Giggles's eyes widened, staring down at herself in horror. The force of his powerful catch made her spine snap in two, the two broken pieces of vertebrae protruding out of her chest, bloodied from going through her organs. A piece of intestine hung off of the sharp bone, making Giggles at a loss of her voice, only a few exasperated gasps escaping her lips.

Splendid, seemingly oblivious to the two sharp bones protruding from Giggles chest, figured her gasps and terrified glint in her eyes was simply because she was still shaken from the fall so he flew upwards to the ledge of the cliff where Cuddles was waiting anxiously and placed Giggles twitching body onto the ground, proud of saving another victim. "Saving".

"There we go, it's all good now, I got her." Splendid stated proudly, puffing out his chest.

Cuddles hadn't noticed the wounds at first either, smiling at the superhero in relief. (It was pretty awesome to meet a celebrity like him anyways.) "Uh... Th-Thank you!" He stammered, nodding in his direction.

All the while, Flippy was watching, mildly interested. What a sappy scene. Wait, they knew she was dying, right?

"No problem Cuddles~" Splendid stated, giving a quick wink and a cute salute before walking away with a happy jump in his step. He had saved yet another citizen from impending doom and that made him feel accomplished. As he fell into a happy pace he peeked one eye open, taking in his surroundings. It was then he noticed Flippy sitting alone in the park, leaning against a tree. Splendid frowned. He looked so...lonely. The blue haired teen gave a smile, changing his direction to the isolated teen. He was unaware of how he started floating.

"Hey, hey you!"

He peeked an eye open, looking over at him briefly before shutting his eyes again Just when I'm trying to take a nap, too... He sighed. "Yeah?" he asked, not really in that sociable mood right now.

Splendid plopped down next to Flippy, crossing his legs Indian style, still smiling. It occurred to him in the back of his mind that he hadn't really known what to say to this green-haired teen. He just wanted to come over to say hi to him. So he did.

"Hiya." He looked around, thinking to himself, noticing that Flippy's eyes were shut tightly. He thought harder. "Did you see? I saved Giggles from dying." Despite that not being the entire truth he said it with absolute pride because as far as he knew he had saved Giggles.

Flippy raised a questioning eyebrow, his emerald eyes open by now. He adjusted his hat, tipping it out of his face and onto the crown of his head where it belonged. "But she died." He countered, motioning to Cuddles, who was now frantic, hanging over Giggles's lifeless body, crying and helplessly trying to push the bones back where they once were and failing miserably.

Splendid blinked, looking over to Cuddles stressing and then back to Flippy, confused. He registered Giggles dead body but not the fact that she had been dead only after he had caught her. He...he was pretty sure that she had died when he pit her on the ground or when he walked away. Yeah, that's it. Not his fault at all.

"What? No she didn't." Splendid lied, feigning stupidity and obliviousness. "What's wrong with your eyesight?" Spebdid questioned, chuckling slightly, shaking his head.

What's wrong with yours? He thought, though not saying that aloud. Wearing that stupid mask all the time... Then he had a sudden realization... Someone was talking to him. A real person actually took the time to actually talk to him. He blinked, giving him an inquisitive look. "Wait... Why are you even talking to me? Don't you have 'superhero duties' to attend to or something?" He asked, a bit sarcastically, mocking him a bit.

Splendid frowned, sitting back against the trunk of the tree next to Flippy, leaning his head back to look at the sky, sighing.

"Superhero duties? It's not like this is a full time job. I just save people when they're in danger." Splendid admitted, turning his head to smile at Flippy slightly. He wasn't bothered by the sarcasm or annoyance in the teen's tone. It just made him happy that someone was talking to him without fawning over him like others did. Being a Super Hero wasn't ways easy. "What about you? Shouldn't you being doing something productive being a war veteran and stuff?"

  • Author

Flippy made a face at the question. Yeah, I'm a war veteran. Meaning I WAS in a war before I was DISCHARGED. He sat up a bit, supporting his back against the treetrunk boredly. "There's nothing 'productive' to do when I don't have a job or basically anything else to spend my time doing." He retorted, getting up to go home. He had spent more than enough time here.

Splendid felt the smile drop from his face as Flippy got up to leave, dusting himself off. He don't want him to go. He was actually having a conversation with somebody and now they were going to go without even saying why? Or bye for that matter...

"H-Hey wait!" Splendid reached up to tug at the sleeve of Flippy's shirt feeling a bit put out. It wasn't very nice to just leave somebody without saying where you were going...

He wanted to pull out of Splendid's grasp, but didn't. He didn't want to be even more rude than he already was. He turned to him, gently pulling out of his hold. Gently enough so he didn't seem like he was trying to get away too eagerly. "Do you need something?" He asked. Was it that important that he'd had to stop him like that?

Splendid drew his hand back, looking up at Flippy curiously. Did he need something? My God did this guy ever have a conversation? You don't just...walk away from somebody talking to you!

