((Thank you for that lovely warning Belyxsh. For the record, here's the list of characters each of us will be playing as:

Belyxsh: Flippy, Petunia, Cuddles, Lifty, Lumpy, Lammy, Nutty, Sniffles, Disco Bear, ect.

Toasty: Flaky, Giggles, Shifty, Splendid, Toothy, Russell, Mime, Handy, ect.

Let's get started.))

Flaky fidgeted nervously with the hem of her sweater, glancing up and down the street just outside her house. The sun was high in the sky, beaming down on her small form making her sweat just slightly. It was no doubt a beautiful day out, a perfect morning and, most likely, afternoon to come, for the first day of school. Not that Flaky was anticipating it at all. She shuffled her feet, lowering her gaze to the side walk below, counting the indents in the cement. She had no reason to anticipate anything that had to do with school and/or meeting people from school.

Ever since Flaky had hit Middle School, her social life had gone to hell, all her so called "friends" leaving her to be something more in the "in-crowd" as it was called. She was left to linger and be teased with the lesser kids in the student body--like Mime and Russell. She missed being friends with Petunia and those memorable sleep overs with Giggles. And sharing lunches with Cuddles had always been a laugh and enjoyable. But now...now it was far from fun. Her closest peers had gone on, even him, who usually tormented her the most. The antsy red head had managed to avoid him all summer but now...now she knew she'd have a harder time staying out of his path.

As the yellow school bus come around the corner at the end if the road, Flaky shut her eyes tightly, focusing on her breathing. She didn't want to walk on the bus halfway through a hyperventilation phase. Really, she didn't even want to get on the vehicle. If Flaky had it her way she'd be sitting at home with her Chemistry textbooks she borrowed from the Library teaching herself. But no one ever really got their way in this world did they?

"Here we go..." Flaky whispered softly under her breath as the bus stopped with a squeak of protest in front of her quivering body, it's doors opening as she boarded it with all the courage she could muster.

As usual, Flaky's stop was always last. The entire bus was packed, almost splitting at the seams. At closer observation, there were three main "layers" of the bus. These "layers" had been a usual with the Happy Tree children since Middle School. All the way in the back was the 'cool kids.' This is the loudest, most overly-littered place on the bus, and probably in the entire school. Popular kids didn't have a limit to their ages, and any high school kid could be deemed popular despite their grade number. (Social skills, looks, and fashion were taken into account, mind you.) This layer included people like Petunia, Giggles, Cuddles, Handy, Splendid, Flippy, and others.

The second and middle layer was where the troublemakers and 'Average' kids were. They were basically all the people who have had detention at least once, or have gotten yelled at for talking too much. These kids could be heard making fart noises and talking about girls all the time, no matter what layer you belong in. These kids were Lifty, Shifty, Disco Bear, Toothy, Nutty, and Lumpy.

And, finally, the front of the bus belonged to the losers. Pretty self-explanatory. They were smart, didn't usually have a good sense of humor, were below average looking, and wore ugly clothes. These people also had a tendency to ruin layers 1 and 2's good time, and were basically fodder for the popular kids to play around with and bully. There was Lammy (she had mild schitzophrenia, and was immediately deemed a loser for freaking out in the middle of class during an episode), Russell (liked comic books and had a huge obssession with Pirates of the Caribbean), Sniffles (thick-rimmed glasses, allergies, nasal voice, science geek; the works), Mime (had a birth defect that didn't allow him to talk), and Flaky (for poor social skills).

Petunia was the first to notice that Flaky got on the bus. She wore a smirk, turning to Giggles, who sat next to her, and leaned in to whisper something.

"Look who just got on the bus," She motioned her head towards the redhead struggling to find an empty seat. "That."

Giggles turned briefly away from her conversation she was having with a blushing Cuddles (probably because they were holding hands and had been since they got on the bus) to see what Petunia was talking about. Her pink eyes roamed to the direction of her bluenette friend's haughty gaze and her own smirk curled around her lip glossed lips. That was referring to Flaky. A red headed girl sporting a pink shirt that looked to be a few sizes to big length wise, a simple black skirt, dorky knee high black leggings, and dress shoes from what was probably the Fourth Grade. Your typical Layer 3 nerd. Compared to Giggle's no less than perfect appearance, Flaky looked like a disgrace--a disaster that hadn't learned to deteriorate into nothing.

Flaky, completely oblivious to the unbreakable layer system at the moment and more concerned with finding a suitable seat, went straight last the first four rows designated for "her kind"; the Losers of Happy Tree High. A few kids went to pull at her book-bag, more specifically Mime and Lammy (the two paying her attention) to pull her back to her correct zone. It was only when she saw the dirty and questioning looks shot at her by the Average kids that she realized she had crossed over where she wasn't welcome.

