"If I could write you a song,

and make you fall in love,

I would already have you up under my arm.

I used to pull all my tricks,

I hope that you like this.

but you probably won't,

you think you're cooler than me."

Splendid's navy blue eyes slipped open as his ringtone for Flippy sounded throughout his living room, the voice of Mike Posner echoing throughout the room. Lazily stretching his hand over, the bluenette carefully flipped open the phone and rubbed his eyes, stretching slightly from his nap. His back cracked just barely making him flinch but he's dealt with worse before.

"Hello?" He asked with a smile on his face. He couldn't wait to hear Flippy's voice spud through the speaker on the other end of his phone.

Flippy heard Splendid's distinctive voice and immediately brightened up, responding with a smile, although he couldn't see it through the phone. "Hey," Flippy shyly played with the hem of his shirt, trying to say something that wouldn't make him sound too pushy. "Sorry I took so long. If you're still free to meet up, then I'm all set." Flippy stood up from his sitting place, taking his hat off and wiping some sweat off his forehead with his arm.

Splendid sat up, much more awake than before and grinned ear to ear, already getting up with his coat slung onto his forearm.

"Course I wanna chill with you. Where are you? I'll mee t you there." Splendid stated happily, walking out the door with a wave to his mom in the kitchen. She knew him well enough to know he wasn't going to gallopvante off to a party of the sorts or do drugs. She knew the only one who could get her son up and out of a nap like that (other than herself) was Flippy.

Flippy began walking already, the dim of the sunset becoming faint, tinting the sky a light pink with a mix of golden. It was already getting dark... It'd be dark enough to call it "night time" pretty soon. He looked to the sky and then back at the pavement, beginning to walk faster. He was, dare he admit it, a little bit...afraid of the dark. Or at least when someone wasn't with him.

"I'm right outside my neighborhood... Everyone is gone, so it's just me. But hurry up... it's getting kinda dark out,"

Splendid could sense the slight urgency in Flippy's voice and nodded, beginning a heavy jog towards Flippy's direction. It was getting fairly dark out. He himself didn't have much of an issue with the dark. He had adapted to it's silence and lack of allowed vision after playing many practices in such condition. Not saying he was in love with the night but he could handle it.

"I'll be right there." After a moment of hesitation and jogging which was quickly turning into a run he continued. "Do you want me to stay on with you while you wait...or will you be okay?"

Flippy had noticed that he was still on the phone with Splendid and blinked. It was funny... he hadn't been speaking to him in over 13 seconds, and yet he still acknowledged his presence. Flippy smiled at that, brushing off Splendid's question. "Ah, no, I should be fine. I'll see you soon." He hung up after that, sitting on the sidewalk outside another one of the abandoned houses. Half of the homes in Flippy's neighborhood weren't even occupied... Probably because they were so expensive, and not many people had the money at the moment. After all, rarely were there wealthy residents in Happy Tree.

((Have you heard about the serial killer in LBI?))

((I wonder if Lifty and Shifty would count as wealthy xD))

Splendid smiled at the calm tone in Flippy's voice even when he knew the surroundings the teen was most likely in would put any other kid in a pit of a panic mode. Being in a neighborhood, even a rich one, at night or with night approaching was scary. And that was mostly because of the neighborhood. One; it was mostly empty. Two; even if someone was getting killed or kidnapped or whatever--unless it concerned them--people kept to their own business.

In a few minutes he turned the block to see Flippy and he was jogged the last bit of distance to the green hair teen, pulling him into a warm hug. He was oddly affectionate, even if Splendid had seen him just a few hours ago at school. He couldn't help it as he buried his nose in the crook of Flippy's neck. He missed him.

"Hello again," He sighed, looking down at Flippy with happy blue eyes.

Flippy was a bit surprised by the sudden action, but held him close in exchange. He had missed Splendid too. Letting go for a moment, he pulled himself to his feet, standing up only a bit shorter than Splendid, smiling back up at the bluenette. "Hey... So," He took Splendid's hand again (no one could see them anyhow), and continued to make eye contact, no matter how unfitting this setting was. A grubby neighborhood, broken down homes everywhere, a few dumpsters tipped over and ransacked by the Twins, and, of course, the night-time background staining the sky. Perhaps the dimming sunset was the only romantic aspect. "You wanna just walk some more, or should we," Flippy hesitated, realizing how misleading this was...

He blushed. Everyone was out. Just them. Oh Christ, he hadn't even realized it. But, no turning back now. "just go back and chill?"

