Flippy blinked. 'Nothing she couldn't handle'? There was a lot she couldn't handle, and abuse was one of them. He tried not doubting her, but it was useless. "Are...you sure?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow. "I'd be more than happy to help you if you were feeling intimidated." He said, hinting a deeper meaning to his words. What he really meant was on the lines of: "I'd be more than happy to kick their asses for you."

Flaky smiled appreciatively, giving a light shrug. She felt pathetic for not being able to handle such petty insults from two people that she probably would never see again past high-school anyway. Absentmindedly, her hand slipped under the table to reach into her pocket, crunching up the note she had just received this morning in Homeroom along with a pair of evil smirks that screamed that if she made a wrong move they'd go through with what they meant.

"I guess...the overall note thing I can handle but what's written in them sometimes aren't as easy...to block out." She admitted, a frown seeping across her face. "A lot of the times their words are enough to scare me," Flaky gave a short laugh but it was evident the humor was absent from the sound. "But I guess you get used to glancing o-over your shoulder ever minute or so..."

Flippy felt so bad for her. She was practically living in fear because of them, and he felt his gaze soften at that. He hated to think that Lifty and Shifty were sick enough to do something so sinister. What exactly were they writing to her? And why was she their target? Out of all the other kids in the school, they had to choose her? It just didn't make sense to him. He didn't exactly see why Lifty and Shifty took so much pleasure in torturing her like that. "That's terrible." Maybe he was inclined to take care of them for her.

Flaky gave a gentle nod, her hair following the motion. It was terrible. She personally didn't think it was fair she was being treated so badly. She really hadn't done anything to them, or tried to anyway, and she wished they'd in all honesty leave her alone. That they'd disappear from her life. Of course she didn't want them to die or anything but be moved to classes where they wouldn't affect/see her.

"I just don't understand why they're so mean to me....they say it's because I influenced the others to stand up to them but I-I didn't...I wasn't trying to...start anything." Flaky said softly, a hint of regretacing her voice.

He smiled at her, like he was trying to reassure her that everything was going to be okay as long as she was with him. "I'm sure you weren't. But to them, everyone is an enemy. They hate what they fear... Meaning that they don't want to be hated themseves, so they do what they can to be a part of the cool crowd. Don't worry about them. They're scum." He hissed on that last word, some darkness hinted in his tone. He really didn't like them at all, but then again, wouldn't hating them make him all the same? Of course not. He had nothing to thrive for or to desire in terms of status.

Flaky was shocked by the meaning of the words spoken to her from Flippy. She hadn't expected something like that coming from Flippy, not to someone who He had just befriended only days ago. He was relate serious about this friendship thing wasn't he?

"Sc-Scum is going a little too far isn't it? I mean...s-sure they're mean but...but they've probably got stuff to deal with to that makes ten act this way. Not that it's any excuse or anything but still..." Flaky couldn't even believe herself and the words that tumbled out of her mouth. She supposed she just felt like she had to say what was right or reason in her eyes. But she did greatly appreciate what Flippy was saying for her. He cared.

Flippy shrugged, giving her another soft smile before packing up his things, getting ready to go. Surely, he'd meet Splendid again and they'd talk... Like always. But he was looking forward to it. "Could be." He murmered. Which was a possibility. After all, he didn't know much about the two besides their cruelty towards anyone who they disliked.

In seeing that he was getting ready to leave Flaky panicked. She had almost forgotten about what she had wanted to ask him but had failed to do so yesterday. Hurriedly grabbing her stuff, Flaky's cheeks heated as she lowered her gaze to the floor, afraid to meet Flippy's gaze just in case he gave her a weird look.

"A-Ah, Flippy! I was wondering if...m-maybe you'd...well if maybe you'dliketorehearsewithmeafterschooltodayortommorow!" She jabbered out, speaking so fast she wasn't sure she even understood herself speaking.

Flippy blinked, a bit stunned at the speed of which she had said that. He laughed, patting her head softly. "If you're free later today, I could. What's your number so I can text you?" He asked, taking out a piece of paper and a pen to jot down her number. He didn't mind rehearsing with her at all. As long as it meant time with her and a good grade, he was all for it. He didn't know if others would approve of it, but truthfully... Not only did he not care what people said about him, but he also didn't have to tell the inconsiderate ones like Giggles or Petunia.