"Ah--I-I'm sorry..!" She stuttered, her pale complexion flushing a rosy red. A few of the kids, ones she recognize as the twins--Lifty and Shifty and Toothy--raised their eyebrows. To be honest, they were perfectly fine with someone sitting in their area, just as long as they didn't talk and pretty much acted like the seatbelt tied into the seat and didn't make themselves known. As Flaky took a few steps back, she found her eyes locking with a certain pair of flamingo pink orbs shimmering with disdain; Giggles. In all her glory for the first day of school nonetheless. She had a pair of sunglasses resting on top of her light pink hair (tied into a side pony), hoop earrings, a light dose of make-up, some brand name shirt and a denim mini-skirt with heeled sandals to top it off. An immaculate attire as always.

Giggles pursed her lips as she caught Flaky's eyes and flashed her teeth in a devious smile. She crossed her legs, leaning back into the bus seat, an all to familiar "higher-than-thou" look on her face. Time to make up for all those missed, insult-less summer days.

"Hey Flaky, the trash section is up front. You might wanna' know your place--you're stinking it up back here already." Giggles chided venomously. Flaky lowered her eyes in shame, moving to step back but instead stumbling backwards nearly on her rear end as the bus driver, feeling impatient, began to start driving. She managed to ledge herself against one of the seats but not before her skirt flew up just slightly to reveal a pair of granny panties (which really were normal underwear but unless it was a thong they were classified as granny panties by the Cool girls). Giggles snorted as a mortified look crossed Flaky's face before she was pulled into a seat by Mime.

"What a loser~" Giggles cooed, flipping her hair before continuing her conversation with her much loved boyfriend, Cuddles, uncaring of how an embarrassed Flaky sunk into the share seat, hugging her bag, face fully red all the way to her ears.

Flippy was watching all the while, standing up from where he was in his two-seater with Splendid. It was a bit boring being by the window since you didn't get to see what was going down in the isle. It's not like the bus driver cared much if they stood up since they had connections, but Flippy was usually pretty chill with being near the window. But there was just something about Flaky and the way she acted, he didn't know what, that made him want to observe her more. He didn't regret cutting off the friendship between him and Flaky a long time ago, but he did regret abusing his power as a popular kid to the point of joining in on her belittling. He would have wanted to partake in emotionally torturing her on his own; he had a weird way with the psyche of pretty much anyone. After all, the reason Splendid had become friends with him was because of that. So he really had no right to complain, but he still found solace in watching her from afar and just seeing how she dealt with this abuse all these years.

He plopped down on his seat again, taking his earbuds out and putting his iPod in the front pocket of his backpack. He ignored the obnoxious cackles between Giggles and Petunia, glanicng over at them briefly. He loathed them. They didn't deserve their status, the self-proclaimed "princesses" of the school. What kind of "princesses" exchange make-up and advice on good sex? How did that teach duty? He watched as the two rambled on about heaven-knows-what, rolling his eyes and resting his chin boredly in his palm, gazing out the window blankly.

~

Lammy quietly shuffled through her backpack, pulling out a pickle and hugging it close to her chest as she always did. Although it was just an idle pickle, Lammy's sensitive, schitzophrenic mind told her that it was a person with human feelings. She had even given it a name; Mr. Pickles. Lammy was normally very quiet, with a soft, serene voice and a laugh similar to that of a gentle coo of a bird. But really, she said things in a very morbid, dark sense and made it seem almost depressing. "You shouldn't have to deal with them," Lammy said to Flaky, rubbing her thumbs over what would be Mr. Pickles's smile. "...You don't deserve it. None of us do."

Splendid exhaled heavily from next to Flippy as he stood up momentarily to watch the events unfolding between Giggles and Flaky. From his seat, the bluenette shook his head, frowning slightly. Despite being Cool he wouldn't go as far as to sink to Giggles level of insults and jabs. Sure he'd mock an unfortunate Loser once or twice but he always smiled and laughed it off so they knew not to take it to personally. He knew most of them understood that he had to do what he had to do to maintain his rank. Still, no need to insult someone's scent or slight mess-up. You could keep a person alert for the rest of their life--making them afraid to say much of anything. Then again, that was their job being at the top of the pyramid in Happy Tree High.

As Flippy finished his observation, plopping down none to gently (or gracefully for that matter) onto the seat, Splendid rolled his navy blue eyes, resisting the smile pulling at his lips. He poked his best friend since Pre-K sharply on the shoulder flipping some of his hair out of his eyes (drawing a sigh of adoration from one of the girls in their section, but he was used to it).

"Hey, Flippy, how long has it been now since the two of them had been friends? Fifth grade? We're Juniors now, that's still pretty harsh to do even after 5 years." Spendid admitted with a nervous laugh, praying to god Giggles hadn't overheard him. Luckily she was to busy tracing soft circles on Cuddles' arm, a dreamy look on her face. Man he didn't get why Cuddles stuck around with her. Sure she was pretty but even he ha to admit, personality wise she got an F-.

