Flippy was clearly shocked. Usually Splendid doesn't skip unless Flippy asks him to... But he didn't mind if it was vice versa. Not to mention... Was he stuttering? Ignoring the small change in behavior, Flippy nodded curtly, letting Splendid take the lead. "Sure, I'd love to. So... where to?" He asked. There were many places for them to skip... The most comfortable places being outside or the audotorium. Then again, there was always the bathrooms, the roof (which was rarely accessible since the only passage there led through the principal's office), and just loitering in the hallway, which was risky because of teachers or tattle-tales.

Splendid paused, thinking for a moment. He knew Flippy loved being outside but he knew that there were classes outside today and the marching band would be practicing for a pep-rally set to take place later in the month to get everyone ready for the basketball team's first game. Which reminded him...

He didn't want to linger in the stuffy Auditorium nor did he feel like sitting in the hallways to get caught. But he was in the mood for a bit of risk so...

"The roof. The principal is out at a meeting so we'd just have to get past the secretaries--which shouldn't be to hard. If you're up for it of course~" Splendid teased, nudging Flippy gently in the ribs. He wouldn't lie. Every tease and taunt he gave to Flippy was the perfect excuse to touch him without being suspicious. Someday he'd take advantage of that.

Flippy rolled his eyes, flashing him a devious smirk. "Of course I'm up to it," Feeling a bit mischievous himself, he took Splendid's hand and led the way to the office, which was a short journey to the main hallway.

The secretaries didn't particularly like Flippy because of his frequent trips to the guidance office, which made him a bit of a trouble maker. It wouldn't be easy to get past them... But Splendid was known to be quick and tactical (the basketball obsession could do that to you). He was almost guaranteed safety near him... That made him happy, just thinking about it.

Splendid smiled, pausing before he came into the office. He looked at Flippy then at the secretaries then sighed, thinking of a quick plan. When one popped into his mind he snapped his fingers, navy eyes lighting up. This would be a piece of cake. Ducking down, he pulle Flippy to a kneeling position, speaking in a very hushed tone.

"I have a plan, just go with it. I need you to just sneak in and hide underneath the counter when he first walk in. Whatever you do from there, don't move and stay completely still no matter what." Splendid ordered carefully, motioning to the counter in the office. The way the room was set up, there was a main counter with one way around that lead straight to the back stairwell to the roof. Behind this counter was two cubicles for the two secretaries that were there. This would be a piece of cake.

As he opened the door slowly and quietly so the working women wouldn't notice he waited until Flippy was user the counter before setting his plan into action, back up and then running into the office suddenly very red and flustered--like he had been running half-way across the school.

"Hah, hah, M'am, there's a huge spill down the hallway from one of the water fountains. I can't find the janitor but someone slipped a-and hurt their head!" Immediately, like the ridiculous and dumb secretaries they were, the women said shouts of "oh my" and "let's hurry" as they quickly hopped up to leave the office. Splendid was sure to press his lower body closer to Flippy from under the counter so they wouldn't see him on their way out (praying to god he wasn't making him uncomfortable). Once out of earshot Splendid laughed.

"Piece. Of. Cake."

Flippy was impressed by how crafty Splendid was just now. Truthfully, he didn't know he could be that cunning. He smiled on their way up, passing a flight of stairs to get to the roof. They were up in no time, the heat of the sun beating down on the two as they entered the height of the roof.

The school itself was huge, and the roof covered the entire expanse of it. There were a few ledges here and there, but the entire thing was like looking upon a vast desert -- nothing but roof. It'd take quite a while to scale the entire thing, but Flippy had been walking all day. He wasn't gonna walk the whole thing. "Whoa." He commented, blinking twice quickly. "I forgot how nice the view up here was..."

He watched as the clouds somersaulted by, the light of the sky illuminating their outlines, making them glow. Flippy reached over a few inches, taking Splendid's hand again.

This time he didn't let go.

((That's adorable x333))

Splendid was slightly startled by the warm hand on his but mailed nonetheless, pulling Flippy down to sit down. It was really nce on the roof. It had been a while since they had first been here too. Though Splendid remembered it like yesterday. Maybe it had to do with the fact that it happened to be one of the best memories he's ever had a recollection of.