Flaky looked up before smiling softly; genuinely. She really shouldn't be so doubtful of Flippy, she decided. He was really nicer than she ever gave him credit to be. Fumbling with her phone in her pocket, she pulled it out, scrolling through her contacts till she came to her own. She'd admit it, she couldn't remember her own number for the life of her. Probably because she was so flustered and worried with everything else she had to do half the time.

"R-Really? Uh, i-it's 732-594-3724...Just text or call whenever so I can send you the direction and stuff..." She explained, feeling her happiness bubble inside of her shine through her amber ecru eyes. Not because she was happy he was coming over because, well, he was Flippy and half of the female student body had a crush on him. But because she was glad to actually have someone come to her house to hang out. The first person in about 3-4 years really...

"No problem," He waved to her as the bell rang, heading out into the hallway to wait for Splendid to come. He was excited to wait for him... And he'd be more excited to see him. He was definitely past the whole 'tension' thing, and not to mention he was happy that they had discussed their crushes on each other so that they could feel a bit more comfortable with making physical contact with each other.

Splendid was there in a heartbeat, this time vein sure to skid to a stop this time accurately and right in from of Flippy at home. May it be noted he also had a band-aid on his nose. Was it because he been practicing his running and stopping encounter in the kitchen last night, failed and slammed his nose into the kitchen's marble counter? No, of course not. That'd be ridiculous.

"Heeeelloooo~ How are you today?" The bluenette asked, back to his normal chopper self that he hadn't been yesterday. He to had learned to be content with Flippy simply liking him and decided he'd make the most of it this time.

  • Author
"I'm fine so far... You seem happy yourself." He said, looking up at him, only to notice the band-aid over his nose. He was careful not to touch it or anything, but it was making him curious. "Oh... What happened to your nose?" He asked, giving a sympathetic smile. It was just like Splendid to get into some kind of clumsy accident or predicament. He imagined it being during practice or something, but he might be wrong.

Splendid's face internally drained of color as he dead panne knowing for a fact Why he had gotten hurt. Okay...so maybe he had been practicing. Flippy didn't need to know that, not at all. Grinning, he slung an arm around Flippy's shoulder, laughing.

"My mom mopped thefloor while I ran in to get a snack and I banged my nose against the counter." He admitted (which was only half of a lie) and he shrugged as if it were no big deal. "I've had worse during basketball practice Its no big deal I guess."

  • Author
"Oh... If you're sure." He said, shrugging as he kissed the bridge of Splendid's nose, just to be cute. He could vaguely see a bit of red peeking out from under his band-aid, signifying that it was just a bit swollen, but nothing to be totally worried over. He let out a sigh before sliding his jacket off of his shoulders easily, tying it around his waist momentarily. "Damn... The air conditioner just had to break on the hottest day of the year, didn't it?" He slung his bag over his shoulder, making sure it wouldn't fall off. After all, he was carrying a lot of books, and he couldn't afford to drop them.

Splendid nodded, wiping his forehead of the perspiration collecting on the skin. It was true. With everything this school could afford you'd think they'd be somewhat able to pay for a good air conditioning system. But no, they'd rather let their students drop dead from a heat stroke or something. They didn't care.

"I know right? Practice is cancelled cause of how hot it is. I hate it." He murmured. Although, if their was one plus it was seeing Flippy with his jacket off for once. Yeah he'd take one of those to go please.

Flippy nodded, running his fingers through his hair, pushing up his bangs so that they were adjusted on his hair, keeping it there with a clip. (Yes, he carried clips around.) That was just to keep his hair out of his face so he wouldn't sweat any more than he already was. He knew he should've worn shorts or capris today...

He remembered to tell Splendid about Flaky. "Oh, and just a heads-up, I can't hang out after school today... I'm rehearsing with Flaky." Too bad he remembered Splendid's horrible jealousy problems after he said that.