~

Flaky flicked Lammy a side-ways glance as she sat across the aisle, offering the smallest shake of her head. That wasn't true. She wouldn't have been treated that way if she hadn't crossed through layers. Of course she deserved it. She hadn't been paying attention so it was her fault. Flaky licked her lips and swallowed, moistening her parched throat and gained enough confidence to speak, still refusing to lift her head. As if she was anticipating Giggles to scold her for doing so--for moving a muscle.

"N-No. I did. I-I wasn't paying attention. B-But it's okay, thank you anyway..." Flaky whispered, amber eyes hooded with more disappointment with herself. She figured she could expect more cold remarks from people throughout the day. After living in her house locked up the whole summer with her parents on vacation, the Cool kids had a lot to make up for. Mime frowned, rubbing her shoulders slightly to which she gave a small, pathetic smile in return. Then the bus jerked to a sudden stop. They were there; at Happy Tree High.

Flippy looked at him through the corner of his eye, his expression barely changing. He slung his bag over his shoulder, standing up as the bus came to a halt. "I don't care," He proclaimed, watching as the other students stood up as well. He heard a few girls squeal at his comment, and he groaned internally. It's like whatever he said was automatically God's Will, and every girl was after him. Flippy, wanna go out Saturday?, Do you have plans later?, Don't you have a girlfriend yet? Shut the firetruck up. You'd think that they were used to hearing 'I don't care' all the time...

He looked back at Splendid and leaned down to tell him something, so that the others wouldn't hear. "Are you going to skip class and smoke with me or not?"

~

Lammy smiled back at her, giving a nod. She looked down at Mr. Pickles, giving it a kiss. She got some weird stares, especially from Lifty and Shifty, who were her main bullies. The twins both laughed their signature laughs in unison, Lifty snatching the pickle from her. "Eh?" She looked up at them, the younger of the twins wagging it in front of her face mockingly. "Give him back!"

"Oh, I'm sowwie," He said, faking an innocent baby voice. "Did I hurt your boyfriend?" He asked, making Lammy blush. He had seen her kiss a pickle. How embarrassing... Lammy pouted, reaching out to grab it from him, but Lifty didn't let her, reaching his arm out farther behind him, out of her reach. "Why do you carry this thing around if you aren't even gonna eat it?"

"I-I don't...Know what you're talking about..."

Splendid gave a shaky laugh, looking around and shrugging, pushing Flippy away just barely from the close proximity he was at by his chest. He knew Flippy smoked, he could smell it sometimes on his breath. But that...just wasn't his thing. He prefered to be those few in the Cool level who actually succeeded in life and weren't traced back to be the mom or dad of some kid who's fellow parent was their firetruck buddy one night after getting a little to tipsy. Besides, he couldn't afford to smoke, not with Baskeball Try Outs coming up. Picking up his book-bag and inging it loosely over his shoulder, Splendid shook his head, giving an apologetic shrug.

"Nah, I can't do that--not with try-outs just around the corner from what the Coach told me over the summer. But I'll skip with you. And, dude, to save ourselves the awkwardness, just call it KryptoNut like I told you." He laughed. "No one will no one will know what you're talking about." Splendid waited for some of the kids to get in front of him as they filed out of their seats to wait for the buses to let off. They still had 5, maybe 10, minutes left.

~

Flaky looked up as Lifty and Shifty approached Lammy nonchalantly, like they owned that section of the bus. Which wasn't true, despite how unpopular the Losers might have been. They still had a right to their section. The red-head watched as Lifty snatched Lammy's precious Mr. Pickle from her fingertips, taunting her with harsh words. That wasn't necessary...it's not like she had done anything wrong. Mime watched concerned as the events began to occur frowning. Shifty chimed in with his identical twin, an equally as mischievous grin on his face.

"'Course you do. Eat, you know, like this?" Shifty's eyes widened with malice as he lead the pickle over to his mouth and nibbled the tip off of it precisely before chomping a huge bite off the top just to add a dramatic effect. A bit of juice trickled down his chin. Flaky frowned. She could only imagine the horrible screams Lammy might be hearing from Mr. pickle due to her schizophrenia.

Flippy raised an eyebrow, stifling a laugh from his ignorance. He knew Splendid would give him an answer like that, it was just the way he was. Unlike the others, he wasn't a total idiot or a manwhore. He had actually cared about how he did with both sports and academics. He shrugged, though still satisfied that he'd skip with him. He'd never say no to something like that. "Your loss," He said, leaning over the top of the seat to talk to Handy, who sat in front of them. The two conversed, until he stopped listening, watching what was transpiring between the twins and Flaky's group. There seemed to be a bit of a spat between Lifty, Shifty, and Lammy. He 'feh'd. Lammy was a surefire target for anyone.

