with a big silly grin. He waved bye to Riku before heading back to where his class was. He couldn't wait to introduce Riku to his friends at lunch.

(time skip?)

(Sure!)

Riku sighed deeply. When will this stupid Calculus class be OVER? He slumped in his seat and remembered that he was supposeed to meet Sora and his friends at lunch... He smiled faintly at the thought.

"DIIIIINNNGG!!!!!!"

Riku got up and quickly packed his things before bolting out of the door. But thats' when he remembered he had no idea where the cafeteria was....

"Just follow the crowd, Riku.." He mumbled to himself.

Sora was already in the cafeteria with his friends at their usually table. Sora's friends were the following people: Kairi, Namine, Roxas, Ven, Terra, Aqua, Axel, and Xion. He made sure to keep an eye out for a certain silver haired teen and sure enough Sora spotted the one he was looking for. Jumping up from his seat, Sora waved his hand wildly, hoping to get Riku's attention. His friends shared a look among on another. Who was Sora motioning to?

"Hey Riku! Over here!" Sora cried out, oblivious to his friends' confusion. His actions were rewarded when Riku noticed him and gave him a small wave.

Riku noticed the brunette sitting on a table not too far from where he was. He waved and starteed to push through the crowd, trying to get to Sora. He was stepped on and pushed a few times but when he got to his firned he smiled. "Man, this school is crowded..." Riku noticed the other figures on the table and his smile faded... He put on a serious expression.

Strangers.

"Don't worry you'll get use to it" Sora said, laughing lightly before noticing Riku's expression. He looked between Riku and his friends before putting two and two together to get four. Riku didn't who his friends were and was a little cautious. "Right, guys this is Riku. He's a new transfer student here. Riku these are my friends" said Sora as he introduced his friends to Riku while telling him the difference between Ven and Roxas so he wouldn't get the two mixed up. By the time Sora finished introducing everyone, Riku seemed to have relaxed if only a little.
