okay well i finished aquas story so went to ven to get a secret boss i wanted to fight mf but i know i had to fight vanitas lingering spirit but guess what? didnt find him. i looked behind all the rocks in seat of war so am i missing some thing?

You have to beat Ventus's story and unlock the area Badlands at the Keyblade Graveyard

Did you do Final Episode? You need that or else neither will appear.

You don't need the secret ending for the secret bosses. You need to beat the game as all three characters and get the Final Episode. To get the Final Episode, you need to collect all the Xehanort Reports. Then you need to beat the Final Episode and save when it asks you to. Then open up a save file for the character you want to fight Vanitas LS (if you wanna fight as Aqua you need to go to Final Episode) then go to the Keyblade Graveyard. There will be two options, one which will take you to right before the final battles (can't remember the name), and the other is Badlands. You wanna go to Badlands.

Then open up a save file for the character you want to fight Vanitas LS (if you wanna fight as Aqua you need to go to Final Episode) then go to the Keyblade Graveyard.

 

If you want Aqua you just go to Aqua's story. You don't have access to the Keyblade Graveyard in Final Episode.

Yes you do. I've tried it myself. You can't fight Vanitas LS in Aqua's Story. Once you beat the Final Episode, the Keyblade Graveyard opens up and has just the Badlands. That's the only way you can fight him as Aqua. And then Land of Departure opens back up after you defeat him and you can take on MF. You can only fight them as Aqua in the Final Episode. Believe me, I've tested it.