~

Lammy watched, heartbroken as her pickle was mercilessly devoured by the older twin. In her mind, colors mixed and her voices started up, hearing the piercing screams of Mr. Pickles ringing in her ears. She clutched her head, making strained gasps as she tried to snap out of her episode, sobbing lightly. Truffles put a hand on Lammy's shoulder, trying to calm her down. It was futile. She was already crying, giving herself a self-embrace to calm down.

Meanwhile, the twins laughed, Lifty leaning over his brother and running his tongue over the bit of juice that had trickled down his brother's chin, licking his own lips afterward.

Splendid just gave a laugh in response, slinging on arm around Flippy's shoulders playfully. He knew his friend was happy he was tagging along with him to skip class. Though he probably would have offered to skip with Flippy if the teen hadn't done so. He hated listening to the Homeroom teachers reading the rules and regulations out of their Agenda Books and telling them what they could and couldn't do. It was a waste of a few class periods that he could be using to converse with Flippy and spend time with him.

However, it was then he noticed some sort scuffle going on towards the front of the bus. He recognized the two who cause this drama being Lifty and Shifty--two twins who were rumored to be, ah, involved with each other. That may have been the only reason the two of them weren't up in the Cool social class with Flippy and them.

"What's going on up there?" Splendid asked softly, cranning his neck to see over Lumpy's abnormal height.

~

Shifty gave a slight smirk, blushing only slightly at the actions of his brother. They often had small public displays like that but didn't mean the heat wasn't bound to go somewhere other than South. He picked at Mr. Pickle, waving the half-eaten fruit in front of Lammy's face tauntingly while taking slow, excruciating bites. The scene made Mime look away out of pity and disgust for the lavender haired female.

Flaky on the other hand couldn't stop watching. She bit her lip. After Lammy had helped her a little bit she couldn't just sit there and watch as she was tormented, right? Lammy was one of the closest things she had to a friend and it wasn't fair to just watch and do nothing while she was tortured. So with plucking up the little courage that remained within her, Flaky stood up and set her face into defiance as she gripped the strap of her messenger back tightly.

"Hey! You shouldn't...pick...on....her..." Flaky's voice drifted off as Shifty stood up looking over at her with mildly interested, half-lidded eyes.

"Excuse me?" Flaky sputtered for a response, shrinking backwards. She just had to say something...

  • Author

Flippy looked to the front of the bus, noticing Flaky taking a stand against the twins. Or, trying anyways. He narrowed his eyes, deciding to do something. He didn't want others doing something like that to her. Especially not when those bullies were of a low status as is. Flippy strode to the front, where he didn't even belong, and grabbed both Lifty and Shifty by the collars of their shirts and pulling them back. (Although he was shorter than them, he didn't care.) "Don't even." He said calmly, shoving them aside, breaking apart their intimate moment. Others watched him, the bus completely soundless. Never in the history of cool has someone as awesome as Flippy stood up for someone like Flaky.

"Uah?" Lifty yelped as he was yanked away from his brother. (Way to break the moment, Flippy.) They were officially put in there place, about as soundless as the rest of the bus was. Flippy turned back to his normal spot, turning to look at her from the side of his emerald eyes (almost sexily). "'You okay?"

Splendid was expecting a lot of things to happen when a trembling and most certainly unsure Flaky stood up to the twins. He maybe thought that she'd succeed in silencing them--which was highly unlikely. He had suspected that what was likely was that Shifty would turn around and silence her by ridiculing her or even getting physical and shoving her into her seat next to Mime. However, what did occur was something Splendid had never in a million years thought would happen. Flippy pushed through the throngs of people to get to the gathering in the front of the bus where he promptly lifted Lifty and Shifty and tossed them to the side. Splendid's jaw dropped as his navy blue eyes widened and blinked several times. He even rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't dreaming or something of that sort.

Giggles from next to him screeched in irritation. Everyone knew that you had to run something by her before you did it if it was as crucial as assisting the likes of Flaky. Her cheeks puffed up and she dug her finely manicured nails into the palms of her hand, taking deep inhalations of breath. Flippy was pushing his luck in the Cool crowd. You could only accomplish so much with your status before it brought you and everyone around you down to a level that no one desired to be at.

"How dare he?!" Splendid gulped, ducking to the side to hopefully miss the poison drenched daggers she glared. He'd surely get the blame for not controlling his best friend.

~

Flaky, along with the other Losers in the front of the bus, were awestruck. Mime struggled to choose an appropriate facial expression, seeming torn between surprise and disbelief. Shifty moved carefully to Lifty, glaring sharply at Flippy. Who did he think he was? But the teen knew exactly who he was and what he could do. So instead of complaining or saying anything he simply pulled Lifty his feet (being he had fallen into the crevice) and dusted him off angrily.