They had been Freshmen, only a few months into the year and it was already a brisk November. And for god knows what reason Flippy chose one of the most frigid days of the year to go up to the roof. And wouldn't you know it he complained he was cold. So what did the bluenette do? He warmed him up with a ticklefest of doom before they had just laid their together on their backs, Splendid hugging a shivering Flippy and vice-versa. Though it had been to warm up his best friend, Splendid strongly remembered how much strength it took him to let Flippy go and not pull something on him.

"Yeah, it's really nice." The blue haired teen stated, his light bangs billowing softly in the wind while his smile glimmered with happiness. He was so glad to still be here with Flippy and subconsciously the grip on Flippy's hand tightened but an amount that was still comfortable and tolerable.

Flippy could feel Splendid squeeze his hand back, if only just a bit, but he liked it. He was glad he could share scenery with someone he cared for. Flippy shut his eyes, though not falling asleep, and remembered all those times he and Splendid shared moments like these together. There weren't many "alone moments" they shared together, but he definitely questioned one thing when they did. Did he have a crush on Splendid, or was it just a close friendship? He decided, as he nuzzled against Splendid's shoulder with a smile on his face,

It's a crush.

((~Do you ever think,

When we're all alone,

All that we can be,

Where this thing could go?~

Thanks David Archuleta for supporting the mood xD))

Splendid stiffened in feeling Flippy lean his head onto his shoulder, showing that he appreciated the toxin and warmth he was receiving. It caused blush to heat up all the way from his neck and as far across the board as his ears. He could believe he was like this Flippy of all people. His best friend and long time crush. It was unexplainable.

"Hey Flippy," Splendid started, swallowing the left over saliva in his mouth as his eyes locked on with the pure blue of the sky above. "What're you thinking about?"

  • Author
Flippy tried to think of something to cover himself up, but he failed. "You," He said softly, opening his eyes to gaze upon the horizon before him. He seemed to be fixated on nothing in particular, a breeze brushing past them to ruffle the mess of green hair atop Flippy's head. He didn't even care if his hat was about to fall off, he just cared if he was near Splendid...

Splendid froze. Him? He was what was plaguing Flippy's mind? Smiling softly, the bluenette looked down at Flippy the urge to do something nearly overwhelming him. He knew what he wanted--he wanted to kiss the teen. But he wasn't going to. Not now. He'd ruin the moment. besides, he was sure Flippy meant it as in he was thinking about him playing basketball. Not an excuse to kiss him unfortunately.

"Oh? Me?" Splendid asked with a laugh. "I didn't expect that from you....did you know I made it onto the team?" Stupid stupid! That wasn't relevant! That wasn't anything close to--Splendid could have killed himself right then and there...

Flippy internally sighed. The poor guy couldn't take a flirt very well, could he? He shook his head, looking up at him through his bangs, a bit skeptical to make eye contact. "That's not what I meant..." Flippy murmered, giving him that soft smile that was specially reserved for Splendid's eyes alone. He didn't know it was possible to have a crush on his own best friend, but he knew now... And he thought that it'd be best to get it off his chest now. But first, he'd have to catch his attention.

Splendid looked down at Flippy, scratching the back of his head with his one free hand. He knew that's not what the teen had meant or intended with his words, he just...he wasn't good in situations like this. With his crush leaning against his shoulder and giving him such a gentle smile, it was sending Splendid's heartbeat way past irregular. It was nerve wracking.

"I-It wasn't? Then...what did you mean?" Splendid fumbled, his navy blue eyes darting around to find anything but the honest look Flippy was giving him. It made him feelguilty for having a crush on him, for wanting to hold him close, for wanting to take him to heaven several times a day. It was so horrible of the bluenette to feel that way secretly (to him anyway). He felt that if Flippy were to know...if he were to know it'd disgust him or something...

((I can't call you back right now because my mom is making an important phone call, and I can't disturb her.))

Flippy blushed, holding back the urge to just stand up and say 'nevermind.' He did that too often in the past. From Flippy's childhood, he had remembered something his father had told him when he was still alive: “I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.” He gulped.

"I mean... I like you... A lot."

Had Splendid been drinking something he would have spit it out and completely ruined the moment. But he didn't have anything to drink. He didn't even have anything to chew. So he settled for the hitch in his breath and the speeding of his heart beat as it plummeted to his stomach, rose to his throat, and back down again. Did he really just hear Flippy properly? He...He liked him?

"W-Well...we're friends. Of course we like each other." Splendid stated, laughing nervously trying to see if by playing it off Flippy would try to press the point he may or may not be trying to make. He was sure Flippy hadn't meant it in a loving kind of way. Like he wanted to...to date or something. Splendid couldn't see it as a possibility. Even if he so desperately wanted to he just couldn't believe that Flippy would do that. It had to be a test if his trust or something along the lines of that.