((The hell were Lifty and Shifty doing in the dumpsters xD?))

Splendid held Flippy's hand back, intertwining their fingers. He dint mind that it was sunset and that they were the only two around--he just would rather be chilling at Flippy's house. No one would be home and it'd be better than his own home where his mom would be watching them like a hawk, killing all chances of giving kisses. Yes it'd be better to hang at Flippy's and do whatever they wanted.

"We should go back to your house," Splendid said softly, smile still evident on his face as he pulled the green haired teen lazilly in the general direction. And it wad then, while he began to think about snuggling up go Flippy while watching a movie, sharing a blanket and a bowl of popcorn, that it struck Flippy the things that should be happening. Just them. In a house. Alone. Until Flippy's mom came back about a week later. He blushed darkly.

"What--uh--what do you want to do to at your house?" Splendid asked with a small gulp.

He blushed in return, trying to keep calm as he suppressed all thoughts that he threatened to blurt out loud. He walked along with Splendid anyways, thinking that even if they did wind ip doing it again, it's not like it'd be completely evident. The hickeys on his neck were still there, and everyone at school firetrucking knew. His mother was gone, so there was no way of her finding out yet. Flippy smiled shyly.

"W-Well, I was thinking maybe just a movie or something," Followed up by lusty, kinky, obnoxious se- "unless you had other plans, that is..." Flippy found himself twirling a piece of his hair around his finger like some kind of pathetic lovestruck schoolgirl.

((Lol at the thoughts in italics xD))

Splendid shook his head, swinging his and Flippy's arm back and forth gently. He adored the way he twirled his green hair around his fingers and he couldn't wait tocuddle with him while watching a movie. The thought made him want to hug and hold Flippy close to his body right now until he could feel his heartbeat in rhythm with his own.

"Movie sounds fine actually. What do you want to see?" Splendid asked carefully letting his mind wander slightly as he thought how hot it'd be to have Flippy get aroused while watching a certain movie--No no! None of that! Splendid shook his head and the thoughts away, flipping his blue bangs out of his vision.

Flippy ruled out two choices already. Romance and Horror. Why horror? Because horror movies, especially the blood and guts kind (which Flippy owned an abundance of), scared Splendid shitless. And romance wasn't exactly Flippy's thing. Granted, he only owned a few, and most of them (the Notebook, Brokeback Mountain, etc,) belonged to his mother. Anything else was fine, save for the above two.

"Depends, I guess," He thought for a moment. For old times sake, he smiled and chuckled a bit at the same time. "Remember 'the Labyrinth' with David Bowie? I still have that one," he rememered how Flippy's mum had introduced that movie to them when they were little kids, and they've loved it ever since.

Splendid's eyes widened at the name of the familiar movie, his excitement suddenly sky rocketing. That movie was a classic. He remembered that was one of the first movies he and Flippy had actually enjoyed seeing together as opposed to Splendid screaming from Saw and Flippy falling asleep during any uninteresting flics Splendid liked. The Labyrinth wa the one movie they enjoyed, sung along to, and danced to without prevail every time.

"Do you really? We should defj itelg watch it Flippy~!" Splendid wouldn't take no for an answer, even if Flippy said he was "just kidding". Housing kid when you bring up The Labyrinth.

((EDIT: Sleepy time now~))

Flippy picked up the pace, trying to keep up with Splendid. His excitement must have sped up his walking pace, and Flippy was glad he was happy. Even though he was only joking, if Splendid wanted to see it so badly, then it was a given. Flippy chuckled lightly, giving him a winning smile. "If you want to, then I guess we could," he bargained, pretending like he wasn't nearly as excited as Splendid was, even though he was equally as hyped up.

"As long as we enjoy ourselves." Flippy gulped lightly at the thought of 'enjoing themselves' in more ways than one... Getting more passionate and vocal than they could outside of school, going at it for as long as they desi- Dammit, Flippy.... Pull yourself together. Now isn't the time to be thinking about something to profane.

Splendid looked overjoyed that theyd be watching Labyrinth at Flippy's house--that movie was beast! Some of his best memories cane from that film with his friend to. Like the conversations with the caterpillar in the beginning by the wall and the stupid voice impersonation Flippy did. And he couldn't forget how they jokingly compared the pink monkeys (that still scared Splendid just a bit) to Giggles, Petunia, and Cuddles. God times.

But it was when he noticed Flippy's slightly odd behavior that he slowed his walking pace, his grip on his fragile hand concerned. He was acting....nervous? Anxious? He couldn't quite decide.

