Everyone makes mistakes, even in their dreams. That's what life is. It's just a long path of events that make us stronger. But sometimes it backfires. Sometimes, there are those select few who can't handle life as it's thrown at them. Namine is one of those unfortunate souls. After the death of her mother, Namine was left with her (foster) father, Vexen. Unluckily for her, his short temper leads to abusive displays of action towards her. Namine's mother was always there to tell her she was beautiful, that she was fine just the way she was. But now that she's gone it seems the teasing at Twilight Town's public high school has gotten worse. She doesn't talk to any kids. To Namine, her life was and is the epitome of hell. Namine wants to end it. So she cuts herself.

After getting caught by a girl by the name of Kairi in school, she is sent to a peer mediation center, privately, on campus. She attends a session every day during 2nd period with her "therapist"; Demyx. His job: to teach Namine the meaning of friends, and to tell her that she's perfect just the way she is. But along the way, maybe, just maybe, he'll fall in love.