Flippy sighed, shaking his head. It was useless to confess to him like that... But he didn't know if he was in love with Splendid or not... He just knew that he liked him. "No, I mean..." He softly grabbed the collar of Splendid's shirt, bringing him down further. He kissed the edge of Splendid's lips, puliing away after that with the hold on his collar still holding him there, their faces still close together. "I like you."

Splendid blushed brightly at that, his heart soaring. He couldn't help it, as he licked his lips softly, when he leaned down to close the small space between the two of them and kissed Flippy full on the lips, being sure to be soft and tender as he did so. It was everything he had hope for...except times a thousand more brilliant.

"I like you to." He whispered with a silly, lopsided grin that he knew Flippy probably really liked now that he knew what the teen really thought if him. As he looked at his best friend he couldnt help but laugh a bit at his expression. He really didn't just like Flippy--he loved him.

Flippy was a bit taken back by the kiss, even after it ended. He smiled even so, his blush extending to his ears. "...Thank you," He muttered, kissing him quickly one last time before leaning on his shoulder, holding onto his arm tenderly. "Splendid." He looked to the horizon, gently clinging to Splendid's arm all the while. It felt nice having his feelings returned.

((BRB))

Splendid grinned, hanging an arm loosely around Flippy's shoulder as he leaned on his head. He felt content like this, the breeze tickling both of them, when a thought struck him. Biting his lip, Splendid look down at the cement of the roof and felt himself grow awkward again.

"Hey Flippy....what if I told you I didn't just like you?" Splendid questioned softy, barely louder than a whisper. keeping his smile up. It wasn't really intended for his friend to hear but he felt relived saying it out loud. Like a sudden pressure was lifted off his shoulders and now he felt calm like the wind.

  • Author
Flippy looked up at him briefly before letting his gaze fall back to the ground. "...What do you mean?" He asked, leaning lovingly back into the arm around his shoulders. Flippy was worried, if only for a little bit. Did he mean that he just liked him as a friend with benefits or what? He tightened his grip on Splendid's hand, hoping that he hadn't done anything wrong.

Splendid blinked at the tight grip on his hand. Oh God he didn't make him angry or anything right? What if he thought he was gonna reject him or...or what if he thought he was gonna go all Lumpy perverted on him. Splendid could have facepalmed. He really should have worded that better. Hell he should've just kept his mouth shut.

"I mean...I love you." It was so embarrassing to say that, especially in this situation. "I've actually had a crush on you for a while now...Almost two years."

  • Author
Flippy blinked. Splendid loved him...? That was definitely surprising, and Flippy didn't know what to say. 'I love you too' seemed a little too straight-forward and quick. But... then again, he'd hate to turn him down and make him upset. "I...Splendid...I love you too." He admitted bashfully, though not in full truth. Maybe, if he gave it some time, he would fall in love with Splendid too. It was just a matter of wanting to.

Splendid wasn't an idiot--he could sense the hesitation in his voice. And he wasn't sure if Flippy's words made him feel happier more then it hurt him. But he still smiled, hiding his disappointment, and leaned his hea back against Flippy's holding his hand.

"....The period is gonna be over soon." He finally admitted, lowering his gaze to his lap.

  • Author
Flippy had made him upset. He just knew it. He frowned briefly before standing up. "...You want to head back, then?" He asked, still debating on whether he should ask if he had done something wrong or not. He tried to hide the way he was upset with himself for even saying that he loved him back, when really he wasn't sure. He should've just politely declined... It would have been better than leading him on like that... He really wanted to prove to him that he could try to love him, but he had trouble figuring out how.

Splendid nodded, getting up and holding open the door leading back to the secretary with a sweeping bow. He grinned up at Flippy as naturally as he could muster, trying to appear normal. He didn't want him to feel as though he was horribly torn up over--which he was--or that he was really upset that Flippy only liked him--which he was--.

"You first~."

  • Author
Flippy was reluctant to go. He felt like he still had to do something, but he wasn't sure what. He nodded with a normal smile, thanking Splendid with a deep kiss before heading in. He didn't mind kissing him at all, even if it didn't feel completely right when he didn't love him more than a crush. He actually felt a bit awkward near him, knowing that Splendid was disappointed. Way to go, Flippy... Messing up yet again. Good job.