Splendid was just about to comment on how cute Flippy looked when he had his bangs out of his face like that and give him a quick kiss on the forehead when he continue to speak. He was...hanging out...with Flaky today? He was planning on asking him to chill with him after school because he had no practice and wanted to keep himself busy instead of lonely. Looks like he was going to be lonely.

"O-Oh. What're you rehearsing?" He asked, half as happy as he was before. He knew that Flippy and Flaky had become friends and that wasn't a problem but now that it was taking away from his hang out time. Well, that kinda sucked. Hasn't Flippy ever heard the number one rule in the Guys Handbook? Bros Before Hoes? Then again that wasn't entirely true. Flaky wasn't a hoe and they weren't going out or anything but still...

"A stupid script... I don't know how long it'll take, but I want to get a good grade, so I'd rather practice all I can," He explained, trying not to sound like he wanted to upset Splendid or anything. "But if you want," For once, he wasn't afraid to hold Splendid's hand in public, which made him blush a bit. "I guess... maybe we can skip later," He suggested. There was a lot of things he wanted to talk to him about, even if some of them were a bit personal. But what were best friends for, anyways?

Splendid scratched his cheek, giving a barely noticeable blush as he held Flippy's hand back fearlessly. When the teen acted like that how was Splendid supposed to stay mad? Flippy really didn't know what kind of soft spot Splendid had for him...honestly.

"Well I guess we can." He replied finally, giving a smile as his heart fluttered about, making him supress a Nutty-like giggle. He wouldn't mind skipping again with Flippy, not if he got to be with teen alone anyway.

"Good," He did what he had done yesterday, giving Splendid a soft kiss on the edge of his lips before parting ways with him... For now. "I guess I'll see you later," Almost right after he had turned the corner to make his way to his next period class, he was met with a vibration in his pocket, signifying a text. It was from Petunia... Oh good Lord. Don't even tell me.

I saw that.

If you spread it around school, I'll break your neck.

「(゚ペ) Sir, yes sir~

((Pfft, that conversation=priceless))

While Flaky watched Flippy and Splendid go their separate ways as she headed past them to get to Lunch she wasn't to pleased to see a familiar duo leaned against the lockers by the cafeteria with ease. She had seen that position and look before. Like they owned that school, like they owned that whole entire hallway. Holding he head down she walked quickly past them, feeling Shifty's burning glare erode an acid drenched hole into her back.

Just ignore them and they'll go away, just ignore them and they'll go away. The thought to herself desperately, squeezing her eyes shut as she advanced towards the entrance to the Lunch Room quickly, tripping slightly over her own two feet.

For once, the twins ceased to bother, moving on to where they were supposed to be. (Reluctantly, might I add.) Surprisingly, they had other things to deal with... Not just tormenting her. They did, however, continue to whisper about her and make fun of her behind her back as she walked, giving forth their signature laughs a few times.

Flippy was watching from afar, biting his lip to refrain punching them both. Let it go, Flippy... Let it go... They'll get theirs. He nonchalantly walked past them, cracking his knuckles all the while.

Flaky was surprised to not see or hear any brash comments about herself from Lifty or Shifty. That was....new of them. She still heard their signatures snickers though and their incoherent whispers which made her self-esteem drop a bit lower, her insecurity rising. Shed rather have things said to her face rather than behind her back. It just...hurt less she supposed.

Sighing, she leaned against the wall outside of the cafeteria and looked to the ceiling in thought. It'd be another of sitting with Russell, Lammy, and Sniffles. But she's noticed that Lammy has been getting more and more confident since her little incident. She knew the girl was still her friend but she wasn't as shy. Flaky was debating on if it was a good thing or not.

"Dilly dally, shilly shally..."

Flippy spent the remaider of his next class either textingor doodling. He drew mostly just generic things -- faces, Homestuck characters, hands, stars, etc... He fiddled around with his hair or his necklace a few times. So many distractions... He hated it. Sitting next to Nutty wasn't helping at all, either. He was forces to deal with his obnoxious giggling, the smell of different sweets (even though you weren't allowed to eat in class, it was a rule Nutty often violated), and the constant thought of Splendid plaguing his mind. The main thing he wanted to tell Splendid was that, of course, his mum would be out on a business trip for some time, and that he'd be free almost any day, and of course... He wanted to simply be near him.