"Hey, you okay~?"

((Today, Osama bin Laden was shot twice in the head and found dead outside Guantanamo Bay. It's a great day for America. We took down that terrorist like a boss.))

Flippy found himself daydreaming just a bit, but was brought back to reality by the sound of Splendid's voice. He locked eyes with him again, pulling him along so that they were on Flippy's porch. "I'm fine," he reassured him, coming to the door. "I was just staring into space," he gave a cute laugh, knowing full well that isn't what he was doing.

He fumbled around in his pockets, pulling out his house key to let them inside. The house was almost completely dark, save for a dim light bulb he failed to turn off on his way out. He flicked on the foyer light, which lead to the kitchen on the right. "You can go find the movie. It should be under the t.v.," he smiled back at him quickly. "I'll be making popcorn if you need me."

((The only thing I'm worried about is the retaliation from his followers and other terrorists D:))

Splendid nodded, sliding on Flippy's hardwood floors after slipping of his socks and lowering to his knees skillfully, stopping right in front of the tv. Oh yeah. He had skills. Actually, no he didn't. Splendid vaguely remember the last time he tried that and had crashed into the DVD rack. It wasn't fun having Flippy's mom make reorganize those discs and alphabetical order.

In just a few minutes he pulled out Labyrinth and smiled popping open the case to place the DVD in his friend's Blu-Ray player with ease. When the disc holder shut close with a small click that echoed throughout the living room it was then the emptiness finally seemed to register within Splendid's mind. They were alone and Flippy's mom wouldn't be returning for several days. Thoughts began to manifest in his mind and he bit his lip looking around.

"Hey Flippy, I'm going to do to the bathroom before the movie starts." Splendid called down to the kitchen, already on the top step upstairs of Flippy's house. But instead of making a left where the bathroom was, Splendid took a left--sneaking into the crap/miscellaneous room where everything was located.

Flippy agreed with a quick 'okay', waiting for the popcorn to finish cooking. He heard Splendid's footsteps trot up the stairs and let him be. Sure enough, the microwave sounded, signaling that the popcorn was ready. He gently pinched the edge of the bag, setting it down on the countertop. He opened it up, letting the steam exit the bag in a hot cloud. He dumped the popcorn in the bowl, putting it out in the living room.

Splendid came back down moments later, a smile still on his face as he plopped on the couch with Flippy, laying his head down on his lap. He looked up at Flippy with the cutest blue eyes he could muster, opening his mouth.

"Popcorn?" He asked, hitting the play button and Listening as the movie music rolled in, making him shiver in delight. He loved this movie so much. And watching it with Flippy made it even better.

Flippy smiled back, resting the bowl on Splendid's stomach like he was a coffeetable or something. "Yup." He replied, gently stroking Splendid's hair as the opening credits rolled in, leaning down to kiss his forehead. He vaguely wondered why Splendid took more time to go to the bathroom than he usually did, but brushed it off as nothing. He thought that it was probably just the new scented candles his mom put in there or something...

Splendid hummed pleasantly as the credits rolled in and he felt Flippy's intoxicating touch running through his hair. He unintentionally let out a tender moan, smiling as he watched "Sarah" recite lines from her red velvet playbook. He always wondered how hard it was to act while acting in a movie. I mean, you're already playing as one character so it's like playing as two characters in one movie. Ridiculous...

"Hey...did you ever notice David Bowie's spandex is way to tight on him? Like his junk comes through at all the wrong angles?" Splendid asked, uncontrollable giggles wracking his body as he saw the owl flutter on screen.

Flippy shook his head, laughing along with him reluctantly. It's not like Splendid at all to say something like that, even if they did get a little goofy while watching movies. "Is that really what you pay attention to? Pervert," He joked, scoffing slightly on that last word. He shifted his position, laying vertically down on the couch, not on the floor.

Splendid frowned as Flippy moved, his head was moved gently to the uncomfortable floor, looking up at him. He sighed and nearly rolled over, remembering last minute that the popcorn was on his stomach. Luckilynit was enough time for him to catch it and place it up by Flippy.

"That's okay. You weren't my pillow or anything. I'll just lay here on the cold floor. Alone. And cold."

Flippy turned over on his side, looking down at Splendid from his place on the couch, a slight smirk on his face. "You're free to come up here with me," He said, almost invitingly. "I wouldn't mind keeping you warm." He blushed a bit, noticing how unintentionally sexual that sounded. It's not like he minded, but... Y'know, still. If he took that the wrong way, it'd be kind of awkward.