Out of all the people taken aback by Flippy's actions though, it was Flaky. She could begin to comprehend why, after all these years, Flippy chose now to break the ice and...stand up for her. It was mind-blowing, unrealistic even. And just the look he gave her, well, Flaky was still a teenage girl and she could feel the heat flaming now in her face probably as bright as her hair. His words echoed in her mind, words of, dare she say it, concern? It felt to good to be true.

"I-I..." Flaky swallowed, pinning her red hair anxiously behind her ear. "I'm o-okay." Flaky finally spat out before having the doors to the bus finally opening, signaling the students on board that it was time for school to start.

  • Author

Flippy waited behind for Splendid, who was still awestruck. He motioned for them to leave, the busdriver growing impatient. "We should go, shouldn't we," He gave a weak chuckle, still watching as Splendid stared at him. He saw Giggles and Petunia and the rest of the gang outside of the bus already, waiting for them to get off. Giggles was impatient, frowning deeply as she continued to glare at him through the window. He knew that he'd get an earful from her when he got out there, but he was able to ignore her easily. (Which, for a normal person, was actually a very difficult task to accomplish.) Petunia didn't look as furious, but then again, she was more easygoing. "Splendid?"

~

Lammy, her tears dry, smiled at Flaky kindly, twiddling her fingers together as she always did. "Hey," She called sweetly, lowering her violet eyes to the sidewalk for a brief second. "thanks for standing up for me like that..." She said quietly, tapping her fingers against the strap of her bag.

"Yeah," Sniffles chimed in, snorting a bit. "I've never seen you do that for anyone before."

"But," Lammy inhaled, blushing a bit. "That Flippy guy... He helped you out too, didn't he...?" Her crush on Flippy showed a bit as her face turned red at the mentioning of his name.

Splendid blinked, his navy blue eyes refocusing on Flippy's glinting emerald orbs. He still had that appealing look in his eye making the teen swallow the remaining saliva in his mouth as he ran quickly up the aisle of the bus, flashing Flippy a smile, and running past him while grabbing his wrist and pulling him after him down the steps of the yellow vehicle. He stopped in his tracks though once he came face to face with Giggles, her arms crossed firmly over her chest. She looked as if she was debating on yelling at Flippy or Splendid. After a few moments she reach out and much to Splendid's dismay pinched the skin of his ear, dragging him behind her.

"Do you realize that because you didn't think to stop your wart throb friend over there now your reputation and more importantly mine is at risk?! He's your responsibility Splendid. Don't think for a minute that just because you're a star player for the Basketball Team that we won't hesitate to shun you!" Giggles growled, fighting to come up with reasons to scold Spendid. She had more complaints for Flippy but she knew better than to do anything towards him. He could be quite...intimidating when the opportunity called for it.

~

Flaky was surprised by how she was thanked by Lammy and only shook her head smiling gently in return, feeling humbled by the credit given to her by Sniffles. She hadn't dome much, really. She hadn't even managed to hold her ground before Shifty...But, she supposed it was still nice to hear this from people who she hoped to one day consider her friends.

"Ah...it was nothing." She murmured. But when Lammy continued she found herself thinking even more. Flaky realized that Lammy was right, Flippy had assisted her. But why was the nagging question? Perhaps a change of heart? Or maybe just an act of "Hey, we're even. You don't bother me and I don't bother you."

"H-He did...didn't he?" The thought alone made her smile with slight happiness that she knew she was being naive in thinking would last.

  • Author

Flippy couldn't help but scowl at Giggles as he dragged Splendid along. What the firetruck was she pulling him away for? He hadn't done a thing; he didn't deserve the scolding he was getting right now. "Hey," He called to Giggles coldly, slapping her delicate hand away. "don't yell at him like that when he didn't do anything wrong. You're supposed to set an example for the rest of us, so you should start doing what you're supposed to instead of acting like a spoiled brat." He glared at her from under the slight shadow of his beret and his bangs, some other bystanders around them turning and looking at what was happening. His eyes looked almost pale gold from under the foreboding shadow, the sun glinting slightly off his eyelashes and his pale complexion, giving him a false glow. Petunia felt the urge to swoon, but she bit her lip, knowing that Flippy was right. Although Giggles was her friend, she knew that what she was doing right now was wrong.

~

"You'd be pretty lucky if he liked you, I mean," Lammy glanced over at Flippy and his crowd, admiring the way he looked in the sunlight. "he's kinda cute," Truffles nudged Lammy, making her squeak slightly. That was Lammy... Always fawning over the cool kids and all their glory. She didn't do anything to help boost her own status, as much as she wanted to fit in. She couldn't bring herself to make eye contact with the popularity layer above hers. It was like they were lower than dirt in a society made completely of savages. There was almost no way to change your reputation... But for Flaky, this could be a big break. Flippy almost seemed like he cared for her back there.