"Well...where're you going?" Splendid asked, sitting up a bit more attentively. He pretended to be deaf to Cuddles' full out wailing in the background now.

  • Author

Flippy blinked. He cared enough to know where he was going, apparently. He sat in front of him again, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "You seriously wanted me to stay?" He asked, a bit irriated, though mostly flattered. He didn't know how to start a conversation, it's not like he didn't want to.

Splendid broke into a grin, nodding as he folded his arms behind his head. Good, he was sitting down. Hopefully he'd be to lazy to get back up. At least until he went home anyway.

"'Course I did. Why wouldn't I?" Flippy seemed really awkward in this situation...like he wasn't use to having friends or anything. Which was odd, this was a friendly neighborhood, how could anyone not have at least ONE friend.

  • Author

Flippy didn't know what to say. "No one's ever talked to me before. You're one of the first... I didn't think you'd actually make the effort to sustain a conversation with me..." He admitted bashfully. No one wanted to talk to him because he seemed boring; that was surely the reason since a year and a half in war, trapped in a battlefield, only able to converse with your own thoughts after you witnessed all your friends were either blown to smithereens or shot multiple times, could really do bad things to your social life.

Splendid felt guilt wash over him as Flippy said that. The poor kid never did have any friends or even acquaintances. How could...how could anyone live their life like that? Living alone without anyone to talk to and to share fun memories with. Splendid gave an upward twitch of his lips. He had a goal.

"Well of I course I would." Splendid leaned back on the palms of his hands, his head tilted to the side. "That's what friends do--talk to each other. So I've heard anyway." Splendid said, giving a weak chuckle.

  • Author

Had Flippy been drinking something, he would've spit it out. "F-Friends? We've been talking for five minutes!" He countered, for some reason, blushing. It's not like he'd no anything about a time limit to becoming friends; after all, he's never had a true friends. Just battle-buddies and family members. Friends... With Splendid? Already?

Splendid shrugged, giving a sad smile.

"Well, yeah. I mean, I wouldn't know anything of friends but I'd assume that's what we are." He got up, doing a slight hair flip and smiling up at Flippy, hands in his pockets as he motioned to the direction of the mountains somewhat in the distance. "So I guess if you don't really want to talk I can go home? You were planning on leaving anyway."

  • Author

"Ah..." Flippy shook his head, feeling a little awkward to be around him now. "I guess... For just a while longer... If you want..." He muttered, playing with his fingers nervously. (He had made a habit out of doing so. Unintentionally, of course.) Maybe it wouldn't hurt to take a change of pace.

Splendid smiled but shook his head, turning to face Flippy to take of his hat and ruffle his hair teasingly. He handed the hat to him before hovering, rising in the air and waving to him.

"Nah, it's okay. I'll see you tomorrow or something." Splendid stated, saluting Flippy as he flew away towards his home/base in the mountains, letting the wind blow in his face creating a pleasant breeze.

  • Author

He couldn't tell if that salute was a normal routine, or if it was just to mock him. He gave a weak salute back before turning his seperate way, fixing his hair back to normal before heading home. He was back at his manor in no time, sliding down the door with a sigh. He sat there for a while, looking at his sleeve in shock.

"Friends, huh?"

Splendid was soaring peacefully throughout the air, looking down at the land. He was searching for a familiar green blob on the ground, wanting to hang out with him again like yesterday. He had already mixed up Lifty and Shifty with Flippy and was disheartened in his disability of finding him.

"Where are you?"

  • Author

All that needed to be done was a single flash of a camera to turn a happy scene into a bloodbath. The flashing reminded Flippy of bombs/gunshots, and he snapped.

((Warning: Do not read if you are squeamish.))

Flippy's eyes dilated, their natural forest green color turning gold as he gripped his shoulder, trying so hard not to let this happen. He could feel the urge to do something he didn't want to, but he was unable to stop himself. He came up behind one of the unlucky citizens, holding their chin up and cutting their throat open with a Swiss army knife he kept with him, the red liquid spraying everywhere. He left that person to drop, watching the blood drain from their body. The rest of the group was alarmed, starting to run away.

He wouldn't let it happen. He grabbed a blue-haired female (Petunia), plunging his knife into her abdomen, watching her cough up some blood. He ripped a large cut from her lower stomach to her neck, the gash oozing blood and organs of sorts. Flippy pulled them out, piling her slimy entrails next to her mutilated body.

One left. No escape. He used part of Petunia's intesines to wrap around Mime's throat, holding him up higher, strangling him until he was blue in the face and foaming at the mouth, his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Flippy let out a demented cackle, the laugh growing fainter and fainter until he fell to his side, propping himself up on a tree.

That was just a little bit ago. Now, he cleaned himself of blood, took a cold shower, and headed back outside, pretending like he hadn't just massacred three people.