Splendid rubbed his ear as Flippy managed to hit Giggles' hand away, the esh a bit sore from where she had dug her fingers into it. He could feel it throbbing slightly as he held the side of his head to look at Flippy but that made the throbbing all the more worse except it was now I'm his chest region as his heart skipped a couple of beats. His eyes glinted something close to a dull gold and his skin had an ethereal glow to it making him look almost godly if you would.

"F-Flippy, it's fine, really." He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck as they continued to walk and he locked his gaze to the side walk, knowing full well he wouldn't be walking into anything anytime soon. He wasn't that much of an idiot. At least by his standards anyway.

Giggles gave an irritated glare as she debating on slapping Flippy or not for the rudeness displayed. She decided the better of it, instead twirling around to link arms with Petunia and walk into the school with their crowd following after them like an over sized shadow. She'd deal with Flippy some other time.

~

Flaky flushed a dusty shade of pink for what had to be the tenth time this week as she followed Lammy's gaze to Flippy who was looking fairly attractive as he bask in the sunlights glow. Unbelievable. There was no way the bad-boy heart-throb could ever fall for a Loser. No, not in any day to ever pass her by. It just wasn't possible! She shook her head, sparing a glance in Lammy's direction.

"I-It's not possible Lammy. He'd n-never, not for the likes of me in th-this state." Flaky admitted, tossing her red hair before walking quickly ahead in hopes of reaching her locker before getting ambushed by another hord of kids and maybe even the twins and their gang. God knows she didn't need that right now.

Flippy reluctantly followed his friend to homeroom, though they planned to skip the next class, just to talk and maybe hang out under the bleachers for old time's sake. (That dated back to freshman year where they'd always go during lunch.) He looked back at Giggles, who was still irritated at the two of them, but hid behind her flock of adorin fans. Typical. The green-haired teen gave a small 'tch,' shaking his head. "What a bitch," He scoffed, putting his hands in his jeans pockets, walking alongside Splendid nonchalantly. "She really didn't have to do that, you didn't--" As he looked back at Splendid, he noticed that some of his hair was red. He paused, moving aside some blue strands of hair behind his ear with his feather-light fingertips. "You're bleeding, y'know." He cooed, sympathy in his tone. Flippy could've expected as much from her; Giggles's nails were sharper than a hawk's talons.

No one else was in homeroom with Flaky besides Lifty and Shifty. Oof, this couldn't end well... Not after she stood up to him like that. Lifty was the first to speak up. "You," He said simply, seemingly disgusted to be in her presence. "Who do you think you are, getting defensive like that? Didn't your parents ever tell you not to stick your nose in other people's business?" He mocked, a wild smirk crossing his face, stray pieces of green hair falling in and around his face, making a natural curve around his cheeks and flipping out into stylish spikes in the back.

Splendid swallowed hard, feeling his heart warm at the rare tone of sympathy in Flippy's voice. In all of Splendid's years of knowing the quick-witted and stoic I-don't-give-a-damn teen he had only heard that concerned coo once or twice, give or take, from him. Truth was, Flippy wasn't usually one to show care. So when he stopped Splendid to point out that he was bleeding behind his prevously pinched ear (credit going to Giggles) the bluenette was both pleased and shocked. Today seemed to be a first for everything with Flippy.

"I-It's fine." Splendid protested, smiling that adorable lopsided grin of his. He was unintentionally cute and didn't even know it. His mum often called it a curse. His dad often called it a good way to get some go time. It amazed him how his parents were even married for all these years with no hints of a divorce showing through. "It's just a scratch, nothing I can't handle." Despite his words of reassurance, Splendid flinched as he brought shaking fingers up to feel the tender injury.

Flaky stopped in her tracks at the sight of the twins, both of whom looked equally as pissed off from being so blatantly man-handled. Especially from someone shorter than them to. It was embarrassing and all but smashed their dignity. Shifty turned around in his desk, lolling his head back with a thin line on his lips as he turned to see Flaky. She whimpered, taking an unnecessary step back to her chair, hitting her hip against the edge of the desk. Shifty's frown formed into a smirk identical to Lifty's without a second wasted as Lifty began is small insults sending Flaky into a wave of stuttering.

"I-I...Y-You were just...L-Lammy..."

"I-I, Y-You, can you do anything other than stutter and remain useless?" Shifty sneered, leaning on the back of his chair lazily--emerald eyes hooded with disinterest--his comments rolling of his tongue like butter. It was almost natural for him to be so rude to someone he disliked. It required the slightly older twin no effort whatsoever.

Flippy's gaze softened, though his smile still cocky and knowing, as always. He gave a light chuckle of amusement, nudging Splendid's arm with his elbow playfully. "Of course," He replied as they walked down the hallways. The duo recieved the same morning greetings as last year, which mostly included high-fives for Splendid and brofists for Flippy. He wasn't surprised that the students of Happy Tree High remembered his or Splendid's face; they were well-known throughout the entire town. And seeing the two together was nothing new. It was like they were two halves of a whole--one couldn't go on without the other.

Lifty laughed snidely at his brother's comment, deciding to add more fuel to the fire. "And getting that Flippy dude to help out... You're such a tool. Did you suck his cock to get him to do that?" He, like his brother, was harsh with his insults, and barely had anything nice to say about anyone except his twin. They weren't afraid to say what they meant in the boldest way possible. This included around authority figures and parents. But, similar to Splendid and Flippy, they considered themselves like yin and yang.

Splendid smiled, watching Flippy calming greet his old friends/admirers that's ere good enough to be remembered--just not hung out with. Splendid couldn't help but internally laugh in their faces, something much unlike his usual mannerisms. He was the one who hung out with Flippy everyday during the Summer and after school whether it was to play a round of shooting hoops or to do homework and attempt studying (which usually ended in watching some movie). He was the one who could get away with playful touches and hugs and things that, had no one known they were best friends, may have been mistaken for flirtatious moves. Splendid was the only one whom Flippy let in and told everything about. He hated to say it but he was living every girl's dream of knowing Flippy.

"Hey, so..." Splendid paused, looking around to make sure no one important that hadn't been on the bus was listening as he gave another casual high five. "What was that all about with you and...Flaky this morning." Now don't get him wrong, he had nothing extremely personal against Flaky. But when she and Flippy had been close friends he had been jealous of how close the two had been. It was almost more so than he and Flippy himself. He hoped that didn't happen again.

Flaky flushed a deep crimson, eyes beginning to tear up as she shook her head, falling into her seat. How could they even say that? She would never, ever, sink so low as to do something so vulgar. Not to mention, Flippy would have never allowed it. Hell he probably would have cut off her tongue or something.

"B-But I wouldn't...I swear I had n-no clue he'd do that." She pleaded, small quakes ricocheting off her body externally as Shifty stood up, leaning on the desk with one hand while taking his spot next to Lifty. It amused him how bashful she was getting. The little whore probably thought she was being cute and innocent. Well to him she was being the very epitome of a useless slut with the exception that she was far from pretty or anything close to attractive, unlike himself and his twin, Shifty thought, sparing a quick look over to Lifty.

"Right, and you didn't know you'd get fame and admiration among you're little retard Loser friends either for standing up to upper crust students right? Right Flaky~?" Shifty said her name with disgust, drawling out his accusations slowly.

Flippy took a breath, holding it in as he paused in his tracks, thinking for a while. He knew exactly why he had done that for Flaky, but should he really tell Splendid? He bit the inside of his lip cautiously, feeling his shoulders rise on their own into a believably indecisive shrug. Flippy locked gazes with his blue-eyed friend, his attitude a bit heavier than usual. "Well... I dunno, I guess I just pitied her... Or something," Flippy knew too much about Splendid; including how he got jealous surprisingly easily. Flippy spent a lot of time with Splendid, and he didn't want to risk losing such a beautiful friendship with him all because of a stupid girl. Flippy tugged on his friend's sleeve, chuckling ruefully up at him, his lips curving into a perfect dream of a smile. "Just forget about it, okay? It was nothing."

Lifty observed his brother admirably, slinging a careful arm over Shifty's shoulder, leaning against him slightly. He loved how stupid and humiliated Flaky looked right now... With her eyes watering, her cheeks pink, and her body tensed up like a frightened dog. The twins drank up her reaction proudly, enjoying making her suffer. "C'mon, Flaky. You should know by now that we'll always be one step ahead of you, so why bother?" He gave her a devious grin, his green eyes giving off an amused sparkle of malice. "Stop getting in the way."

((Oh Lifty and Flippy how I love thee xD))

Relief flooded through Splendid's entire nervous system as his body loosened up considerably from his tense form. He should have known Flippy wouldn't have done something like that because he liked Flaky (like Spelndid had regrettably suspected). He felt himself soar miles into the air though when Flippy gave him that adorable smile. That was another thing the bluenette appreciated about their friendship--he was the only one to ever get such a genuine smile from Flippy.

"Ah, alright. I was just curious." Splendid admitted with a smile in return, completely oblivious as to how Flippy's answer to his question had been a little forced and the attitude side. Instead, he slyly linking their arms together as he began to talk wildly to him about an event he hadn't gotten time to tell Flippy on the bus, demonstrating it all with dramatic hand movements as they trudged in front of their HomeRoom door. Another thing he could get away with. If anyone else were to try doing that to Flippy, well, he'd surely slap them or maybe go as far as to cut their arm off depending on the person, nit that anyone other than Splendid was stupid enough to try it.

Shifty's grin grew even wider as his brother's touch was recognized by his body, an arm delicately around his shoulders and Lifty's body pressed ever so slightly against his own. Still giving a sneer in Flaky's direction, he slid an arm behind Lifty's back to rest on his waist/where his hip began to curve slightly.

"Yeah, and maybe, just maybe--if we're feeling generous--we'll leave you alone. I'd rather not waste my valuable time on such a worthless piece of space like you. It's a horrible use of oxygen on my behalf to even be speaking to you." Shifty added, chiming in with Lify.

Flaky sunk into her seat in the corner, lower lip quivering as she bit it, feeling te pressure of her actions on the bus come back to her in the form of cruel words. She hadn't meant to do anything wrong. She just wanted to stop a friend from getting embarrassed and upset. What if the brothers were in that position? Surely one would stand up fir the other! Not that Flaky would ever say it though, age was tk afraid of what they might say to crush what little remained of her self-esteem. Bowing her head ad fumbling with her hands in her lap, Flaky gave a small: "I'm sorry" before letting a few hot tears slip down her reddened cheek. She thank the gods that her clip-tamed, red hair was hiding her glassy, amber eyes.

No one but Splendid knew that Flippy was an exceptional listener either. Ususally he'd just ignore whatever someone has to say, but with Splendid, he loved to listen. Maybe he just liked the sound of his voice or something, but whatever it was, it compelled him to want to listen. Sadly enough, Splendid and Flippy weren't in the same homeroom. If they were, Flippy would want him to continue, but right now he couldn't. Flippy turned to Splendid as he was in mid-sentence, pressing a nimble finger to the blue-haired male's lips to silence him for a second. "You talk too much," he said bluntly, though with love. Flippy lowered his voice to that deep, husky tone all the girls loved. (Really, he only ever uses that voice around Splendid.) He nodded his head towards the open door behind him. "I have to go... But I'll listen to you next period, okay?"

Lifty leaned on his brother's free shoulder, speaking quietly so Flaky wouldn't hear him. "Then don't talk to her," he said softly, giving his twin a wild, devious grin. "She's a waste of time."

Splendid went slightly cross-eyed as his navy blue eyes focused on Flippy's delicate finger pressed to his lips, immediately shutting him up. As Flippy spoke though, with his darker tone (making Splendid shiver with delight as goosebumps rose on his skin) he swallowed, blush rising on his face again. He hated doing that unless his cheeks were red from training so hard that he was exhausted. His friend was right however. He did have to go; his homeroom was right behind them, making the athletic teen frown. He didn't feel like waiting till next period...even if it was only a matter of 15 minutes to wait.

"Fine..." Splendid sighed, running a hand through his dark hair, which fell perfectly back into place, and stepped back, leaving Flippy's finger to hush the air. "See you in a few then." Splendid waved, walking down the hall a little bit with a slight glance behind his shoulder before he came into his own homeroom.

Shifty looked down at Lifty, biting his lip to stifle his snicker. In the end it was always Lifty who somewhat listened to him. He smirked slighty, thinking how lucky he was to not be the lowest crust like Flaky. After all, if him and his brother had been he would have been far more ridiculed for what he was about to do if anyone saw. He flashed dangerous green eyes towards Flaky's frame, licking his lips wet with another insult.

"Hey Flaky," He couldn't resist. Tilting up Lifty's chin he ghosted a breath over his twins lips, smirking malevolently. Just as he was about to pull the pun on the timid girl (and shock Lifty with a kiss) he froze, eyes focused onto the doorway behind Flaky. Standing in it was Flippy.

"Shit..." He cursed, glaring irritably at the teen who still had his back turned to them. For the longest time, as far back as Shifty could remember, Flippy had been in his homeroom. He supposed this year wasn't an exception. As such he reluctantly broke away from his twin, oddly quiet as he slumped into his seat, burning a hole through the tiled floor with his frustrated stare.

Flaky rose her head when she heard her name called again but said nothing, not wanting to humiliate herself even more. It was bad enough being called a waste of space--what else could the twin say to ruin her already horrid morning? The red head was surprised though to find that the insult never came to her. Instead, as she looked up, she found a very put out and stubborn looking Shifty in his seat instead of next to Lifty like he had been just a few moments ago. Crinkling her brow she considered asking why but decided against it, leaning over the side of her desk to rummage through her book bag. As she did so she found what it was that had apparently intimidated the teen to silence. A pair of combat boots in the frame of the entrance to the class room caught her eye and one thought rang out on her mind. It was Flippy.

Flippy watched as Splendid left, a slight tinge of pink in his cheeks. He waved to him half-heartedly as Splendid glanced back at him, going into homeroom as the bell rang. He was met with the normal kids sitting in homeroom, along with some people he was familiar with. He eyed Flaky, noticing that her face was wet with tears and her eyes on him for a second. Just across the way was Shifty and Lifty sitting stubbornly in their seats, holding hands under the desks, but looking frustradedly at the ground. He gave a 'hm,' happy that he had scared them into stopping. Intimidating Lifty and Shifty, or anyone for that matter, was definitely something he could get used to.
